Next month (May) second week onwards you can make your application. It’s best you check on the Gov.Uk site to see the current fees as the change every time. And yes you’ll have to pay the IHS fees....

Hi house, hopefully everyone has been safe all through the pandemic. I'd like to find out if this is happened to someone else or it's 1 of them random situation. Basically, BRP expired 27/12/20 and did renew before then. Attended biometric capturing appt on the 22/01/21. Paid £134 for that. Then sometimes in Feb i get an email from home office that normally they strive to make decisions on applications within 8wks but mine will take longer than that as my status has automatically being extended. And till date it's been radio silence from them, which is starting to get me worried as to why it's taking to long or perhaps if something is wrong with my application. Please is anyone here having the same issue or got the same email. Thanks

You are not alone. Am in the same situation too. I did my online submission on 07/12/2020, Biometric on 07/01/2021. Got the usual covid delay email 2 weeks later and since then nothing else.
I have also been following some forums, few people are in the same boat especially application submitted early dec 2020 to early Jan 2021.
All we can do is wait.

Hello everyone,

I need help with my situation and I would really like assistance on how to go about this.

My Passport expires tomorrow and my visa expires June. A new visa application is required to be tendered for leave to remain.

My questions are;
1. Will I be allowed to apply with an expired Passport for the visa extension?
2. Will I be required to attend biometrics with an expired passport (given the backlog situation at the Nigerian embassy)?
3. Hypothetically if I were to get an appointment at the Nigerian embassy prior to attending biometrics and they collect my old Passport, how can I attend the biometrics session without a new passport or what are my options here please?

Anyone with experience care to help out please?

Lastly @Divine88 how did you convince your new employer to take you on in the middle of your visa application processing?

I look forward to your responses.

You don’t need to convince anyone. Apply for the job, if you are successful, submit your immigration details.
If you’ve made your application already to the home office, you should have a unique ID. Forward the ID to the HR. All they need to do is do a verification check using the link here

Under normal circumstances,

1. No, you need a passport with at least 6 months validity to apply.

2. See answer to question 1

3. See answer to question 1

However, due to Covid 19 and Nigeria High Commission backlog issues, I think your best bet is to contact Home Office and ask your questions. Try with this https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk/y/inside-the-uk/visas-work-study-and-extensions

Hi all! I am about to submit my application for first extension and we have just two documents in joint names. How many documents do we have to give in single names to make up the required documents?

Also do I have to scan all the pages of mine and my partners passport?
Thank you!

Submit as much as you can but make sure they are spread between the 2 years you arrived.
We only had just a single document in joint names (bank account).
I did scan all the pages of my passport but only scan the bio data page of my spouse passport. I hope this helps

Hi, it's meant to be 6 in joint names or 6 each in individual names so since you have 2 in joint names, you need additional 4 each in individual names spread over the period.

All the best.

If you are applying for FLR, then it’s £600 for each year which would make it £1500 for 2.5 years visa. This is what I paid late 2019 when I applied for my FLR. This might have changed now so it’s best you check on there .Gov site

Please how much is the entire cost including the renewal cost itself?

Good day house. Its being quiet in house for weeks. Please I need clarity on my 5 years indefinite leave to remain (ilr) calculation.

I am on the 5 years route. My BRP first issue was 11th December 2017 (11/12/2017).
Arrived UK 30/12/2017.
I have been given extension and it expires 21/7/2023. With this calculation, (date of first issue to expiry) its 5 years 7 months.

In order to qualify for 5years ilr application, should I wait till my BRP expires 21/7/2023 (which will be 5 years 7 months)? Or can I calculate exactly 5 years from date of issue 11/12/2017, which will be 11/12/2022 and apply?

To summarise my date of first issue to expiry is 5years 7months but I want to apply exactly 5years from first issue (due to school admissions timing). Please I need the house opinions, must I wait till brp expires (28 day rule considered) or simply calculate 5 years from first brp issue. Thanks.

Anytime from 28 days before 30/12/22 that is between 2nd Dec 2022 and 21/7/2023. Usually 28 days before the 5th year of entry

If I understand you clearly, you saying your FLR will expire on 21/7/23. If this is the case why would you want to give yourself high BP by applying for indefinite far before the expiration of your current visa ?. Where are you rushing to?.
It is stated clearly 28 days before expiration for a reason. If my maths is still correct 28days should be around ending of July 2023 (say 23-25)….If you are too eager you can attempt to apply and tell us the outcome…..

To answer your first question, no i am not giving myself BP. I explained its because of school admissions timing.
2nd, your maths is correct but July 2023 visa expiration translates to me living in the UK for 5 years 7 months. Gov.uk it states, You must complete 5 years of continuous residence in the UK. Which for me ends 30th December 2022.
Like you said, when it's time I will go ahead and apply, hopefully the 5 years calculation is accepted, fingers crossed
