Hello my experienced people.

Please I need help ASAP.

I applied for Engineering Physics program and SEVIS placed it as "Physics" on my I-20 letter.
A) Should I put it as it is "Physics" on my DS-160 form and then explain to the VO that I'll specialize in Engineering Physics?
Or otherwise

Meanwhile, the school told me this when I asked for a change:

It cannot be changed. They do not know why SEVIS made it that way. The CIP code for Engineering Physics is 40.0801 which is also considered to be "Physics, General"
*This is the information that must be in SEVIS. For some reason, SEVIS considers 40.0801 to be "Physics, General." It is okay that the name does not exactly match up with the name of your program because the CIP code matches. It is correct and cannot be changed to anything else*.

Thanks in anticipation of your response.

My advice is obtain BGSU I20 and use it for visa, then if you're keen on going to SIT then transfer when you get to USA....that 60k no be am...I'm even surprise you said you can afford it....E be like say you go cut small money for me grin grin

Hello Scholar,

For me, I think in my previous DS-160 form, salary was N300k. Now N600k/month.
In my F-1 personal fund support = Approx $6k
Family/Uncle = $24k
GA = $10k

Please I hope putting N600k in my ds-160 form won't be an issue?

If your salary is genuine, why are you then asking for NairaLander's validation.

I need a response on this please.

olaife123:
Hello Fairheart and other amazing people.

Please I need your help on which statement of account to use:

I will be sponsoring myself and I have 2 options. Please help me select the best option and let me know your reasons.

Background: My program costs $27,500k no funding (13m if USD is 500). and I have proof of funds in my account equivalent to 24m. The money is in 4 different accounts: 5m, 5m, $13k, 2m and 6m(in properties I would sell in few weeks).

3 of the accounts don't have any real history in the past 6 months, I just save the money in the account, no other transactions. but the one with 3m has a transaction history and inflow and outflow of 30m in the past 6 months.

Here are the options I am considering. Please I will need advice on the best way to go about it. Thank you

Option 1: Take the 4 statements of account and explain that I save money in different accounts because I don't want all my money to be in one place. (3 of the accounts has just 1 or 2 page statement)

Option 2: Transfer all the money into the account that has significant inflow and outflow. (Wont this raise a red flag to the VO that I tried building the account within a short time)

I am yet to get my i20. My program starts in Fall 2021.

Here is a little background: I work in my father's construction company and I oversee many of the activities.

PS: I also have another admission with 9k funding but 44k cost of attendance.
PPS: Which exchange rate does the embassy use?
PPPS: I also have other landed properties. 2 are with renowned lagos real estate companies, and other ones are family lands I bought, Can I demonstrate home ties with this? Should I mention it to the VO? Will a lawyers document/court affidavit count as proof of ownership?

I will appreciate swift and clear responses. Thank you once again

Hello scholars,

Thanks to everyone that has been contributing to this thread, I have been following up closely. I have a question please;

If I apply for an emergency interview more than 60 days before my school resumption date will it be granted? if no, will that affect my chances of applying again or I can still reapply for emergency interview when I am within the 60 days interval?

NB: I am applying for an F-1 visa and the date I currently booked is too late for my program. According to the traveldocs website I am supposed to wait until it's 60 days to resumption before applying for emergency interview (that would be June ending) but I am tired of waiting, i want to clear the interview stage so that I can face other aspects of my preparation.

Kindly advise.

Who are you and what's this attack for goodness sake! My question was not even directed to you but holar..

Besides, the motive of my Q was to avoid the mistake @MelaninGemstone made on her form and learn from that experience.

do you think they can still reschedule at this time?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by TEMIT0PE: 11:52am On May 18, 2021
You can apply outside of the 60 days window.
Worst that will happen is that it will be denied and in which case you can still apply again when you are within the 60 days window.
You will still be allowed to use emergency even if you were denied an initial emergency request.
You might even be lucky to have it granted if you explain in detail your reason for applying outside of the 60 days window.

I need a response on this please.

The embassy uses 420 exchange rate to calculate your naira in your Statement of Account to dollar. That is the exchange rate as at now.

Same exchange rate for visa fee:
Visa fee is $160 x 420 = 67,200

So recalculate what you calculated at 500 with 420
