Converting it to naira is foolish and doesnt give an accurate picture of the purchasing power of the dollar.

In parts of europe a cup of coffee is about 2 euros
Which when you convert to naira is almost 1k naira. But almost everyone can afford to buy that cup of coffee

Normal breakfast at Petora hotels maryland ikeja is #15k. I don't buy 2 dollar coffee. The small pack is about $3, get like 10 servings made from it. Average 30cent. All man to his own.

Oga go sit down abeg.

Maybe you just want to argue for argument sake by pointing things that I never inferred.

I can actually lecture you on the disparities between the U.S and Nigerian economy.

I never (for your comprehension) ever said Nigeria economy was better and favorable for everyone. I only pointed out a minor instance.

Please go back and reread my previous comment. Because you are already talking off point. And like i pointed out not everyone is all about money.

Besides, how much do many rich people have in the U.S compared to the elites in Nigeria? Who are the people buying many expensive properties in Dubai and U.K? How much does a governor have here compared to a governor in the U.S? Have you been to the embassy to see how they are willing to grant VISA'S to rich elites for their investments over in their country? Have you been to the North to see how people spend money there?

Saudi has only a minority stake of investments of nearly 10billion in the U.S and you are busy screaming with false info. How much is that compared to the whole U.S?

Sayonara.

Wow...

i used 3 parameter to illustrate possible reasons for your mental disability and you've just confirmed my doubts.

People who have comprehended my first comment have done so successfully.

You don't go about arguing and talking off point next time.

I convert sometimes and it makes sense to me. Because I live in US doesn't mean nothing, that I should not have sense. Like, how do you expect me to buy a sofa from Ethan Allen for $6k? I could but I won't. That is money for 3 plot of land at Eleko off lekki. How do I summon the courage to take a car note of $600 a month (#300k thrown in the lagoon monthly, say who die?) when I can get a clean 2010 camry at the auction for 2k. I could but I won't. Gone are those days when guys did not have sense.
All man to his own.

Attached is a picture of the equivalent of 10 plots of land at (#350k a plot) Epe Lagos State. And someone is telling me that it is not ok to make the conversion

Lol, just so you know a perfect stranger can pull it off... pretty sure you know that.

Let lower the temperature am not sure if you are getting worked up ??, see i like the country too as much as you do, love some of it people and i believe the country too can be anything but the folks calling the shots in the country makes it damn hard.

Now i shouldn't try to judge a country by the actions of the few unfortunate leaders they had but they elect them anyways and their decisions, actions and inactions reflect the people they represent and the content of their character.

I shouldn't be stating the obvious but it may be necessary sometimes. Rule of law, human right, freedom of religion, assembly, speech and independent press is horrid in that part of the world even after more than 60 years of bidding farewell to colonial rule, it pathetic.

Then we have the issue of Massive unemployment, endemic corrupt practices, wealth inequality, gross infrastructure deficit not to mention the issue of national security.

It seems to me that the long sweep of the country is define by backward motion.

Bunch of unrelated nonsense.

You win. I made a mistake engaging you.

A country where the President cannot get medical treatment in his own country speaks volumes.

A country where a policeman can be bribed on the street speaks volumes

A country where you can go without electricity for hours speaks volumes

A country where your land can get stolen by herdsman and you can do nothing speaks volumes

A country where you have majority of college graduates jobless speaks volumes

A country where robbers can block a national highway and stop travellers and rob them in broad daylight speaks volumes

A country where you have to but bars on windows and fences to hide your house speaks volumes

A country that imports oil, food and products from overseas even when they produce them locally speaks volumes

You cant tell me Nigeria is great because of a handful of elites that are living food and using your money as toilet tissue.

Many people who have never lived in the US will never understand his plight. Even though the grass is greener on the other side, it doesn't come without it's problems. The American dream is never really actualized by many people. They live well, enjoy great healthcare, mortgage, have a nice car but live in perpetual debt to the government. Most people never fully pay off their debts till they die. It's true.

Nigeria on the other hand is not a better place as he said. How many people can claim to live a fulfilled life when unemployment is at its highest ever and the cost of doing business is ridiculous? It is insecurity? We can talk about that from morning till the next morning...and there's no light at the end of that tunnel. Is it healthcare? The president is currently in the UK for medical check-up. Not a treatment solution that isn't available here o! Ordinary check-up. What an insult to every single medical practitioner in the country!

In the words of Zlatan Ibile, "Ko easy worldwide" but I'd rather cry in a Brabus than on a Bicycle.

You nail it bro!
My Canadian friend told me that when she comes home, she is going to fight everyone because we are not hardworking enough to know what it takes to get a Dollar pay.She told me how she was crying as she returned back from work, her hand frozen and she dropped the bag, wept uncontrollably as she remembered home( Nigeria). Then a White woman watching nearby, rush to help her carry the bag to her door step.
Your Leaders have mislead you, says the Scripture!

Gather and ship all the Nigerians to the US and bring all US citizens to Nigeria, and you'll see that in three years time, Nigeria will become USA while USA will become Nigeria. Shame on the Nigerian people especially the youths. Those who are making America and elsewhere great and better are all youths. Now you want to run and go to live there.

I know someone (a female..friend of my babe) actually leaving the U.S to come back to Nigeria. Actually she is in Nigeria now.

She prefers Naija because she says U.S is not what people think. Especially with racism and all that.

And she works for a Fortune 500 company. You all know the name because you use it everyday. So no she isn't one of those broke ones.

But she will work remotely from Naija tho.

If not for jobs I am sure many will come back home.
And i have 2 close colleagues that are in US. I asked them how racism is over there and they said its not as we think it is and they would never return even if covid20 wants to kill them there...your female friend was obviously bored and got no attention from anyone there and will prefer to come to naija were she can be hailed and given the attention she thinks she deserves

I believe a millionaire in Abuja enjoys his money better than someone earning over 2000k dolls in the U.S.

Even citizens recently are complaining of the new tax policies by the new administration. What do you want to enjoy there that you can't enjoy in a place like Abj? Is it light, road e.t.c.

Everyone has their own preferences. Not everyone has to think like others who see the U.S as heaven.

When I make my examples I use saner places in Nigeria not places and slums like lagos.

Lol. I don't know about you but I prefer not to live in a country where if I call the police they'll probably show up or decide not to show up at all. Where I have to turn on a generator in order to have power. Where cattle herders are more powerful than the police. Where the police can stop me at anytime to demand bribe. Where people don't pay tax that would help them maintain their own country. Where when 2 people get in an accident they prefer to slug it out on the street instead of calling their insurance company. Where If i'm sick, i'm phucked. etc. Need I say more? And you are naming one state where you can enjoy meanwhile you will enjoy in all 50 states in America. And just so you know, your 200k in Nigeria is like 2k in the U.S. By the time you pay for your own power, road access, security, unchecked inflation, etc please tell me how much is left?

Bros...my post did not disagree with you. All i said was for a minority.

There are people enjoying all the things you complained about In the country. That's my point.

People who live in estates were there are security..24/7 lights etc. In Nigeria don't complain like the average Nigerian.

There are even white people who even enjoy your country more. And they even complain of their own country. I had one work it us at my former place.

Because it doesn't favor you does not mean it doesn't favor others.

He' is simply right but what he ought to say is
THE DISADVANTAGES OF LIVING IN USA .
Cause only a crazy mad human being will say such
Your president issued $1,400 to 85% of her citizens for covid relief. Not a single penny was giving to us here.
So how then is this shithole better than the US ??

See as you jumped to conclusion.

You mentioned only two friend's..where do they stay? Is it Chicago or Texas? A Republican state or a Dem state?

You don't sit down and conclude for everyone because of two friends who never jam better problem yet. Just like southerners that didn't care much about the insurgency in the North but now are starting to feel the heat as it is closing up on them.

Many U.S citizens have been reported recently of leaving states like California because of racism and riots. Even a friend of mine married to my babe's sister wants to move from the mumu Dem ruled state he is in to Canada.
I speak on people who have something to lose not people who are still feeding from Mommy and Daddy.

My comment was on a minority and a friend as an example. I never said U.S is more terrible than Naija. Although in some aspects, one would wish he had remained at home.

No be only attention. You don't make arguments on sentiments. Facts don't care about your feelings.

Your argument is not logical. What is the point of a handful of people enjoying life when millions are suffering? And how is people not complaining a good thing? It just means they've become used to suffering which is worse. And why would it favor me? I'm a normal human being. I will never allow myself to get used to a country like Nigeria. Tufiakwa.

Do you have comprehension issues at all?

I have noticed that with a lot of people here.

Did I say or advise Nigerians to go back to Nigeria. I gave an example of someone and also some people who enjoy Nigeria better.

Understand this, some people have valid reasons..okay?

No one is arguing about masses suffering. If you are suffering leave for a better place. Shikena.

Many Nigerians are even suffering in the U.S and would love to come back but they can't. Whether you believe that or not is up to you.
