Why did Pres. Buhari not attend the funeral of his late best friend and Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari who was buried in Abuja too?

Why was Pres. Buhari not at the burial of Isa Funtua?

Should the Vice President attend if he was not delegated by the President? Mind you, presidency is a single body led by the President himself.

It is simple, these men were buried immediately according to Islamic tradition and for the President of Nigeria to be at any ceremony, there must have been at least 48hrs security report/update or he sends delegate, which Mr. President did by sending his Minister for defence.

May soul of our gallant men rest in peace. If you cannot atleast respect their memory, don't be unfortunate to play politics with their burial.

Just to be clear. Jonathan was absent at Yar'adua's burial. General Abdulsalam was absent at Abacha's burial. All these burials all have one thing in common, they happened in less than 24 hours. Too short a time for the DSS to plan their itinerary. Being a President is not child's play. Buhari has been a target for assassination even as far back as 2014 in Kaduna when his convoy was attacked. The risk is higher now than then.

The respect of anyone who could clear and forward a whole chief of army staff is the beginning of wisdom. Until the whole and real truth is known it is never safe for the presidency to move around. Kill them before they kill you they will not hear. Be ready to die with your enemies else they wount take you serious them go dey run. Na so e dey end last last. Even the best 400 soldiers that ever lived died but not after wrecking a respect commanding havoc in the very core of their enemies formation. Nothing goes for nothing.

Jonathan was already acting President before Yar'adua died. Why was Buhari absent at his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari's burial? Why was he absent at his bosom friend, Isa Funtua's burial?

Hint: It wasn't because of Covid 19. Show me an islamic burial happening in less than 24 hours where Buhari has attended. Buhari attended Yar'adua's burial by the way. The difference is that he wasn't President as at then. You can pontificate all you want, but we all saw what happened to Idris Deby in Chad. Buhari's itinerary does not lie in his hands. It is protocol.

Well, it was because of covid-19. Garba Shehu that attended had to isolate for two weeks before he could be admitted back into the villa.
Jonathan attending or not Yaradua's burial which took place in Katsina and not Abuja by the way is not an excuse for Buhari not to honour his chief army officer with an appearance.

If you don't know, know it now.

For a President to be at any funeral or event outside the presidential villa, it must have at least 48 hours for intelligence operatives to do surveillance and clearance before the President can go based on the Security report.

In a case where the COAS and his team died yesterday and had to be hurriedly buried today, you don't expect the President to go there where there is no security clearance.

The minimum time of 48 hours wasn't met. In insecurity parlance, funeral ceremonies are where politically exposed persons faces more risks.

GEJ could attend Azazi’s burial because it wasn't done within 24 hours.

Security issues and securing the president are not done by emotions or sentiments. There’re laid down procedures that must be followed.

We're in troubling times, everyone must be careful even as we mourn.

Do you know why he's been nicknamed Chief Mourner?
It's because he goes on to mourn where his government ought to have prevented a massacre or invincible attack on innocent citizens! He makes it a 'duty' to pretend to empathize with the mourning loved ones of the departed because he knows he and his boss failed them!

In this case, I can understand his indifference. Osinbajo be like, "at least, this time no be government fault..."
