Bullshit, focus on the discussion at hand and stop spewing shits about radiography related words you just saw online. The truth still remain that in private establishments, radiologists in Nigeria don't earn much. Most of them earn by per film interpreted basis. In fact it's rare to see a radiologist that works full time in a private centre. Most of them are part time workers. As for the special exams, most Radiographers are the ones doing it in private centres. I know radiographers that do lumbar puncture very well.

Oga show me your badge. I have shown you mine or did I get the picture above online? Maybe borrow someone’s badge.
First, let me make you recall that a radiologist has to be a fully qualified Medical Doctor before even going into the specialty. I then wonder what other professional earns more than a doctor as far as salary scale is concerned even in Nigeria?

I repeat, radiologist are not your mate. That title is about 14years if University education.
Let’s even go by your analogy of reading reports only.
Do you know that a radiologist can set up his system in his room and read more than 100 images in one day.
With just the voice transcription technology and digitally acquired images over Dicom through an enterprise network, that is all he needs.
In his pajamas and a cup of coffee in the other hand, he could talk into the mouth piece and reports are generated and transmitted securely to different facilities anywhere in the world.
When you have the necessary education, you advance from being a technical person to a Knowledge worker.
Please use your brain. If a radiologist reads 100 mri, ct exams in one day in his bed room he makes 5000 x 100 (naira) = 500k without leaving his house.
They are different categories of people.just know that ok.

Okay, I understand your point

Let me share this radiology related billion dollar worth of business idea with you, even if you don't have the resources. Although I know that someone else will steal it. It would be the first of it kind in Nigeria.

Problem to be solved: Because most imaging centers in Nigeria lack access to radiologist, imaging reports are not reviewed by licensed MD for quality and accurate diagnostic purpose leading to suboptimal service delivery . The goal of this business plan is to develop a solution for seamless, safe, secure and accurate radiologic imaging report. The efficiency of this process will bring about timely and quality care for patients while reducing cost for organizations and their clients.

1)First on plan and design, you must assemble the right team.

An information system technologist.
A computer scientist
A radiographer
Sales rep/ Financial personal

2)Equipment and others needed

At least 20 units of digitalizers for image conversion from film to digital (For 20 private imaging centers).
An office space
Moderate office furniture
PC systems ( 4 UNITS)
Modem and servers
Scanner and printer
Highspeed internet connection
Generator
subscription to PACS or Teleradiology
A vehicle

3) Implementation
Approach private imaging centers to subscribe for the service
Install one digitalizer for every center that subscribed
The center will need a Laptop with internet connection
Once film images are acquired and scan images are obtained, they are digitalized and routed to your remote center office.
From the office, images are sent through PACS for group of offsite radiologists to read and report. This service is already available through Teleradiology companies.
Within minutes results are transmitted back to the remote office.
Results are then forwarded to the subscribing imaging center.
Turn around time in the workflow is less than one hour form image acquisition to report
Charge the centers per report
An App could be developed for all these and cloud storage could be used for large data. In fact smartphones and tablets could streamline the whole process and reduce cost of equipment.

4)The money
Lets say each day, your office gets 50 images from each of the 20 centers and make #500 from each. That would be 1000 x 500 = #500k everyday.

Smile to the bank.

Note
Please if you steal this business plan, remember to keep my royalty. Just 5% of your profit.

To be honest with you, it's pharmacy.

There is this logic of being your own master. In any hospital, the head of pharmacy department and the top dogs in the department are all pharmacists.
In same hospitals, the head of radiology department are strickly doctors called radiologist. Radiographers are not radiologists. Radiographers expose pateotns to radiation of xrays, CT scan, MRI etc and that's where their work ends. This images are by themselves useless for clinical practice unless they are interpreted to help make a diagnosis. Only radiologist are entitled to interpret radiographic images. As a radiographer, you'll be under the shadow of a radiologist for life. Even if you venture into private practice, no doctor worth their name will send patients to you and rely on your interpretation. Whatever a radiographer knows about image interpretation, the average doctor knows and know even more. For more complex image studies, input of specialist doctors called radiologsts are sorted so as a radiographer, you'll still be under the shadow of the radiologists even in private practice.

If working for people is your thing, go for radiography.
If being your own boss is the idea. Go for pharmacy. Both pays. Some radiographers earn more than some pharmacst and some pharmacists earn more than some radiographeras it will profit you to know that the average pharmacist earns more than the average radiographer both in private and government agencies.

Those who enjoy radiology are the doctors called radiologist.

I hope this helps
Good morning how can I be a radiologist them

Go for Radiography it is not flooded like Pharmacy and opportunities are there for them. For instance, if there be an invitation for jobs for medical graduates of all medical lines. Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists will definitely apply in their large number but Radiographer will be in the least of those applications.

I hope you make the best choice.

Lol you made a mistake boss.

Radiography have less openings, so they admit little to curtail the shorts.

Radiography? That's too dumb and unequivocal. How would you compare an Independent course like Pharmacy to a Course that beg Medicine for foodgringrin. Radiography can never ever make you rich. Radiographers are not even useful in field work sef. Radiography is not to be compared to Pharmacy in any form. You should compare Radiography to Medical Laboratory Science na im level be that. Big boys are talking then one Omo ise dey chook headgrin? Even in field work Medical Laboratory Science even beat Radiography.
A Radiographer in the US and UK earn lower than a Pharmacist abeg. OP so because they're all health related you should compare them?
In a Country where Pharmacy visits is more than normal, I totally give you Pharmacy. Pharmacy is harder than Radiography sef so what's the comparison? No spoil my bele abeg.
Tell me a Renowned a Radiographer and I will show you a Renowned Medical Laboratory Scientist.
Professions like Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography were created to aid work of Physicians same with Pharmacy Technologist.
Why am I stressing myself? Choose Radiography for job, Choose Pharmacy to be boss

Don't mind this guy.
He is a trouble maker he has not gotten admission, and if he had, he has not passed the Premed stage.

Veto guy, come and buy rabbies vaccine, you can't own your own vet Pharmacist without a Pharmacist. Your aspiring course took PCN to court but lost out after their vet are sealed.

In this NIGERIA, Pharmacy is a strong force.

Pharmacisist should never prescribe drugs cos they are not licenced to do so but not in Nigeria.
They claim drs, lab technicians etc.
Pharm is dead in Nigeria and will never advice anybody I know to do that.
Do we have pharm companies in Nigeria at all?
Don't add emzor and juhel.

Another ignoramus.

Yeah Pharmacist should not Prescribe, Doctors should not dispense.

We have both now.

Is that what you are trained to do?
To sell your licence to the highest bidder?

Apart from but vit c and para, what can pharmacists in Nigeria produce.
Very dead profession.

Let me search for the article released not long ago on how to revive naija pharm image and profession.

You are a lady pharm, you probably end up with shop where half is provision store and half imported drugs.

Most chemist owners are better at the drug prescription sef.

Lol I bought a Brand Ketoconazole ,made in sango otta.

I bought several branded product from that Pharmacist, they sell only Nigerian drugs.

I guess you don't even know how drugs are made.

But it's fine shine on with the pain.

I can understand.

oga nor mistake radiologist who are doctors plus extra 4-6 years training on radiology to radiography which is just an image technologist.
so know your fact before you yearn and beside pharmacy school is not for any Harry and Larry the marathon classes from 7am to 6pm(sometimes Saturday) from year two to 3 can break any man.
before we talk of the fail 5 courses out of the possible 30 courses(including separate practicals) repeating system.
so find your facts first there is a reason pharmacy is one of the most strict profession even after graduation.
Lol

I'm so sorry to break your bubble sir, the Veterinary Council were smart enough to quickly amend their constitution to include "veterinary drugs and allied products" which was passed in the Senate and signed into law, hence the case in now at the appeal court and status quo has been told to be maintained. That was why the PCN, now quickly rushed to start up B.Vet Pharm as a degree course, which was also dead on arrival. If you want I can furnish you with documents to back it up, or you can simply google "veterinary premises act" and see the latest list of premises listed under the purview of the VCN. I hope this helps. One more thing Sir, in Nigeria and anywhere in the world a Veterinarian and a Pharmacist are not on the same level, a Veterinarian is higher in hierarchy than a pharmacist, a simple google search would confirm my assertion. So that Veto guy as far as the civil service is concerned, is your boss.

If you have a degree in pharmacy from Nigeria and move to the US, here is what you will face . You will have to do another 3 -4 years for you to have doctorate before you can practice. But should you want to branch out into radiology, a radiography program would take you about 18months to obtain a license.

but what if u already had doctor of pharmacy degree in Nigeria would they still be need for the doctorate
