You are totally blind to the callousness of the applicant because of a personal experience with HRs just admit it, the hr did nothing wrong, the applicant did everything wrong.
The HR did everything wrong in all aspects. All these degrading tactics will work for a desperate job seeker because the applicant is psychologically in need and most HRs prey on that.
For an experienced hire you dare not try such nonsense. The applicant reaction is understandable and he even forgave the stupid HR. The HR is lucky, some won't let it go.
The HR job is to bring capable hands on a particular job not to play God instead. No wonder the profession is the most hated.I am guessing you are one.

Yinmu.

If he knows the CEO on a personal basis, then what's he doing submitting CV?

Why not go to the CEO directly and ask him for the job?

You guys will believe anything.

Just ask yourself, if you were close enough to Dangote to have his personal phone number, would you write an "I beg to apply..." letter to any Dangote company?

What are you saying for goodness sake? So, cos your friend is the CEO of a company. You think he will just give you a job without following through due process. Who actually does that? If Dangote wanna offer his best friend a job position in his company. He will still have to apply. That's how its done in any organization with structure. Pls go and confirm!

Confirm what? Lol

You must be joking right?

Please, tell me this is your attempt at humour.

Do you think that Zahra, Buhari's daughter actually wrote an application letter to be on the board of NNPC where she's being paid huge amount of salary as we speak?

Do you think that Prince Harry wrote an application letter before he was appointed to work at a tech company in the US, Better up Inc. California?

Do you think the sister of the first lady of Ondo state who had just finished NYSC write an "I beg to apply..." letter before she got an appointment from governor Akeredolu as a PA to the governor?

You guys are really naive sha.

Read the last paragraph of my comment you quoted and rest.

I’m not saying hire him or not. Just don’t tell him what u think he’s best suited for especially when not on same job level.

U are not in any position to that and if u trying to help and not be insultive, there are better and less offensive ways to say it since the applicant didn’t ask u for it. My precise point. Cheers

Your friend is rude, arrogant and entitled. He should be thankful he was even invited for an interview in THIS economy. He can't even write a formal note or communicate professionally. Which one is "I'm confused". All because of MSc in Health Economics.

Some of us went for MSc a top unis in the UK. The certificate is great and all but you still need the experience. When we came back I still came and did internships of N7,500, 15,000 and even 93k. I got enough experience to start earning even more. My last job was 450k and I've left for something much better.

Drop that pride and don't take every feedback as an "insult" or "spite". Too many people are begging to get "offended" these days. NO one wants such a toxic person in their company. The organization reserves the right to change the position you applied for. He didn't want it, he should have simply said no thanks and moved on.
Oga, you sound proud. Talk to urself first
