FORMER LGBTQ MEMBERS SAY THEIR CHANGED LIVES PROVE HOMOSEXUALITY ISN'T PERMANENT

CAPITOL HILL – These days there's so much talk about gay and transgender rights, and passing laws to protect those rights, that a whole other minority is getting ignored: those who've left the gay and transgender lifestyles.

Political correctness insists LGBTQ people are born that way and their sexual orientation is impossible to change. But 18 former gays, lesbians and transgenders stood before the US Capitol this week to proclaim they're real, despite a culture that denies such transformation is possible.

They're just the tip of the iceberg, representing thousands who've moved out of the homosexual and transgender lifestyles. Many of them have joined what's known as the Changed Movement, co-founded by Elizabeth Woning of Redding, California.

'Everywhere You Go, You Hear That's Utterly Impossible'

She told CBN News, "We've experienced a change in our sexual orientation – some small, some great. I mean, some of us don't experience same-sex attraction anymore. And yet, everywhere you go, you hear that's utterly impossible."

It wasn't impossible for Changed Movement co-founder Ken Williams – a former homosexual, but now a heterosexual father of four.

"I really don't experience same-sex attraction," he testified. "I don't ever get sexually aroused by looking at a man. That hasn't happened in years."

But US House bill 3570 declares therapy similar to the counseling that helped Williams leave homosexuality can't actually accomplish that.

It proclaims: "…there is no evidence that conversion therapy is effective or that an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity can be changed by conversion therapy."

Governments Forbidding Life-Saving Therapy

Williams worries such a bill could forbid therapy like what saved his life. In fact, it will be illegal even if a person requests what some call conversion therapy.

"At 17 years old, I was suicidal," Williams recalled. "I started seeing a Christian counselor, who I saw weekly for five years. It changed my life. That's the last day I felt suicidal was the day I was able to go and talk about my brokenness and what I wanted – my own goals for healing."

Pastor Jim Domen, founder of Church United, added, "The government is getting into a private, medical room setting and telling the doctor how to proceed, or telling the counselor, the therapist what to say, not allowing the client to choose the direction they want to go. Myself and the other former LGBTQ people have chosen to leave the lifestyle."

Such therapy – which is already illegal in Domen's home state of California – helped Domen go from gay guy to heterosexual husband and dad.

"It grieves me because as a young man at 16, I sought professional counseling, and this counseling would not be available for youth today, and actually in 18 states in America. And these two bills that are moving at the federal level would not allow it for adults or youth," Domen stated.

"These bills would not only prohibit it. It's almost like we'd have to go underground to seek help," Domen warned. "And it breaks my heart when you hear the stories of people who've been sexually abused, people who are suicidal or people who are going through depression and seeking help, or they want to go in a different direction. It would be very difficult if not impossible to do."

Labeling Life-Changing Therapy 'Substantially Dangerous'

In fact, a bill like H.R. 3570 not only ignores the help such therapy has brought some people, it brands it toxic.

The bill states: "…it is substantially dangerous to an individual's mental and physical health, and has been shown to contribute to depression, self-harm, low self-esteem, family rejection, and suicide."

The news release announcing this Capitol Hill gathering of former LGBTQ people stated, "Coercive proposals like H.R. 5 (the so-called "Equality Act"wink and H.R. 3570 promote only one ideology and force only one lifestyle as a way forward. Men and women who have opted out of the LGBTQ lifestyle daily face hate speech, protests, and discrimination simply for expressing their views or sharing their life stories. Amazon has removed their books, states have shut down their counseling options and their churches receive protests when they assemble together. Their basic human rights are being denied."

Woning said of bills like H.R. 5 and H.R. 3570, "I'm very worried about these laws because they marginalize us."

She told CBN News, "I understand the heart from Congresspeople who want to protect the LGBTQ community because human dignity needs to be protected in America. However, they do that at the exclusion of people like me, who have made a different choice than the rest of the LGBT community. And the more they talk about it, the more they villainize people like us."

'Not One of Them Has Ever Been Harmed in a Therapy'

Ken Williams worries about legislators stigmatizing all sorts of counseling that can help move people out of the homosexual lifestyle by labeling it all "conversion therapy," which conjures up long-ago images of young homosexuals being brutalized to "make the gay go away."

He explained, "It's been at least 20 or 30 years since any kind of therapy happened that is something that people are claiming is harming people. It doesn't happen today."

Williams went on to say, "I know hundreds of people personally who have left LGBT behind and not one of them has ever been to something called 'conversion therapy.' Not one of them has ever been harmed in a therapy."

'The Farther Christianity Gets Out of the Mainstream, the More Broken We're Becoming'

Many of these former LGBTQ people who journeyed to Capitol Hill this week are Christians who also give God the credit for their radical change.

Standing among them, Woning brought a warning for a culture that would reject that holy power and instead embrace what the Bible says is toxic.

She asserted, "America today wants to squash the Gospel and the power of the Gospel, when the moral values of Christianity are what supported America up to now."

Woning said of some of her fellow Americans, "We are denying our own biology. We are hating ourselves. We have higher rates of mental illness and suicide. The farther Christianity gets out of the mainstream, the more broken we're becoming in America."

These folks are saying while laws are being passed to protect people in the gay and transgender communities, other people who want to swim against the cultural mainstream will be hurt by those very same laws.

Former Homosexuals Choose Christ and Holiness Over Sin

Millennials and Gen-Xers stood together, unified with a voice that declared freedom is possible through Christ. The message is what so many need to hear but has been so quickly shunned. It lacks popularity but is packed with power.

Jeffrey McCall, the founder of the Freedom March, invited me to be a part of this historical event. Watching so many younger than I stand unashamed and passionate about their experience of walking out of the lifestyle of homosexuality into a life of freedom in Christ was a magnificent experience. This has been an answer to prayer.

They stood together, each one with their own story of how Christ came into their heart and gave them a brand-new life. These young people were vibrant and energetic. Their enthusiasm was clearly visible as they shared their testimonies of coming out of darkness into the marvelous light of Christ. 1 Peter 2:9 says in the Message Bible, "But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted."

While they had no qualms reminding me that I was part of the "older generation" and spoke of my "mothering heart," I couldn't help but be amazed as I watched them speak boldly and with much assurance that it was only Jesus that kept them and brought them to this point. They did not hesitate to let everyone know that change is possible, hope is tangible and love is available.

This march represented so much more than just a group of people gathering to share their thoughts. This was a march in the capital of the United States, Washington, D.C. This was a true declaration that Jesus is not dormant or dead. He is very much alive and able to change lives.

While the LGBTQ community has no hesitation in parading its doctrines and agendas before anyone, this Freedom March gave the ex-homosexual a clear voice. They were able to declare openly, right in our nation's capital, that the lifestyle they once embraced was not God's will for their life or anyone else's life. They were able to freely stand up and say that they chose Christ and holiness over all of their sins.

There were no hidden agendas. Everyone was accepted. There were so many people from all cultures and nationalities. Everyone was important, no matter what titles they held or didn't have. The love and respect for each other was so apparent. For a moment, I forgot I was 61 years old and just blended in with these young motivating marchers.

It was a true honour to be a part of this wonderful event. For this moment, every Christian had a voice. Each person in this march was speaking for so many others. The message was in the songs they sang and the messages they declared.

They spoke for the countless people who were not able to march and could not attend. They spoke for the person struggling with their sexuality. They spoke for the person who is gender disoriented and insecure. They spoke for the cross-dresser and the transgender. They spoke for everyone and anyone who is unsure of themselves and unable to find love and hope. They marched to show that there is hope and there is unconditional love available through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Freedom March declared to everyone that our God is not dead. He is very much alive in all of us and anyone who will allow Him to come in. No one is refused. No sin is too ugly or vile. Jesus stands with outstretched arms for everyone (Ps. 136:12). That is true freedom, and it is only found in our loving Saviour, Jesus Christ.

So the truth about sexuality is that God made humans solely heterosexual in the beginning. This as well applied to the animals who God also made to be "a male and his female" in the beginning. Genesis 1:21-25, 6:19-20, 7:1-4, 8-9.

And after God had made everything in the beginning, including the heterosexual nature of all humans and animals, it was said:

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Therefore everything God had made in the beginning was perfect, which includes the heterosexual nature of humans and animals who He had made to be "a male and his female".

Hence any idea that God also made homosexuals that way is completely unfounded and obviously not true, but a lie from the pit of hell, because it wasn't the way God made humans and animals to be in the beginning.

Moreover after God had made everything in the beginning, everything was said to have been "very good" in the sight of God, therefore it would have been impossible for homosexuality to have been a part of those things that God had made in the beginning, since homosexuality was said to be a very grievous and abominable sin in the sight of God. Gen 13:13, Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13.

The homosexual orientation in some humans only came into the picture, after man who God put in charge of everything He had made, had given Satan access to God's hitherto "very good" creation via sin. That was how Satan who doesn't come to humans, but to steal, kill, spoil and destroy, was able to exploit and alter the original nature of humans and animals from how God had made them to be in the beginning.

Hence what might seem natural now, was not the way it was in the beginning when God made them, so it wasn't God that made them that way, but Satan through the opportunity that man's sin accorded him.

That's how Satan was also able to plant other abominable sexual orientations like bestiality, pedophilia etc, which weren't originally in humans in the beginning after God had made them to spoil the "very good" work that God had done in the beginning.

I'm atheist and a non-proponent of Homosexuality. I also have a background in biochemistry. I totally dont want homosexuality to reign supreme but I also think it has a genetic undertone though in some cases, it's caused by society factors.
maybe we cannot call it a gay gene though but genes that affect the proportionate production of testosterone and estrogens play a vital role in homosexuality. I see homosexuality as a medical and psychological conditions but the society doesn't want to treat it in that manner
