Good morning. Please I need clarification about the cost of the 32 page standardpassport. It's listed as 17000 in some places while in others is 25000.

It's been 3 months since I did my capturing, though my NIN didn't drop but it has been rectified. I wasn't given a date to come for my passport but I was given a paper with a unique number written on it.
I've sent so many tweets and emails to NIS official Twitter and Emails address to know if my passport is ready but I did not get any response from them.

I'm planning to go to Alausa to check out things for myself, if I get there should I meet the lady at the Servicom desk or go straight to the collection room and show them that paper?

I just got a call from NIS Abeokuta customer service care to come pick my children's passports.

They did capturing on the 6th of January 2021.

Something has to be done about this delay. There is delay in kwara state too, its been weeks since I did my capturing and my passport is not out yet

that is because of the slight difference. There is e passport and then enhanced e ppt.
E passport is issued in every state except 3.. and it costs 17k
Enhanced e passport is what is issued in Lagos. abuja and Rivers and is 25k
Not much difference and both passports are valid for travel.

Please guru in the house.... People are complaining that some NIS in some state are not carrying out their duty diligently, if I proceed with DIY, should I choose Abuja, will I be attended to compare to other states which has been filled with bad eggs?
Please advise... How fast is the service in Abuja?

They were obviously lying to you. I suppose that is how they'll also act when I want to apply for passport....and the expenses will be double if I go there 'cos I don't want to lodge anywhere. Thanks!

I want to say a very big THANK YOU to all those who have contributed to this thread. Without this thread, I probably wouldn't have gone the DIY way and would have probably be swindled of money and/or may have had my application frustrated. I applied for 32 pages on Dec. 3, 2020 and collected it on Apr. 7, 2021. Though unknown to me, it was ready since Jan. 18, 2021.

So I want to contribute to this thread by giving the following suggestions:

1) DIY works and is the best way to go.

2) Enquire about the Passport Office to process your application as not all are DIY friendly.

3) If possible, during all your visits dress formally. This will command some level of respect. Also, speak respectfully and with confidence. Greet Officers first and with confidence.

4) Proceed to the Passport Office to enquire about the booklet type available.

5) Ensure you have all required documents including the guarantor form completely filled and endorsed before proceeding to the Passport Office.

6) On getting to the Passport Office, ask for Servicom. If you are asked for your purpose of visit, say to process your application. If you are asked who you want to see there, say any officer available.

7) On getting to servicom, make your purpose known in a very polite way and follow any advice they offer after checking your documents.

If you have any complaints during any of your visits, make it known without disrespecting anyone and without showing attitude.

9) Compliment any act of assistance and even if people are doing their normal work for which they are paid. People always remember those who show gratitude and will be willing and ready to help them in future.

You can always improvise any of the above as they are only suggestions.

I have someone that is still waiting for renew her passport, the thing delaying her is that they are telling her that there is no booklet, abeg what else can she do?

This is a relatively easier case than fresh application. I think you can apply for renewal within 6 months before expiry. You can approach other offices and find out if booklets are available. Mind you, some of the officers are not always truthful. Be sure to make your findings at servicom or from 2 or more offices.

I went through the previous messages in the thread, But I must confess; the more I tried understanding, the more I got confused.
Just got admitted to an American college. The admission letter is valid for one year. Although I am still trying to pull resources together and get things in place, the idea of having to do an International passport gives me goose bumps. Reason being that, I am new to the process.
I live in Jos, Plateau State and I am opting for the DIY track. Please, Please, Please can someone just summarize the whole process for me or better still tell me how much it would cost to do a 64-page booklet. If I am DI Myself, how much should I be expecting to pull off?

come o, all this talk of 27k. I did mine last week for 23k in Jos. Was captured online, submitted a guarantors passport, indigene certificate, birth certificate, national ID of guarantor and two passport photographs shikena. I smell fish in Lagos offices.

if u renew a passport, the new passport tht comes will come with a different number however it does not affect the validity of a visa. Simply affix old passport and new passport together and move with both passports when travelling.

A friend of mine wants to do his international passport and ask me to be his guarantor?

That I should send him my passport page, NIN and photo.

Is it a scam? Cus those docs are very important.
