Ok thanks..

Are you saying the tax papers would be ready by May 15, if so would you rather I just wait for my petitioner to get it since we are already in May.

Secondly, will I get DQ/CC without submitting all documents while I have the unsubmitted documents available for the interview.. I'm just being desperate because it's taking my petitioner and joint sponsor so much time to get these documents ready.

Thanks again for your responses so far

May 15, 2021 is the deadline to file 2020 taxes, their 2020 Tax transcripts wouldn’t be ready by May 15, it may take more months, since IRS is the one who prepares the tax transcripts based on their submitted 2020 taxes and send it to them upon request or they can print it from IRS website.

However, they should have their filed tax 1040 forms & schedules by May 15, ask them to send those to you along with the W2s.

You are good, you did not need the 2020 tax documents to get DQ, because those taxes were not due when you submitted your documents to NVC.

However, just like you will need to get a new police report for your interview if the one you submitted to NVC have expired (more than one year), it will also advisable to also get updated tax documents for your interview, including the ones submitted to NVC.

I would say wait until interview details come in or something to know what you need to do in addition to medicals. This is uncertain time and some things may be waived.

I will agree that, a wait is needed until the interview date is known, this way one will know what documents to bring.

But, I doubt if they will waive anything and you wouldn’t get much of a detail beyond what is obtainable on their website to bring photographs, do medical, bring originals or certified copies of “all supporting documents” submitted to CEAC.

Now, if you don’t go with any document they want or expired documents, you wouldn’t be denied, it will just delay your visa as you will have to make another interview date.

Use the Chart B, ‘ Dates for filing family sponsored Visa Application.

All F4 categories for Nigerians filed on or before Oct 1st, 2007 are now current...anyone whose PD is in this date range and have not received notifications from NVC to start sending in their documents, should call, email NVC or send a message to them from their website.

Chart A is final action dates.

You need to be current in chart A before you can get an interview date.. chart B is just to send document & complete all filings.

With the way things are going ( which is one week movement a month) it will take at least 24 months for October 2007 to become current

They have started filing tax since February 12th and 2020 tax seasons ends on May 15th.

I know they have started but my mum said that IRS tax transcript is not yet available..

That's why I'm asking if can upload the w-2 used for filing 2020 tax.. the adjusted gross income that would be on the IRS transcript is on the w-2 also.

Yes upload W-2 for 2020 but it's always advisable to backup the W-2 with like 3 or 4 months paystub....

NVC has no issues with W-2 but note that embassy won't accept W-2.

Ok thanks again. I just called my joint sponsor he said form 1040 for 2020 is still not available that I should submit W-2 first.

He advised I would take it to the interview with me if available by then.

Yes I will take the tax papers with me to the embassy. I believe it will be available by then.

Moreover W2 and IRS transcripts are easy to understand. Even NVS advised that that's preferable to for 1040.

I can't even locate the adjusted gross income on the form 1040.

Most of time, they ask you to drop the requested stuff off at their collection center.

I wonder what's going on. Anyways the attorney told me that it could take about 1-3 months to get an appointment, COVID has also made it unpredictable this days to get an appointment but I know its only a matter of time.It will happen.

Nigeria has a peculiar case, firstly we were banned for 13 months and then covid 19 .... That is why we can't go by the bulletin because the bulletin is a global schedule. There are loads of backlogs and those on Administrative Processing .....
I would strongly recommend we concentrate on getting all that is necessary for interview set. And then keep praying Nigerian insecurity shouldn't not get worse.

It is as simple as ABC what your petitioner need to do is to upload the federal tax returns papers what I mean is that after the tax man has finished preparing the tax their are paper he prints that shows how much the federal and state will refund her. She should ask the taxman which is the federal then she can upload that . The IRS is very busy with stimulus check disbursements .

House please I need your assistance once again on another troubling issue.

My brother's passport has Owerri as place of birth but his birth certificate has Mbaise.

We are wondering which one of the information to use in filing the Visa form.

Also I'm having trouble as to what to fill in places where they ask about my work and education

It seems you tried to contact me on Nairaland message section but I couldn’t get in touch.

Regarding your questions;

1. First, who’s filing for who; Is it that your brother is filing for you or you are filing for your brother or someone is filing for you and your brother?
• if the petitioner is the one that has different place of birth, then you the beneficiary should have no issue with that. Just follow the one on his/her passport.
• But if it’s the beneficiary, he should stick with the one on international passport. It’s more difficult to change details on government issued documents these days.

2. Your second question is simple, if you’ve worked just fill the organization/company you’ve worked with. And state your educational level; like the name of your primary school, secondary school and tertiary institutions if any.

If you didn’t have the privilege to go to school just state it. Be truthful in all your fillings, don’t complicate things for yourself.

1. My mum petitioned for me and my brother

It's the beneficiary (my brother) that has the issue

2. I would have been truthful if I we weren't filed for under different names than the ones on our educational certificates.

I'm a WAEC and B.sc holder for instance, but the name on my certificates is different from the one my mum used to file for us.

Let's say in the form I fill that I have a degree or have worked under my field of study (computer science) before, won't I complicate things for my self should they ever ask to see my certificate or my place of work? And if they do, what would be my fate if they discover my certificates carry different names..

Thanks as I await you brilliant response

Hello Chloraseptic,

Initially you said you’re having issue with irregularities on your brother place of birth, now you are saying your mom file with different names? Which is different from the one on your waec, I don’t get! Or you are just making an example of what you are trying to communicate? Get back to me on that.

Anyways, regarding your initial question, I make some google search and it appear mbaise and owerri are in IMO state. if your brother passport states mbaise instead of owerri then he should stick with the mbaise. Let your mother use the details on the passport to file for your brother if she has not filed yet.

Btw, what birth certificate does your brother have, is it the one from NPC or normal local govt birth certificate? If it’s local government, then he should get the npc with the right place of birth on the passport. If not it shouldn’t be a yardstick since mbaise and owerri are both in IMO state.

My mum petitioned for me and my brother and we are already at the NVC stage. We have paid all the necessary fees and we are filing our Visa forms and about to start uploading documents.

The place of birth on my brother's NPC birth certificate carries Owerri while the one on his passport carries Mbaise. We are confused as to whether to use the information on the passport or birth certificate to fill the form.

He would have requested for another birth certificate that would tally with the information on the passport but he already submitted this current birthday certificate to USCIS. And knowing that USCIS transferred the case to NVC, NVC might have this current birthday certificate already.

Won't we complicate issues if they discover that we uploaded a different certificate

No or yes, it doesn’t really matter, I’ve seen people answer yes but later get the vaccinations done during medical while some answer No, with an explanation of “I will get it before interview”

Which ever answer you tick, you are still going to get vaccinated before interview. Though I answered No during my time.

The real question is, where was your brother born, Mbaise or Owerri?

I understand that you have been previously advised to go with mbaise. But you have to stick to a straight storyline.

If you guys are sticking with mbaise, I will advise that you use mbaise to complete all your forms, but go ahead and do an affidavit stating that your NPC birth certificate have the wrong place of birth and go ahead to obtain a corrected BC that will have mbaise on it.

You should not submit this new birth certificate, but have it with you along with the affidavit when going forward the interview, incase the question comes, you cab easily tell the interviewer that, there was a mistake on the previously submitted BC....here is the affidavit and corrected BC.

It is important that the info on your BC are accurate and tallies with your other documents, because in the US, you will depend these documents from time to time, so use this opportunity to straighten them up.
