Was thinking the same thing. Apparently there are forces that don't want him to succeed likewise the new CDS and Service Chiefs. I mentioned here just few weeks ago I hope the dark forces that followed Gen. Attahiru to Maiduguri as Theater Commander didn't follow him to Army HQ As COAS. So much evil in the land, diabolism, injustice. Not ordinary. Nigerians will need to pray. God have mercy.

The alpha jet is the workhorse of the NAF, in the course the 11 years insurgency, they've flown several thousand hours. How long until these few aircrafts reach their service span limit? What if they've actually passed it? Same as the beechcrafts.

Before now, we've had very little crash in the 11 years insurgency. If these series of crashes are due to poor maintenance culture, does that mean the lack of incidents in the last few years have been due to luck?

NAF pilots have one of the longest flight experience and training in Africa. So poor training is out of it. If it were training, we would have lost more than 10 within a year considering how frequently they fly.

I think maintenance should also be ruled out cos this plans are been maintained regularly

The plane didn't land according to a former colleague who witnessed everything as he was taxing said the aircraft went into a spiral dive and crashed.
Kaduna airport has landing lights and ILS systems which are all functional. Wind sheer is the cause, experience or not wind shears are tricky, can’t dodge something you can’t really see with your eyes. Was it reported in METAR or TAF? Is another issue that should be investigated.

Do you know that the IPOB once took the late COAS, General Ibrahim Attahiru, and 15 others to court for various human rights abuses including extrajudicial murder? General Attahiru, as commander of 82 Division Enugu, and overall commander of 302 Artillery Brigade, Onitsha, supervised the killing, torture and dehumanisation of many unarmed Biafran protesters.

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has dragged the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, and 14 other Nigerian officials to a United States of America District Court over alleged complicity in the extra-judicial killings of its members.

IPOB alleged that the extra-judicial killings happened during protests over the arrest and detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Those dragged to the US court, aside Buratai and Idris are: Lawal Musa Daura; Ibrahim Attahiru; M.I. Ibrahim; Kasim Umar Sidi; Issah Maigari Abdullahi; former IGP Solomon Arase; Abia and Anambra state governors, Okezie Ikpeazu and Willie Obiano; Habila Hosea; Peter Nwagbara; James Oshim Nwafor; Hosea Karma; Bassey Abang and Johnson Babatunde Kokumo.

The suit was filed based on two US’ statutes; the Alien Tort Claims Act (ATCA or ATS – the Alien Tort Statute) and the Torture Victims Protection Act (TVPA).

Both laws have extra-territorial reach, meaning they allow US federal courts to assert long-arm jurisdiction which extends beyond the borders of US.

ATCA provides that ‘the district courts shall have original jurisdiction on any civil action by an alien (foreigner) for a civil wrong committed in violation of the law of nations or a treaty of the United States.’

Since 1980, courts have interpreted this statute to allow foreign citizens to seek remedies in US courts, for human rights violations and for conducts committed outside the US.

The TVPA of 1991 is a statute which permits civil suits in the US against foreign individuals who, acting in an official capacity for any foreign nation, committed torture and/or extra-judicial killings.

In the suit, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said the banned group’s lawyers argued that “the case is convincing.

“Beyond the latest processes, and at the ensuing trial, Buratai, Ikpeazu, Obiano and others, will be required to personally appear before the US court to testify under oath and cross-examination that will dwell on the details…

Abia and Anambra, according to IPOB, filed a counter-motion to the suit on February 6.

What if it went of the run way, after landing
It didn't. It crashed land after an attempted landing on the runway. It didn't even touched down. I swear. I would only fly turboprop during basic flight training. Those things are really vulnerable during storms, bird strikes e.t.c. The exposed propellers makes it too vulnerable

Damn. We can't rule out fuel shortage. It was meant to land at NAF base but changed destination to kaduna airport. Seems it was flying around the airport waiting for clearance to land through the storm. It might had run out of fuel or engine failure. There are just too many pieces of this puzzle

Should I be crying about Attahiru or what? Is Attahiru my family member or what? Do you know the number of people that were killed extra judiciary under his watch as the GOC of 82 Division?

Abegi jawe. Thousands of Nigerians don die since this year started. IPOB members have been shot dead for doing nothing, except protesting, how many time you don come here to mourn for them?
Protesters have been shot dead for protesting in Lagos and Kaduna, their only sin is that they protested. The Nigerian army even deny his men where in lekki on that night at first.

All this shitty talk of someone taking out Attahiru because of some nonexistent things he is doing is just nothing but a dumb and fool!sh talk.

IGP don talk say make police start to dey kill IPOB members anywhere they are found, is Attahiru life more important than those life's?

That man was killed extra judicial in Owerri few days ago by a police man. The IGP don tell policemen to kill people anyhow in the east, nothing will happen to them even if the case is bought to him.

Only a foo.l would pick up arms against the state especially when he knows there's no chance of success. So belligerents would shoot and kill in most cases unarmed servicemen, attack police stations which is a symbol of state authority and those responsible are expected to be given a pat on the back. You get what you asked for. Only a foo.l would listen to another foo.l who won't offer himself for combat rather hiding in Europe and asking others to go die for something that he is not will to die himself. You attack the state you die simple.

DLD is evidently high on something always when he is posting thrash. This DLD of all people I can boldly tell you would not try this nonsense he's advocating wherever he thinks he somebody abroad. Those people would place him where he belongs and remind him he is not one of them if he so much as try this sort of nonsense. Nnamdi Kanu would not so much as try this rubbish he's advocating in Nigeria in the UK. Let me tell Nigerians the truth if they try it their Passports can be confiscated and they would be told to find their way because they swore to those laws.

It's only in Nigeria you see brigandage and expect to be fetted. No I'll not stand for nonsense. Two wrongs don't make a right. That Buhari most of us don't like is there because he played good politics so much that many of us today got him there but regretting it.

The igbos played bad politics and elections have consequences. They should never have supported Jonathan because even if he won it would take many more years for power to come to the South but rather what they would eat was more important to them than power itself, well see it now. There would be no IPOB if an Igbo man was in power. Its just nonsense.

IPOB have been protesting peacefully all this while, the Nigerian military and police will harras, arrest, torture and kill their members for no reason. Where in the world can such a thing be accepted?

Hundreds of IPOB members have been killed extra judiciary before the creation of ESN.

Imagine if Spanish government do unleash soldiers and policemen on cataluyans. Or make a Spanish police chief talk the kin talk wey the daft IGP talk.

The English have more right to hold on to the Scottish people, but they made them have a referendum. They didn't send soldiers and policemen to kill Scottish protesting peacefully.

But for Nigeria, Police and soldiers go unleash hell on peaceful IPOB protesters for no sensible reason. We saw videos and pictures of what happened in Oyigbo.

Kanu don talk say dem go kill his men, his men will also kill security personnel... So make we see who go get the upper hand at the end cool

Igbo socio-political group, Ohanaeze, and the Indigenous People of Biafra have kicked against the resumption of airstrikes in Imo State by security operatives.

There was panic in Imo state on Friday as security operatives resumed airstrikes in the state.

The military bombardment was reported to have been initiated against those terrorising the state.

The airstrikes, which took place in Amuzi and Odenkwume communities in the Ihitte/Uboma Local Government Area and some neighbouring communities in the Ihitte/Uboma LGA of the state caused the natives to flee their homes.

An indigene of the area said, “There is an ongoing military airstrike in Odenkwume and Amuzi communities in Obowo and their neighbouring communities in Ihitte/Uboma LGA.

“They have continued to attack the communities in search of gunmen suspected to be ESN (Eastern Security Network) members, thereby putting the people of the area in fear.

“Just a few minutes ago, I got a call from my brother and other family members to inform me of what is going on in my community. There is a heavy downpour now that a temporarily suspended airstrike continued in Odenkwume Odenkwume.”When contacted, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Abutu Yaro, told Saturday PUNCH that he knew nothing about military activities.

The CP said, “I don’t know anything about military activities in the state. I only know that of the police.”

Efforts to get the comments of the spokesperson for the 34 Artillery Brigade Command, Obinze, Owerri, Babatunde Zubairu, proved abortive. Though he promised to get back to our correspondent, he had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.

But the spokesperson for Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Alex Ogbenna, told our correspondent that it was against the ongoing military operations in the South-East, saying there was no peculiar reason for a concentrated military operation in the zone.According to Ogbenna, the insecurity in the South-East and the South-South zones is not different from what is happening in the North-East and other parts of the country.

He said, “There is nothing special happening in the South-East and the South-South zones that is peculiar, compared to what is happening in other parts of the country.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo has already issued a press statement on this that we are against the arrest of our youths without any justifiable reason by the military.”Also, the Indigenous People of Biafra kicked against the military airstrikes, saying the Federal Government has declared war on Biafra by resuming its military operations in the South-East.

The proscribed group stated this in a statement by its Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, which was made available to Saturday PUNCH on Friday.

The statement read in part, “Just two days ago, the Inspector General of Police, while launching a special police operation for the South-East called Operation Restore Peace, in Enugu, confirmed the people’s fears when he asked police personnel not to wait for any other special order before they start killing protesters and anyone confronting them in the zone.He specifically directed them to ensure they eliminate anybody suspected to be a Biafran agitator or IPOB member, and not to bother bringing them to police stations anymore.

“There are so many security challenges in the North where the rampaging Boko Haram terrorists and bandits have seized the control of many communities and the local government areas, yet there is no shoot-on-sight order declared by the double-faced Buhari-led Federal Government. South-East and South-South are not at war with anybody but Fulani terrorists supported by the Nigerian government brought war into our land, killing innocent people while pointing accusing fingers at IPOB members and ESN operatives.”
