Some banks would actually allow you to quote your rate even where your fund is not up to 50m. An example of such Bank is fidelity. However, other banks would tell you to go with the bank rates ibechris: |

For now, secondary Market is not attractive. Patiently waiting for 364 days to hit double digits too. |

cucumbar:Fbn quest is about 2.3%-2.5%. Stanbic and fbn used to be amongst the best but their rates has been extremely poor. Grateful that TB is already coming up |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmanuelewumi(m): 7:13am On Apr 20, 2021 |
Chikebrain: Depends on what they have in their portfolio, Abacus Money Market Fund is 2.98% on Friday 16th April 2021 Rate will soon go up with most of the Money Market Funds as they buy 364 days Treasury Bills Investments that should get to 10% by the next auction |

Investment One VGIF is still 4.5%, I think it is still one of the best at the moment. Please contact emmasoft if you want to subscribe. It is not too smart to tie down your money in 365days t-bills at the moment, because better options with good rates like new bonds or Sukkuk bond will show up before year end or early next year. |

Donbrig: It won't be reviewed until end of June 2021. I think United Capital Money Market Fund can get to 8% by end of June. It was 4% yesterday

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Donbrig: 11:12am On Apr 20, 2021 |
You are right Sir, I think Investment One should be reviewing rates more often rather than waiting every 6 months before review, though it has advantage and disadvantage, because if rates are low, you could still be earning high rates from old fixed rates on VGIF before it gets reviewed downwards after 6months. However, no matter how smart you position your funds, you can't always have advantage in the market. I hope things really gets better in weeks/months to come. We are waiting patiently like our politicians are waiting for 2023 elections. emmanuelewumi: |

emmanuelewumi:Obvious choice of any sane human. You have money, you have good health and free enough to spend the money as you desire and flaunt the healthy status. Wtf is social status?! It would only even drag you down or hinder you from enjoying the freedom to the fullest. 1 Like |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmanuelewumi(m): 1:01pm On Apr 20, 2021 |
Macktaob: Are you sure? Social wealth is also powerful oooo, especially in our materialistic environment where we want respect and approval from the populace |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Macktaob(m): 1:03pm On Apr 20, 2021 |
emmanuelewumi:That respect and approval are only meant to compensate happiness(rub one's ego, some will term it). So, with enough money and good health, one should have enough happiness beyond his comprehension hence making social status less desirable at the expense of any of the other 3 options. 1 Like |
