True we should have not voted for APC. The whole idea behind voting for APC was that Buhari was a messiah that just needed to save us.

But the truth is, if we had voted for PDP, things would have not been better either. PDP 's programme was not much different from APC. PDP had no plans in particular to get us off our dependency on oil...which is where most of our economic problems come from.

Most people who wail about PDP losing and Buhari winning, and those who praise Buhari even now that he has been proven not to be the Messiah, are doing so because they want to chop money. Nigeria and its progress matters not to them

The only solution is regional system of government or complete secession. The country is not working and can never work with the current system

The eastern region saw apc and its candidate for who he truly is. Though people were feedup of pdp but majority voted out of sentiments and trying to spite the Igbos. Apc did not fool anyone, rather people fooled themselves. It's like voting in those nairaland resident zom.bies into elective offices and expecting a sincere government? Smh.

Actually, PDP was voted out not because of Igbos but because of a variety of issues

1.They were not doing well on the economic and security front. A lot of Northerners voted for APC in 2015 because of all the bombings that happened up North., Boko Haram, kidnapping, for example. And the economy was already failing. (NOI stated frankly that whoever won in 2015 would get a failing economy because of falling oil prices.

2.PDP lost the Middle Belt. Had PDP won Kogi, Kwara and Benue as they had always done...GEJ would have been out by 2019...but the party was divided in those states, plus in Benue, the vote was not about GEJ and Buhari, but about how badly Susmwam had done in the previous 8 years.

Your points are valid. Pdp really messed up and a lot them became arrogant and its repeating its self now in apc members in power. Though the hate towards Igbos was also a driving force in 2015 elections. But my worries is how people still voted apc for a second tenure, it baffles me. Even Abuja people voted against apc due to their failure.

The problem we are having in Nigeria is lack of four sight and hatred. Imagine if Nigerians what the igbos saw or believed the igbos?. I believe we would have been better off.

Nope. Nigeria won't have been better with a PDP or APC win in 2015.

The problem with our economy is that it is dependent on the price of oil. And because of our large populaiton and needs, oil has to be at a very very high price before it can sustain all of us well.

The only way to survive is by becoming an actively exporting industrial economy. And neither APC or PDP have any plans or ideas to get us there.

There was no 419, every right thinking person then knows that these ppl were lying from their pedigrees and were propelled by the lust for power, tribalism and hatred for a section of the country whom they believe were in power , just like one afonja guy was telling me that he never understood the fuel subsidy removal campaign under Jonathan and that he now understands it now and shud be removed , ofcos the underlying issue is the tribal world view of the ppl , every issue is looked at thru that lens. The biggest problem in Nigeria is tribalism.

History and evidence on the ground do not support ur arguments , the party PDP was light years ahead of APC in everything and wud have managed Nigeria with more sincerity and competence which is clearly lacking here , If u ever ride ur mind of base bias , GEJ was in the class of a first world president , the greatest Nigerian president ever , the most patriotic .

I wonder why people still believe 2015 election is about tribal sentiment or a particular person?
was Jonathan the speaker of house of rep courting members to decamp to APC while he was still PDP before his defecion?
was Jonathan the then Senate president who never midwifed any good laws for the masses?
was Jonathan the minister of communication then whose lies had just been surpassed by Lai Muhammed? was Jonathan the inec chairman who rigged election against his principal? etc.
let's go beyond this to move into real nation building if we want Nigeria hence, let everyone goes his own way.

There was no 419. The people knew they were lying but the hatred, ethnicity, and religion was the issue on the front burner. Again some Northern politicians and groups were exhorting money from GEJ and handing the money over to APC's war chest. Miyetti Allah especially even extorted huge sum of money with which they purchased Arms, and imported fighters with connivance of Fulanis in other West African governments. However, where the people were fooled was in not discovering that Fulani has another agenda.

The problem with both parties is that both of them are very incompetent.

Nigeria needs to be free from oil, and to start being an industrial economy. PDP , am sorry to say, had no idea on how to do that.

Plus, if PDP was perfroming well, why was the economy on the downward road from April 2014? Why did NOI state that whoever won the elections in 2015, the economy would be in a bad state.?

NOI said that because after 16 years of PDP rule, we were still dependent on oil revenues to prop up our economy. We still ran a national cake economy. We were still resoruice dependent. And sorry, but if PDP could not change the way our economy was, then they were right to have been voted out in 2015.

As for APC, they are exactly the same. They had a chance to get us off oil, but no, they kept us dependent on oil. They won't even make the hard decisoons that needed to be made like ending price controls on petrol and electricity so that we could attract investment in the billions of dollars to build up both sectors, and by extension begin to develop an economy that is industrial, generates jobs, and ends the chronic unempoyment issues that we have had for generations. Instead, they were doing the same old thing that past government have done, and up till now, they show no signs of changing.

And no, my believing that PDP is bad does not mean I hate your tribe, nor does my beleiving that APC is bad mean that I somehow want to break up Nigeria. I want what is best for this country, and unless both parties wake up to the decisons that need to be made, they should let others who are ready to make those decisons make them

We must get rid of resource dependency and insutrialise. We cannot keep on relying on oil forever.

@ the bolded, No it should not baffle you. Actually I know it would have been a miracle for PDP to win that election. One of the reasons is that of all the candidates that contested, the candidate with the lowest number of fans was Atiku. Any other candidate (in PDP primary election)would have easily defeated Buhari. Atiku was not new to the Villa and there is nothing he has to offer. Most people just decided since the two parties decided to present useless candidates, they simply chose the lesser evil. which is allow Buhari finish his 4 years and hope after that a better candidate would emerge.

If you notice protest against the administration actually started immediately after the election. A sign that the people have no hope for the incoming government

APC remains the most fairly judged administration.

All criticisms against them are drawn primarily from the promises & utterances they made...

It just goes to show how dubious & deceptive they are...
