Nothing barbaric about this! It's culture plain and simple! And in an era where traditions are eroding away day by day and generation after generation, it's refreshing to see the presence of the old in today's world. I'm stunned to see people who can't even speak their native language and only know how to speak Pidgin or English.



Also, I don't know if you are intentionally being disingenuous, but most people don't prostrate fully directly on dirt as you make it sound. There are levels and variations to courtesy and greetings.
