I don't buy this. I personally don't see how the civilians were left with much of a choice if ISWA had control of the town for those hours and could do anything they wanted. Given what ISWAP has done in the past, what do you think would happen to them if the refused to cooperate while being held at gun point. Things aren't that simple abeg.

Additionally, all it would take was one spy or informant who's also part of the group to give them all the information they needed.
Then you've got no idea how the average northerners thinks... they believe any non moslem is a potential target to gain blessings from their God...!! If you play any how around them nah grave get you be dat..!! In one of the riot up north my friend a school mate father was killed by his own friends they use to play ball together....!! They originally came for him but he luckily escaped by scaling their compound fence, they meet his sick father who couldn't move on the sick bed and he was slaughtered right there on the bed...!!

Get the job done. Any eventualities would be regarded as collateral damage simple. Don't sympathetize or have pity on these useless terrorists because when the tables are turned, the story won't be nice.

But bokoharam also target muslims.

I watched a video of a beheadinģ of a muslim Nigerian soldier by bokoharam, he even begged that they are from the same sect, they called him an infidel and cut off his neck.

I have a question for you, pls answer without emotions.

Lets imagine, you are in a war zone and the invaders says show us your friend that is from another tribe or we shall kill you and your family?

What are you going to do?

I chose not to respond to him. You simply can't have an intellectual discourse with a bigot that chooses to generalise an entire population over the actions of a radical few. Have there not been ethnic clases in other parts of Nigeria, independent of religion of creed?

I have to consciously remind myself that this is still Nairaland.com, the HQ of ethno-religious bigotry on the Nigerian cyberspace. Its really sad how the thread has lost almost all its past qualities and intellectual commentators.

Yes...the once they feel are betraying their cause they kill, moslem or not..There was a report on this forum where boko haram mount road blocks and they told those they captured that they are out for three groups of people, First Soldiers, Second Civil Servants or government workers and thirdly Christian's...!! If you are perceived as been heretic, moslem or not you would be killed...That's a fact and it played just recently when a guy was burnt alive in front of his mum alleging that he was insulting the prophet...This is an action from normal moslem and not even boko haram yet...!! The issue is with their education I think and what they tell them in their islamic and Quranic schools...!!

Multiple video of muslims being killed by terrorist all over the world are out there .
When BH started they killed children who were in school and had reached the age of puberty.... These kids were from both faith...
Some factions here pure mischeif makers. .just keep looking for every reason to hat all that is good in this country. Even bringing long decade events into light just to diminish the image of Nigeria and the Nigeria security services

Had it been ISWAP wasn't violent ab-initio to the people or restricted their mayhem to non-muslim only would they have accepted the message or not? We all know how many extremist preachers like Mohammed Yusuf, Maitatsine, the late Sheikh Ahmad Gumi etc grew their followership.
Whether we want to accept it or not, the bitter truth still remains that many of those people in terrorist held communities today would have supported the ideologies ISWAP/BHT are pushing had those organisations limited their mayhem on "infidels".
You have said it all. Civilian JTF was created when BH started attacking Kanuri’s. Allow the dude to continue absconding from the truth.

When BH were killing Christians in Maiduguri township the locals were okay with it.

The truth should be spoken at all time

You all go and read why Bokoharam could not enter Biu town. It was not as if Biu was better protected than the rest town.

Like I said go and read why BH never entered Biu till date grin

it will be an insult and a big slap on the Hon. Minister's face and that of FG if they accept this retraction like that without dealing with Daily Independent

Yes , the agenda is real against this govt but this is an opportunity for the govt to put into use its sledge hammer

Will they call back the Publication that has already gone viral ?

Let’s get back to our military discussion please cool

I usually see a military van here sealed with solar panels around its body. I don’t know what’s the purpose of this vehicle.

I got pictures, but I feel posting it here might be a breach of security protocols cool

Just like the bandits issue, Northerner were ok with the bandits and herdsmen attacks down south and people like Gumi never spoke up against or suggested amnesty than.

Wicked people who make up fake news and the fools who spread them have lost their honour, conscience and humanity.

With the internet it is easy to forget the humanity of the victims of these fake news. Imagine waking up to read trending fake news of yourself being accused of sponsoring terrorism.

Despite the fact that they have been caught red-handed in this lie, they will still continue to make up other lies because there is always availability of fools to spread them.

Daily Independent that originally published the news haven't taken it down. Hopefully the Hon. Minister will sue and see to the end of it, the allegations are too damaging considering the sensitive position he is holding.

... PLEASE F--KING SECURE OUR F--KING BORDERS !!!!!

..... 30,000 rounds of ammo? Only heaven knows how much weaponry and ammo flows in and continues to flow in through the borders.

With this kind of open, porus borders, this insurgency war isn't ending anytime soon.
