shogsman: You either need to stop lying about ever leaving Nigeria or stop taking drugs. It is the height of foolishness to say there is not much difference between Miami and Lagos. Please show us the open gutters in front of houses in Miami if you know you are not being foolish. Follow that by showing us the Balogun market next to the Business District of Miami. Then follow by showing us the potholes in the upmarket areas of Miami. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

samdunzo: Lagos should be competing with Mumbai, not London, NYC or Tokyo. You are comparing Nigerian cities to cities in the richest countries on earth - doesn't tally. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Bagehot: The topic has nothing to do with comparisons, it clearly stated the Lagos is the answer to Miami, not Lagos is like Miami. There's a difference between the 2. Reading and comprehension, please. |

BabaIbo: There's nothing in Nairobi that Lagos does not have and much more as it's by the sea side which Nairobi is not. That Boko Haram is in Nigeria does not make other African nations better, meanwhile Kenya has it's share of terrorism is some regions ok? The bad news coming out of from Nigeria daily does not make other African nations better |

Miami is full of prostitutes and pornstars, but in terms of infrastructure it's far ahead of Lagos.... Yet metrics for growth shouldn't be pictures of high rise buildings owned by a minority 1% of the population while 99% are basically struggling to live, metrics should be based off living standards, In lagos people pay #1.5mill for a 1 bedroom flat at yaba, still have to use diesel generators and pump their water, food is expensive and most things overrated plus stressful. Been living in ibadan for 2 years and my standard of living is far better than most folks in Lagos. Lagos needs to focus on development of it's indiginous population. Develop other areas such as ikorodu(we've been on the 4th mainland brigde for years, epe road is still in a mess). Development and privatization of inter-state railway lines. Improvement of the Lagos-abeokuta-ibadan railway. (Purchase more carriages and make the price affordable). 2 Likes 1 Share |

Goke7:Own version? The days of your lagos-ibadan gutter media propaganda are long gone. We Biafrans control social media today and that's the only place that you can hear and verify truths. We Igbos are the most educated then and now in your beloved nigeria and we have statistics to prove it. Show me your own statistics that disprove my claim. |

Bialegend:I don't see anything wrong with his "should be" We should always try to be better than what we currently are. If Lagos had steady electricity (which should be possible if the national grid was decentralized), well maintained roads, running water and an actual waste management system. Wouldn't it be at least the best city in Africa? |

While driving on 3rd mainland bridge this morning I saw the picturesque view ahead...it was amazing. If not for bad leadership and godfatherism which the state had witnessed since 1999, Lagos would have witnessed much more development today. Anyone who lived in lagos during Buba Marwa Days, would attest to the fact that, that was the time lagios last witnessed real development without making noise. Tinubu came and introduced massive corruption and thuggery( jeun soke, kotun jeun sapo). In 1999, tinubu had no single jet but today, he has 3 private jets woth amazing assets and some gullible minds are just comfortable with his style of leadership...what a pity. Most of the high rising building seen in lagos and the perceived developments aren't caused by tinubu or his godsons. People just fell in love with the aquatic nature and beauty of lagos. Every time I see the hyped lagos literail, I do shake my head. What Pa jakande would have completed in less than 8 years the way he started, had buhari not truncated. J never knew lagos had so much money until when ambode came with his project revolution. Lagos can always get better. 2 Likes |
