President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday pledged said his administration is working hard to tackle insecurity confronting the nation and he hopes Nigerians understand.

Speaking to journalists at the State House shortly after observing the Eid prayer, marking the end of the month-long Ramadan fast, President Buhari said that the menace of bandits and kidnappers will be addressed to ensure that the nation’s food security is not threatened.

“With the resources and manpower available to us, we are working very hard. We are hoping Nigerians will understand the problem. Nigerians know at what stage we came in in 2015, what state we are today both on security and the economy and we are doing our best. shocked

“The law enforcement agencies are working hard to regain confidence against the bandits, so that we can go back to the land. This is very important. This is what the agencies are busy doing right now. We want people to go back to the land so that we can get enough food for the country and even export,” he said.

He also appealed to Nigerians for more understanding of the current situation in the country.

He said his administration will use all available resources and manpower in dealing with bandits to ensure that they did not create havoc against access to farms and food production in the coming growing season.

“I expect Nigerians to be more understanding on the issues involved, looking at the time and available resources. For example, when we came in, in the Northeast, ask people in Adamawa and Borno States and the South-South in terms of security. Without security, you can’t do anything. Our big surprise and disappointment is what is happening in the Northwest and we are dealing with it,” said the President.

Explaining ongoing efforts to tackle the security situation in the country by the administration, President Buhari drew attention to the series of long meetings held in recent weeks, chaired by him, saying that a part of resolutions had been made public by the National Security Adviser and the others kept secret.

He also commended the National Assembly for its support, saying that “the National Assembly is cooperating very well. Within the resources available, they are certainly giving us priority on our (military) requests.”

President Buhari then made an appeal to the nation’s elite to show a better appreciation of the problems facing the country.

“The elite should make the attempt to understand the military. If we order weapons and armored vehicles, it takes time for the manufacturers. It takes time to ship them and when brought here eventually, they are taken to training institutions, train the trainers before sending them to the field. This is a very long process.” shocked

President Buhari and members of his family were joined for the Eid at the forecourt of the Villa by the President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmed Lawan, the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, cabinet members, and the heads of security and intelligence agencies.

This man keeps generating excuses for his incompetence and laxity . And I'm sure that he doesn't have a plan on how to tackle the insecurity in the country.

No, we aware not understanding you people regarding the insecurity in the country.

Southern region are trying their best in making their region safe and bring sanity back while the region Buhari is from North are not ready to stop the madness going in their region.

Foreign terrorist sponsors have relocated to Nigeria because they know that kidnapping and ransom is lucrative in Nigeria because our mumu government would pay.

Even though we are aware the Military regime bastardized the army structure, if the past democratic elected had never looked into it, what's stopping this government from restructuring army on its own..

You don't climb a tree in search of fish.. It's obvious there are so many saboteurs in the army both serving and Ex. Why sending our gallant soldiers into the war which their superior in army are going to double cross them and claimed it was Boko Haram..

The unrest in Northern Nigeria is all about money, those crooks in the army and government are not ready to stop the war as they are benefitting from the war biggerly.

It's backward to read on news that Nigerians are still killing themselves in the 21st century.. Which country dem no know Boko haram.

Mr President, pls act like one and stop all the unnecessary killings in the country.. I understand you guys are doing your best, but I don't think is enough..

Always sound clueless as usual. If the gross failure of security with atrocious and treasonable elements reigning supremely across this failed contraption of a nation, them save us and take us back to 2015.

Even your home state Kastina was safe and secured then.Is it not a shame that your backyard is now the headquarters of bandits with Kastina people now fleeing to Niger Republic to seek refuge?

May it not be well with any APC member that always refers is back to 2015 anytime they want to talk about security challenges we are facing! Next you will hear "the number of LG areas captured by BH, Bomb blast even in Abuja" as what happened in 2015. Forgetting that elections held in all the LGs in 2015(unless they wanna tell us that elections didn't hold there and that the figures announced were forged.
With the current security situation, there may never be an election in the South East, North West, North East
