Hopefully, because alot of peeps in this category has been Dq since 2019 so if they go by the queue he should be in...

Everything is so confusing now. Before once it got to your PD and you have had DQ status, it would have been six weeks to your interview date.

But I don't still get even with the snail pace of one week before now, nobody has been interviewed? Really? Now, we don't know the number of DQed folks ahead of him...so much uncertainty.

Let's be conservative, and take August to be a probable interview period and wait for that notice letter in a month's time. crazy!

A brother in-law(F4) whose PD is Nov 28,2006 received this:

Dear Sir/Madam,

This notice is to inform you that your case for an immigrant visa is documentarily complete at the National Visa Center (NVC) and has been for at least 60 days. NVC has received all of the fees, forms and documents required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview. Your petition is awaiting an interview appointment. At this time, no further action is required. We appreciate your patience.

Your case will remain at NVC until an appointment is scheduled, at which time we will send it to the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate General. We will notify the applicant, petitioner, and attorney (if applicable) when an appointment is scheduled.

The U.S. Embassy or Consulate tells NVC which dates they are holding interviews. NVC fills these appointments on a first-in, first-out basis and is unable to predict when an interview will be scheduled.

Visa interviews at many U.S. Embassies and Consulates have been delayed as a result of the global COVID-19 outbreak. For the most up-to-date information about the U.S. Embassy or Consulate's operating status, please visit their website at https://www.usembassy.gov.

The next communication you receive from NVC will be either a notice that your appointment is scheduled, or if an appointment is not scheduled within the next 120 days, we will send a notice confirming that your case is still in line for an interview.

Important: The applicant should not make any permanent financial commitments until they have received their immigrant visa. This includes activities such as:
- Selling a house, car or property,
- Resigning from a job, or;
- Making other travel arrangements.

Thank you for your continued patience.

I guess so. I told my person July - September. Then two months to the interview day. Conservatively, you gonna leave Naija this year end, if you like. Case close! Continue living your lives!

You current now? Since Dec, wow..you probably gonna be sent the interview notice July-Aug if you are current.

Folks rerouting to other lighter embassies like Great Britain will benefit shorter wait time.

Please can someone help me outline the process of the F1 category.
After the petition was approved, received email with a letter from NVC asking to wait until the priority date becomes active. The priority date is now active (June Bulletin) but I am yet to receive an update from NVC.

Someone asked me to complete a Form I-485 (Application for Permanent Residence or Adjust Status). Please give me an idea of the order of events I should be expecting, and if possibly an estimate of the time I should expect each event.

Thank you.

If you are not in the US, you are consular processing. Wait for NVC and embassy Lagos to decide when to get you the interview details. The wait time is mad!

Thanks, @nowhere. I am actually trying to find out this information for a family member who is in Nigeria (I am neither the petitioner nor the applicant).

Please, what other events are to be expected before the interview. I have heard of 'Welcome Letter', 'Case Complete', and a few other terms, but I am trying to understand the order of events because the process and process of getting information seem convoluted. For example, the letter received from NVC a few years ago includes a case number but not an invoice number, and the information on the CEAC website requires the invoice ID to access one's application. If you have gone through the process of having your petition (on your behalf) approved, kindly outline what things to expect/ or to be completed, following the approval, and before the interview stage. The applicant has filled out an inquiry on CEAC but the response is still being expected.

Thank you, and pardon me. I am just trying to get as much information as possible.

Nothing..take the 'you' to mean the person. Again, wait for NVC and US embassy Lagos to schedule an interview and get you the interview details that will include how to do the medicals, what to come to the embassy with and when.

A friend of mine in F2A category is contemplating using NVC delay in approving his documents as a reason to expedite.

He submitted all required documents in January and 5 months after, no approval yet. And to think that F2A has always been current.

Do you guys think Lagos embassy will honour his expedite request ?
Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by Nobody: 3:35pm On Jun 03, 2021
If the file is still warehoused in NVC, embassy doesn't have it. Expedited requests aren't honored thesedays though.

'I' just received the email from NVC with the instructions for the CEAC website. I was able to figure out some of the steps/events I was asking about earlier- they are; Payment of AOS and IV fees, uploading requested documents (nothing yet), AOS and Financial Evidence application, IV application. I think that all these have to be completed before the interview process, but I think you may have misunderstood my question earlier - I was asking what one had to do after their petition has been approved and their priority date became active. I appreciate your earlier reply, and I am sure that I would have more questions as the process goes forward.

I was able to get mine done through the force headquarters of my state of residence. The guys at the CID took my fingerprints with a copy of my passport bio-data page and helped courier the thing to Lagos. When it was ready, they called me to come and pick it up. Whole thing cost 20k back in 2016.
In my state, the state CID and state headquarters are different, where should I go for the police clearance certificate

The Embassy might start sending fresh interview notices for those that have been current since last year.......
I pray insecurity will not suspend thier operations.
Let us continue to pray for peace. Especially in Lagos.

Please house I'm currently uploading my documents. I just want to know if my sponsor's drivers license or tax papers can be uploaded as proof of domicile.

If not I'd like for you guys to suggest which other documents can used .

Secondly, can I upload pictures of me and my sponsor together or should I just wait to present it at the interview.

Lastly, in the picture below, is it passport photograph I'm to upload or normal picture

Driver license are okay, but not the best proof....utility bills with dates within the last months are better. In many cases, your driver license is valid for many years and sometimes when you move within states or even across states despite local law stating you update them, many people don’t it until the next renewal date.

So if they have sewer bill, water bill, gas bill, electric I’ll, phone bill, etc those are better.

Secondly, upload pictures with you and the sponsor, upload as many as you can....Remember that, in about 90% of cases, the interviewer have already made a decision about you case before you arrive and the only thing they will have will be what you have uploaded, so put your best foot forward now and give them everything that will make that decision on their part more easier, during your interview, they may not even ask you for anything.

You don’t upload passport pictures to USCIS, you take them with you to the medicals and to the interview; so they are asking for regular pictures that shows a tie or relationship with the sponsor. The older the pictures, the better.

I thought it's passport photograph. Na wa. Thank God for consulting you people.

I'm in a really hot soup as I only have 2 pictures of me and my mum together.. The rest are destroyed beyond recognizable state.

May God help me..

What if I upload a recent picture of me alone
If so can just use a picture taken by my phone
