NCC no get work at all...instead make dem pressure Ntwrk Providers to make data & calls cheaper 4 Nigerians....na this rubbish dem wam begin worry over ?
Omo Nigeria is on a long thing with this cursed administration aswear...wetin concern Nigerian Government with Phone IMEI ?
Is that a priority now ?

Before I used to think that stupidity is worse than ignorance, but you have proved me wrong. In your big head with small brain, what is priority is to give you cheap data while criminals are allowed to have a field day snatching people's phones and wiping all the money they have toiled for?

Kai Kai Kai.
Some of you really deserve Nigeria.

I just feel sad for your mindset. Are you really ready for a better country?

This is the standard world over, you cannot use a stolen phone abroad, once it is reported stolen.

What NCC needs to tell us is how they intend to collect the numbers.

I am sure we o not have to go queue up anywhere.

You are not ready for a better Nigeria

Just try to learn if you don't understand rather than just typing, are you a mobile phone robber?
One of the advantages is that you can block your phone when it's stolen and so no network will allow it to work.
It happens in other countries, they didn't ask you to bring money

Some of una dey smoke sewage pipe early in the morning.

This Pantami boy no get advisers and family.....

Nigerians would come for him again and drag him through mud

Anyways it's a very good innovation.... Phone thieves would run out of business, if phone IMEI is registered to an individual

.
Same question I ask, what if he is my Father, friend or maybe my brother.

Good development

We must rid our society of criminals by fire by force. From the comments we read on twitter and nairaland, it is obvious we currently have more evil people in the country than the good ones

Most Southerners are just foolish. Our people don't realize that all these Gestapo policies the evil Buhari gunment are rushing to implement is not about improving security. The fact is these evil Fulanis don't want to give up power to the South in 2023, because they want to implement their complete Fulanisation agenda of Nigeria and Buharis 8 years is not enough to get the job done. They know that with all the evil and nepotistic abuse of power by Buhari at all levels of government, if power returns to the South by 2023, all their plans will be scattered. So they want to have an effective way to be able to go after and silence all those that oppose their plan to keep power in the hands of Fulanis in 2023. This is was how Hitler killed all opposition in Germany. The entire South should wake up fast. Fulani War is at our doorstep already. Igbos, Yorubas and Niger Delta should unite now and send these evil terrorists Fulanis back to the Futa Jalonhellfire they came from

To restrict the usage of a stolen device and hence control the instances of theft..Also owners can registered with their phone numbers. Whenever the device is used with a different Sim Card, a notification is sent to the registered mobile number of the owner. I believe you want to know the number that was using your phone when it gets stolen

Oga, u said phone registration will reduce CRIME. Except u don't no what CRIME is or u think crime is restricted to phone stealing, I don't see anything u have said that supports ur assertion that phone registration will reduce crime
Re: Nigerians To Submit Phone IDs In Three Months - NCC by Bahun(m): 8:19am On May 21, 2021
Bro with the NIN reg. How many criminals have been brought to book?
Richy4:

Very simple... the criteria of purchasing any simpack is always that you register it there and then before it will be handed to you... it usually takes 2mins to register at any shop...That will reduce crime alot in Nigeria... I'm even surprised that it has not been introduced in Nigeria in this modern time...Every shop that sells sim is linked with network providers...

Think well the cons of that outweighs the benefits. You can still blacklist a stolen phone in the database without the help of any network provider. How happy are you to be traced to your house once you say something that is against the govt. This si a communist move like some Asian countries but his time, we wont stop at that but also introduce Jihad in full.

It will reduce the effect of mobile phone thefts... It has many advantages... even the the UK has that law...Australia uses Cell phone numbers to certify their own IMEI that was why I mentioned the sim...Just google it...It will help Nigerians alot to track certain miscreants...

Mention the law in Western World where this obsolet and outdated method of policing is adopted? So we can dig it out. Private phone is private property.

Haven't you heard about right to privacy?

Dont you know phone is a private property?

You guys need Help.

The govt just want to invade people privacy, track Opposition, social Media activitist etc....read between the line. Government dies Not care about phone thief...dont be decieved.
You really need help.

There's nothing like privacy once you get a machine or device with access to the internet.

In the west, you drop your security number (google this) amongst other things when buying a new line, the store you buying a phone notes down your IMEI when buying a new phone for future references (for starters, look up phone insurance fraud) which is why some parts have been fighting for IoT.

Even iPhones collect your data, difference is they use it for themselves instead of selling it.

Summary of it is you have dropped some parts of your information unknowingly, starting from birth certificate, school cert, utility bills, etc.
If this government were serious on tracking you, they don't need your crappy IMEI to do this so stop making it look like it's a big deal.
