It is not possible for apc to lose sw except they vex tinubu.they can lose narrowly in NC.unfortunately,the north central is infreasingly becoming anti north so pdp presenting atiku or tambuwal is a disaster.pdp can gain good votes in core north but cannot win massively in ss and se except through rigging.

I laugh when I see this kind of talk. If it comes down to Tinubu vs Atiku, PDP won’t get 30% in the south west. It won’t be close at all.

Immediate Past Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has advised leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau, Niger, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi, Benue States and the FCT to unite and work together as the success of the party in the next national elections depends on its ability to win across the North Central Zone.

Saraki while addressing delegates during the Zonal Congress of the Party in Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, on Saturday Saraki noted that in all the past elections that PDP won at the national level, the party has always recorded sound victory in the North Central Zone and that the calculations has not changed.

“We have looked at the statistics for past elections since 1999 and projected into the 2023 elections, for PDP to return to control of federal power, the party needs to return to winning ways in this Zone.

“This is a party that started with controlling four of the states plus FCT in 1999 and at one time was in control of all the six states. Today, a situation where we now have only one State is partially responsible for our loss of federal power. Therefore our leaders in the Zone must make sacrifices, forget their differences and work together in national interest.

“With what is happening across the country today, it is also clear that the hope of rescuing, rebuilding and repositioning Nigeria to become greater depends on the PDP. That is why it is in the interest of Nigeria for the PDP to become stronger and united and the North Central has a key role to play in all these. Our Zone has always been a key factor in keeping Nigeria together and moving the country forward.”, Saraki stated to the admiration of delegates and leaders of the party.
Saraki further congratulated the leaders and delegates for the peaceful manner in which the congress went and the unity displayed in ensuring all the zonal officers were elected unopposed after intense deliberation and give and take arrangement.

“I congratulate Mr. Theophillus Shan who was returned unopposed as the North Central zonal chairman and all members of the zonal executives. As they work to strengthen our party in the Zone, they have our full support moving forward”, he said.

Infact pdp has helped apc in south west, south east, and north central with another Fulani candidate(Atiku)

I also hope APC can find a way to resolve the current high rate of insecurity.

I can reason with you to a length. Especially with Wike being the main financier of the party.
But if by some sheer dint of luck, the opposition do a grand calculation, beating down all biases, a Saraki candidacy should be popular enough to give APC a good run for their money.

Atiku's chances has badly dwindled no thanks to the animosity towards his zone and tribe. But Saraki (being an adulterated Fulani himself) with a reckoning for liberalism and a strong presence of SW in his DNA, all that is remainder of the task would be how to shop for perhaps a strong candidate from SE as his running mate...

He is correct. North west votes is huge and important but truth be told, the zone cannot deliver overwhelmingly for PDP in 2023. For PDP to stand a chance at all, they must find a way to win North central.

Unfortunately, I don’t see how PDP will win the zone considering the fact that APC is in control of 4 out of the six states.

same thing PDP folks said in the past. northern voters are out for northern candidate. APC controls five states

Don't forget these states have always been 50/50 and a major factor can tilt it
