It's sad that investors have to worry about getting dividends when it should be sorted out between company registrar & stockbroker.
Hopefully at some point, the Securities commission can get the registrars and stockbrokers to sort out this BS.

With all the several KYC we have been doing, why cant the registrars get linkup with CSCS and Brokers to sort out this problem.

Someone once said they do this on purpose to discourage people from claiming their dividends and it sure looks like that.
In many other countries, you don't need to track dividend payment dates or chase registrars to get your dividend. That automatically goes to your stockbroking account from where you bought the stock in the first place and then you choose if to reinvest it or have it paid out to your registered bank account.

That doesn't sound like rocket science, but This is Nigeria!

Don't sent to them.
You are to sent the share transfer form to your stockbroker which in your case is Morgan Capital stockbroking firm.

That true,
I remember when they still send dividends by post, most dividends always come late we have to revalidate to claim them, some people never got dividends still date.

For long termers.

Keep observing. Vitafoam @ 8 or slightly below is a good bargain. It might not likely retest lower lows (below 7:50).
If they release another good q2 month end, it's 9 we will be looking at.

I believe there is prospect here the question is when it will happen. I read somewhere they recently discovered large quantities of Lithium and Nickel in their Mines of Ja- oil ( I will share the link when I find it). Also their Financial book is cleaner after Access bank debts write-off.
My personal opinion though.

Do you buy shares based on what people say or write?

Better to buy based on your personal research and conviction

It's sad that investors have to worry about getting dividends when it should be sorted out between company registrar & stockbroker.
Hopefully at some point, the Securities commission can get the registrars and stockbrokers to sort out this BS.

Stockbrokers mainly is to give you a platform to trade stocks/equities or trade on your behalf. Dividend is between investor and the company you invested in with registrars as middle man to facilitate the record keeping and payment.

The collection of dividend is not part of the regular duties of stockbroking firms as stipulated by law.
However, individual clients can give authority to his/her stockbroker to do the chasing of dividends and that comes with a fee.

To put the issues of dividend behind always fill a transfer form and send to your broker after purchase of a stock and give at least 10 working days before you send mandate to the registrars otherwise your mandates get to the registrar and no specimen signature to compare with.

By the way it's cscs that process your transfer form not the broker it only pass through the broker to cscs.
When filling the transfer form always write the quantity bought at a deal if you bought in trenches.

If you already have a specimen signature always send a mail to the registrar to mandate any new purchase with the current mandate. Some registrars do it automatically especially if it's same CHN others will require a mail before they can mandate new purchases.

Well, one reason for the latest KYC Update between CSCS and Brockers is to enable registrars to get shareholders' information for payment of dividends and bonuses.
