Why? Those places you mentioned are not the only places in Lagos. They've been overused by some of you bad belle people as if there are no other places in the state. Even Miami has ghettos and places that look like ajegunle (there's a part of Miami called 'Little Haiti', looks like Mushin and Oshodi). Every country has its ghettos, but they don't project those areas or use them to brand themselves. They always 'put their best foot forward'. You guys just have a habit of spoiling Lagos for reasons best known to you.
80% of Lagos is an eye sore... Don't deceive yourself

Mister I have been to Florida and seen Miami more than once and I put it to you that there is not much difference, apart from low self worth that is affecting you guys what you see has development is skyscrapers right, well China is home to over 70% of the world's skycrapers.
Miami was carved out for hotels, casinos and leisure and that is all there is to it. Apart from the fact that Lagos is like 40times bigger than Miami there is not much difference between them.

From the pictures it looks like they are all Miami shots

You either need to stop lying about ever leaving Nigeria or stop taking drugs.

It is the height of foolishness to say there is not much difference between Miami and Lagos.

Please show us the open gutters in front of houses in Miami if you know you are not being foolish.

Follow that by showing us the Balogun market next to the Business District of Miami.

Then follow by showing us the potholes in the upmarket areas of Miami.

Stop this misinformation. I've been to joburg and it's no where near Miami. Use your head bro.

Lagos should be competing with the likes of NYC, London, and Tokyo. Alot is needed to be done in order to get to that level. Lagos is currently not even close to that. Save for a few areas, the city is mostly filled with overpacked slums. A proper city council should be set up to help the city get to the level it is capable of getting to

Lagos should be competing with Mumbai, not London, NYC or Tokyo. You are comparing Nigerian cities to cities in the richest countries on earth - doesn't tally.

This is SA, what's next?

Low self-esteem and inferiority complex people, always ranting about other countries that are sometimes beneath Nigeria all because of hatred, bitterness, and anti-Nigerian madness.

Are you really not on the worst kind of drugs?

Is that not like Dubai when compared to this:

The topic has nothing to do with comparisons, it clearly stated the Lagos is the answer to Miami, not Lagos is like Miami.

There's a difference between the 2.

Reading and comprehension, please.

It is more developed.

Development has many indices used in measuring it, not just amount of money made or amount of money entering it, please.

There's nothing in Nairobi that Lagos does not have and much more as it's by the sea side which Nairobi is not.

That Boko Haram is in Nigeria does not make other African nations better, meanwhile Kenya has it's share of terrorism is some regions ok?

The bad news coming out of from Nigeria daily does not make other African nations better

Miami is full of prostitutes and pornstars, but in terms of infrastructure it's far ahead of Lagos.... Yet metrics for growth shouldn't be pictures of high rise buildings owned by a minority 1% of the population while 99% are basically struggling to live, metrics should be based off living standards, In lagos people pay #1.5mill for a 1 bedroom flat at yaba, still have to use diesel generators and pump their water, food is expensive and most things overrated plus stressful. Been living in ibadan for 2 years and my standard of living is far better than most folks in Lagos.

Lagos needs to focus on development of it's indiginous population.

Develop other areas such as ikorodu(we've been on the 4th mainland brigde for years, epe road is still in a mess).

Development and privatization of inter-state railway lines.

Improvement of the Lagos-abeokuta-ibadan railway. (Purchase more carriages and make the price affordable).

Of all cuties in the world, you are mentioning miami in the same sentence with Lagos?
Have you ever been to south africa?
Have you ever been to Tanzania?
One of the things I've noticed about most NIGERIANS are over bloated ego fueled by lack of exposure.
Nigeria has not just the problem of corruption, most of her people need mental enlightenment.
How on earth will anyone say Lagos is fast becoming miami?
It's either you are a complete villager or you are just a complete illiterate.
Illierate multiply by 10 my broda.
Have you been to Kigali, port Elizabeth, Namibia, Tunis, Casablanca, Cairo...if you haven't visited or at least Google the town planning layout of this cities... Please don't compare lagos Miami o all in the name of few high rise buildings

"Should be" ? Mad people everywhere!! grin grin grin grin
I don't see anything wrong with his "should be"
We should always try to be better than what we currently are.

If Lagos had steady electricity (which should be possible if the national grid was decentralized), well maintained roads, running water and an actual waste management system.
Wouldn't it be at least the best city in Africa?
Re: Is Lagos Becoming Nigeria's Answer To Miami, Florida? by Eriokanmi: 6:04pm On May 21, 2021
While driving on 3rd mainland bridge this morning I saw the picturesque view ahead...it was amazing. If not for bad leadership and godfatherism which the state had witnessed since 1999, Lagos would have witnessed much more development today. Anyone who lived in lagos during Buba Marwa Days, would attest to the fact that, that was the time lagios last witnessed real development without making noise. Tinubu came and introduced massive corruption and thuggery( jeun soke, kotun jeun sapo). In 1999, tinubu had no single jet but today, he has 3 private jets woth amazing assets and some gullible minds are just comfortable with his style of leadership...what a pity.

Most of the high rising building seen in lagos and the perceived developments aren't caused by tinubu or his godsons. People just fell in love with the aquatic nature and beauty of lagos. Every time I see the hyped lagos literail, I do shake my head. What Pa jakande would have completed in less than 8 years the way he started, had buhari not truncated.

J never knew lagos had so much money until when ambode came with his project revolution. Lagos can always get better.

Stop replying to some comments and devote your time to better things.
Lagos is Nigeria's/ Africa's best for now-just that it is grappling with over population because everything is centred in it.
wish we had steady power supply in this country
I reply to myopic liars like you. lagos is a dump and slum glorified village of Africa. Stop celebrating mediocre.
