Good morning guys. I am thinking of picking up a 2008 nissan Altima. Its has gear issues according to the seller and it is coming at a good deal. My question is, can the gears be repaired? If not, what bis the cost of a new engine and gearbox. Or s new gearbox. Is this model of nissan reliable?

It's an updated engine from VQ35, all the gremlins of VQ35 were solved in the G37.
Tho, the new engine is mated to a 7sp auto. The watch word here is, should it break, would you easily find replacement part?

I have a nissan xtrail 2003 T30.
She came with a Yd22ddti (diesel)

Am considering converting it to a petrol as diesel prices killing and she is a manual drive, driving in lagos traffic is making it a pain .


Wats are the likely things I may do ,

Haven't owned one but I learned at mention of infiniti parts, wallets go lean. Fuel consumption too? One zoom, one litre
As regards engine and transmission, reviews have shown they are quite foolproof.

My first car is an Almera Tino (Manual) 2001, 86000 mileage. I must say it is a strong car with a fantastic fuel economy. The only issue I have with it is that it smokes and I solved this problem by removing the pcv tube connector. Also, the radio keeps displaying 'secure' when I put it on. I dont know how to resolve this though
