With how things are going, Onuachu is on track to win both the Belgian Golden Shoe award (for most goals) and the Belgian Ebony Shoe award (best African player).

See you trying to undermine Rodri-Fernandinho pivot

Why do you think Guardiola use Rodri-Fernandinho pivot in big games?

Rodri Gundogan pivot is our main pivot, Rodri Fernandinho doesn't even make because it leaves a huge creative problem and Guardiola only make use of it to rest key midfielders in fringe games

OTD Sober Reflection: Adefemi Olubayo

On this day in 2011, Naija Football lost a son and a rising prospect who was approaching his peak.

He was a key member of the Wonderful 2005 U-20 Flying Eagles side that had John Mikel Obi, Taiye Taiwo, Chinedi Ogbuke Obasi, Apam Onyekacki, Isaac Promise (also late), Solomon David Abwo, and more.

He was also a member of the Silver Medal-winning Dream Team Eagles side of 2008 in which we lost to Messi's Argentina again.

He was also part of the XI that shocked France in 2009 in that international friendly between Les Bleus and Our Super Eagles under Late Amodu Shuaibu.

Adefemi Olubayo was a Right back who could also play right midfield/Right wingback.

Before he passed away 10 years ago today, he had a very good debut season for Skoda Xanthi in the Greek Super League. He was primed for a better season in 2011/2012 and getting set to be married to his lady when the accident happened in Greece. He was on his way from Xanthi to Saloniki to finalise details of his wedding.

Keep resting dear Adefemi. A lad who could have been more in the GWG. Lad was a fine baller.

Too many excuses, kepa was at the goal and don't forget pulisic would have started ahead of ziyech and havertz ahead of Werner. maybe odoi ahead of James (very serious games, like this one was supposed to be)
too many excuses for a loss

Valid excuses if you may say so, it was very clear from the lineup that only Tuchel wanted that win and Guardiola was insha Allah and hoping key players don't get injured for the Champions league semi final

Highly doubt it. Rohr mentioned that he would bring a 4th striker for the June encounters and that'll most likely be Simy.

You talking because Tuchel is bringing water out of stone. Let normal service resume then you will use your same hands to start saying #Tuchelout.

Plus you think it's just this season i've been watching Christensen and Zouma? They are ok CBs but definitely not the quality a club like Chelsea should boast of.

Why I praise the Man City is because they play a highline which is more open and susceptible to counter attacks. Despite their open style they have conceded less goals than Chelsea.

Man city have really not had world class CBs,probably Kompany. They benefit from the kind of system they play which you pointed out earlier. Players go in and out of form so that is not a big deal. Afterall, there were times that Stones was constantly on the bench.

I never mentioned Zouma cuz he is very shaky but I still maintain that Christiansen is better than the CBs u guys have in terms of ball playing abilities.

Well, just saying shaa... Because he was also right about Osimhen starting on the bench against Juventus not so long ago when most fans in Italy were expecting him to start and were even mad at Gattuso for not starting him sef after seeing his impact when he came on.

But if legendarytotow is indeed guessing, then his guesses are kinda done with some interesting conviction. wink

Lol... I miss the Blueelf's breakdown of this special football faculty. grin

If only we had better quality than them at backup, I would not even consider them much but it is what it is so they remain in the picture. I hope Calvin Bassey of Rangers can keep improving so he can come offer us backup upgrades in that position. Him and any other with time.
