This international window has pushed Nigeria back as African third best team. Nigeria will leap past Algeria and Morocco in the rankings to be released next Thursday.

Post made on April 02 by our good man here and today being April 7th confirms his calculations. Beautiful work done Nelszx.

Even my dad, Chief Icon4s dey do these calculations too but he had been quite busy with other "calculations". grin

Cheers again man.

Several top clubs in the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A as well as Ligue 1 are interested in signing Michael Olise, who was recently placed on standby by the Super Eagles.

The contract of the 19-year-old midfielder at English Championship side Reading FC will be up next year.

According to eurosportuk, the interested clubs include Borussia Dortmund, Leipziq in the Bundesliga, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea from the Premier League as well as Napoli (Serie A) and AS Monaco (Ligue 1).

The attacking midfielder has scored six goals and provided 10 assists in 38 games in the English Championship.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing Augsburg centre-back Felix Uduokhai. According to SportBILD the 23 year old is one of the names on the Black and Yellows’ list of targets as they look to sign a new centre-back this summer. The magazine claims that Augsburg want a transfer fee of at least 15 million euros for the defender.

Felix Uduokhai, who joined Augsburg in 2019 (initially on loan), is enjoying an impressive season for the Bavarian side. The former Wolfsburg defender has made a total of 28 appearances so far this season, with his only goal coming in the 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in September.

His performances saw him earn his first Germany call-up in November, but he did not get the chance to make his national team debut.

Uduokhai still has more than three years left on his Augsburg contract. He would likely be a cheaper alternative to Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix, who is expected to cost upwards of 30 million euros.

SportBILD also add that, as expected, Lukasz Piszczek and Marcel Schmelzer will be leaving Borussia Dortmund when their contracts expire in the summer. Piszczek is set to retire from professional football at the end of the season. While Schmelzer’s future remains uncertain, with the left-back currently working on returning to full fitness after having knee surgery in August.

Nico Schulz is another player who could leave the Black and Yellows in the summer. The Germany international joined Borussia Dortmund from Hoffenheim in 2019, but hasn’t been able to stake a claim for a regular starting spot so far.

Stats won't tell you the whole Story as I said before. 6 Goals in 10 Apps sound so juicy, but guess you Guys know he scored only in 4 Matches out of 10?

Moreover the Goals were scored in a Competition that's more or less Friendly Matches - United Nation League. So far he has played 2 Matches in Euro Qualifier with no Goal or Assist to his Name.

3 Matches in WCQ, also with no Goal or Assist to his Name. 5 Matches so far in FIFA recognised Competitions and so far, no Goal or Assist....... isn't that a poor Record?

If Haaland chose to retire today, his numbers will read 10 matches, 6 goals...

Just like Ighalo who did almost nothing after his first 15-20 matches in GWG but started racking braces later on

This is what he told Oma Akatugba after his call up to the German national team. I think he will fly with the Eagles if he fails to make the German squad to the Euros

Uduokhai Discusses Nigerian Roots, Super Eagles, Okocha & Christianity

Oma Akatugba

POSTED ON NOVEMBER 13, 20

Augsburg defender, Felix Uduokhai is a dual national and one of the foreign-born Nigerians being monitored by the Nigeria Football Federation.

Born in Annaberg-Buchholz, a town in Saxony near the Czech border, to a German mother and Nigerian father on the 9th of September 1997, Uduokhai is eligible for the Super Eagles and the Die Maanschaft.

Recently called up to the German national side, as just the fourth Augsburg player in history to earn an invitation, Uduokhai in an interview made available to omasports by the Bundesliga, spoke about his international career, J.J Okocha and his faith.

“I’ve never been to a game (in Nigeria) but I’ve been in a stadium in Nigeria once. It was on old stadium and it was a long time ago but I can remember it.

“When I was there, I was 11 so it was a long time ago. Of course, at that age it’s something you can’t believe because you’ve never seen those areas before in your life and it’s so different to your life here. It’s another world. It was fantastic to see all my family, my aunt, my uncles, cousins and all my family. I really want to go there next time.”

On his favourite team in Nigeria and his knowledge of the Nigerian game, Uduokhai who has lived in Germany all his life said;

“In Nigeria, no, no special team. I don’t really know many teams, I don’t know the league. Of course, I love the national team, especially the jerseys, they’re so beautiful. I’m going to buy the next one for sure.”

Okocha is a hero for every Nigerian millennial, or Gen Z male, irrespective of discipline or roots. The former Eintracht Frankfurt is one of the best players to have ever come out of Nigeria and Uduokhai believes the time he spent in Germany is helping other Nigerian footballers.

Quizzed on his biggest Nigerian player, he said;

“No question, it’s JJ Okocha of course.”
“I saw him playing for Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League and how he played was like Ronaldinho at his best. He had all of these fancy skills. You saw that he enjoyed his game and that’s beautiful.”

Uduokhai also hopes to meet Okocha soon, as he said he has never met him before.

“No, unfortunately not but maybe some time.”
“A lot (that Okocha brought to the Bundesliga). I can remember talking to my uncle and my dad and when they came to Germany, they watched the Bundesliga.

“At the time JJ Played for Eintracht Frankfurt. For them it was wonderful to see their own country, their own man playing in the Bundesliga. JJ wasn’t a player like everyone else, or every second player, he was fantastic and special. I can remember the goal against Oliver Kahn and that was crazy. JJ did a lot for the country of Nigeria to make them famous and to represent them in Germany.”

Just before getting called to the German senior national side, Uduokhai, who admires Kevin Akpoguma’s decision to pitch tent with Nigeria said he works according to the dictates of his heart.

“For me, the most important thing is that whatever you do you decide with your heart. It’s a decision I have to make, maybe not now but it’s a decision I want to make when I’m 100% sure I want to make that step. Right now, I’m not in a position to say let’s do that, or this, I NEED SOME TIME. WE ARE GOING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS AND MONTH'S.”

“We’re not that close but for sure I know him(Akpoguma) well. He’s Nigerian too and can play for the national team. I’m happy for him, that he decided to play for the national team and he made that step. Congrats to him.”

A devout Christian, he goes to church on a Sunday when he does not have a game or training for Augsburg.

“Whenever I have the opportunity, I try to go to church and attend a service,” Uduokhai told Spox. “Or I read the Bible in my quiet time. For me this is the solid foundation on which I stand. Everything else builds on this for me, I draw strength from it, get calm – and also joy. There are a few players in the U21 squad who are the same,”

Same rhetorics, I need time yet if Germany comes you won't need time, Uduokhai just needs time to become a German reject before considering the Super Eagles.

Let every player follow their hearts, If you want German wait for Germany, If you want Super Eagles then declare early in your career so you can be integrated into the team building as well as have a long career, not coming when you have been rejected and your age is already reading 25+ years.

Napoli fans are still crying and ranting on social media at the decision. Lol

Some even insist the game changed for Napoli when Osimhen came in and I agree. Lad disturbed De Ligt and Chiellini especially so much he won a penalty. Anyway, moving on to Zaidu now.
