Hello guys, I will be going for my visa interview on the 6th.
The program I would be going for is a Masters in Management in information systems and specializing in Business intelligence systems.
I am unsure of how to explain "why am I not doing it in Nigeria?".
I did my research and I discovered that two major schools (Covenant university and Lagos Business school) offer that program already.
I know for sure that the standard of education is light years apart, But I don't know how to articulate a convincing reason.
How would you explain why you are not doing such a program in your home country?

You can talk about exposure. Learning in an environment with different people from various countries in the world would benefit more than in your home country. If you have funding too, you can leverage on that as well.

Is it also okay to say that "I also feel there are things I could learn from businesses in a more developed country that I can apply when I return". Is that okay to add?

For your TOEFL registration, kindly contact Walspring, he helped with mine. I'd like to appreciate the people assisting those working towards funding here, by assisting with the part payment of their fees, may God bless y'all.

#Gracias.

Here is my 2 Cents:

Your course already looks like one that is in demand in today's Business Climate so that's a good start point.
You can look for sub-fields under BI and mention that Nigerian Universities that offer that course don't have that concentration (if you are asked why not Nigeria?)
It's important that you do not "under-sell" or tacitly rubbish your home Country while answering this question. So i would advise you take out words like "exposure", "developed country..." and the likes. It's comes off as being an intending immigrant (even if we all know that's the intention, more often time than not).
You should instead focus on why the specific concentration you are looking to acquire knowledge in, the need for it in Nigeria and how you plan to return home home with the new knowledge and utulize them in specific Organizations and industry.

All the best and God's Grace on Thursday.

This is noted. What is your recommendation?

There's nothing you can do. if you wanted to fill another ds-160 or transfer your Sevis payment to another school, it's possible but changing of school after you've secured an appointment is impossible.

Please my sponsor just sent me her statement of account. The one generated via Gtbank online banking

It’s signed and stamped

She said I should print it out.

She said she’s too busy to go to bank and queue up to get statement, since it’s the same thing with the online generated one

Please can I use it for my visa interview
It’s actually signed and stamped

No cause for alarm. You are good to go. The Chinese would say 'Te mba sam'. Which means same thing.

Someone, please help!

Have you been able to pay?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by FutureSenator: 2:27am On May 02, 2021
MelaninGemstone:
Easiest way to get a visa is if you are
-Married
-Have travel history (even if it’s one country abroad)
-Have good funding with little deficit

If you ain’t got this three things, your visa na just try your luck

This is very wrong.

You can get visa whether you are single or married, whether you have travel history or not, and even without funding.

In fact, if you check the history of this thread from Part 1, you will see that most successful applicants have little funding, have no travel history and are not even married.

@MelaninGemstone, If you have issues with your visa application, we are all here to help you..

You have been told no available dates, the important question now is, have you checked by yourself and seen there are no dates?

Hello house, kindly guide me on the following:

1. Do I need to submit my bank statement with my bank reference letter to the school to get my F1-20?

2. Must I submit same reference letter and bank statement to the embassy when going for my interview?

Thank you all for what you do.

Hi everyone,
I trust all you amazing guys here are having a great weekend?
Please I'm trying to complete my DS160 and I'd like to know the response I may enter on this part of the form - Have you made specific travel plans?

Also, I'm looking at traveling a month before resumption, would that have any impact on application?

Thanks

hi.
1. I know of schools requesting proof of funding prior provision of i20. Don't know about the Ref letter. Check in with your school to know their requirement.
2.Go with both if you have.
