There is this common feud between some mother-in-laws and wives that is still a mystery which gave rise to this question. grin

Ladies, if your mother-in-law is still alive, how would you feel if your husband hangs pictures of her on the wall? I can understand if she is dead but alive, would you welcome it ?

Any lady I intend to spend the rest of my life with should have it at the back of her mind that my mother is my second God and I will splash her portrait anywhere in the house.

Though my mom is not the type that would encourage me to take the love I have for her to the extreme.

Lemme hear from the ladies here sha. cheesy

Why would the MIL's picture be framed on the wall?

I thought picture frames showcased the husband wife(s) and children? undecided

This is for the Mama's boys who refuse to leave and cleave. His Mummy dictates everything even to what his wife just wear.

I don't mind one bit. Funny enough she was the one who snapped, enlarged and framed a picture of hers which she sent to us and it's hanging in our sitting room next to my FIL's.

I Wouldn't feel bad if he hangs pictures of his mum on the wall. I would gladly bring out pictures of my own mum and dad and also hang on the walls. With that, our kids can easily identity their grandparents. kiss

What a troublesome question... grin

If you are in the mood and just want to start a quarrel with your wife for the fun of it, then go ahead and broach this subject to her.

You will get either of these two reactions:
1. She will become upset, and she will express it immediately.
2. She will become upset, but she will pretend she is fine with it... until a latter date. Lol

ALL women will fall into one of the two categories above, NONE is exempt... but be more careful around those women who fall into the second category. cheesy

I hope the man will also feel comfortable having his mother-in-law pictures hanging on the wall, so that the children will easily recognize both of their grandmothers, since their pictures hanging in their own husbands' house is not enough! cheesy cheesy

Lest I forget, the pictures must also be hung in the couples' bedroom. grin

If he wants his mothers picture on the wall then she should also put her mothers picture on the wall.

Simple.

I believe its parents that have thier kids pics on the wall and not the other way around.

I honestly and sincerely love the response of ladies above, I like that no one indulge the guys here and Op for trying to start unnecessary banter between females, even the one trying desperately hard to portray his comment as 100% fact when it is just just a figment of his imagination and limited thought process, every single thing that happens in a family shouldn't result to issues or disagreements,

If the husband likes he should display a picture of his mum breastfeeding him in front of their home so that visitors and passersby can see it, that's his cup of shayi

Once again ladies, love y'all kiss

What's the essence and relevance of this question? undecided

We are talking about your parents' picture; so what exactly do you think the problem will be for a wife if her MIL’s picture is hanging on the wall? undecided

It’s more or less saying that you as a married man hangs your mothers' picture on the wall and your wife has a problem with it; tell me, how would you feel? undecided Why not let’s start from there since you think that hanging a parents' picture on the wall should become a problem for a wife.undecided

There are more important things to worry about than this unnecessary question. Enough said cool

The question is just strange to me.

I have never seen a home where the parents' pictures are hung except if the couple is living in the man's parents' house.

What I know is that their family album contains the family members of both couples.

The first time I heard women had issues with a man hanging his mum picture on the wall was on a Chris rock show.

He said “The only man that owns something is a single man. When you get married you own nothing, Absolutely nothing. Men if you think you own your house, hang your mama’s picture on the wall. It will disappear so fast, the next time you see it will be on your mums funeral. Your wife wife will be like babe see what I found cleaning out the room. You can use it for the obituary”

Except your MIL looks scary and is capable of inducing nightmares in kids, I see no reason why anyone should get mad about a picture.

Maybe only you should live in the house..it’s not by force to get married because when I’m married the house becomes ours.

I don’t count this as something that matters at all.
Family pictures are welcome.

I only have issues with disrespect.

Little things like these are inconsequential. People focus on the wrong things all the time. Women who have problems with little things like this often miss when bigger issues that can actually affect them and their future come up. Because they are focused on pictures, who seats in the front seat, who dished food from their pot, petty things etc, they miss important things.
