Why suicide?? I hope these students are old enough to be in the university?? University is not an easy place to be, one must be matured enough especially in a school like OAU, where results can make you grow sick.

However suicide is not the answer. You don't own your life, why end it??

Run to Jesus for he cares for you... School fellowship helped me a lot during my University years

My year one at OAU back in 2001, 88 students matriculated. Only 12 of us graduated. 8 had extras. 68 were expelled or willingly dropped out due to failing grades.

They should investigate the reason why they decided to take their lives, maybe it would help proffer solution.

This is appalling. I am using this privilege to appeal to our leaders. if you are in a position to change life please do. Don't waste the God bless resources in nonsense. People are dying, help someone with school fees, solve problems.

People are dying because of bad Govt policies and a lack of welfare for students. No supports, funds, scholarship and care. Gone were those days when we get grants and even before you finish unilag, companies are waiting to pick you.

This is a bad time for Nigeria students.

God will help us in Jesus name.

We have bad and oppressive systems with no care for the weak and defenseless. Even our education system is horrible.

I understand that our system of education is very rigid and some courses can actually become a curse, but suicide is not the answer. The fact that you are failing a course or two doesn't mean you not brilliant. The only thing is that you are not catching up at the speed required. You can always try something else. With my MSc many of my mates stopped at secondary school, the other I saw a immediate junior while in secondary school, he's into cow skin trading with his school cert. Oh boy, PHD doesn't quarantied success o. MAY GOD LEAD US TO A RIGHT PATH. AMEN. NO TO SUICIDE!

No university is easy bro, not even National Open University. The supposed "easy schools" are the toughest when you're finally there.

On another note, our attitude towards education in the south-west is do or die. Lecturers act like a Mafia organization, students act like sheep cos they are afraid of speaking up, and rightly so, so the victimisation continues. Who knows what those guys were passing through... Such a pity.

It's all about perception. There's a whole world outside college and grades don't determine level of success in life. I attended OAU and my time at the school was mad fun.

I will be turning 30 by January, 1/5 of what I will want to accomplish in this life I feel I have not started. I dey calculate say patapata in the next 5 years i suppose don marry or born pikin, which ever comes first. But all these small small boys go dey drink sniper like zobo, or carry rope hang themselves. Wetin una dey hurry to die for, una no wan flex this life? We go all still finally die, but no be now, and no be say na you carry your hand take kill yourself. I wan reach old age, retire, dey sit in front of my mansion dey chill, my grandchildren running around disturbing me. Experience and enjoy the full package of life, nobody live knows what happens on the other side of death, but I'm not in a hurry to find out cos I know I eventually will. But not now. Get the hell out of your depression, what is wrong with you? No matter what it is, it's all in your head. If you're not happy, it's just you. It's doesn't mean everyone is unhappy like you. Why are you cheating yourself out of the wonders in life. I can't wait to travel to Jamaica, relaxing by the beach, sipping coconut juice. If you're depressed and you want to die, well enjoy, but some of us know that in the mist of all the BS, there are still things in life worthy to keep on living for.
