Okay thanks for sharing your experience. I assumed the poster's NIN already bears the new name.

Tipzey:
From my experience of name change at the NIS Abuja:
I got to the immigration office with the NIN slip that bears my old name. Though I had already changed my name and done the newspaper publication before going to the NIS office. But when I got there I was told I had to redo the NIN registration cos they could only accept the NIN slip that bears my new name. Thank God I was helped, I had to immediately redo the NIN registration at the immigration office and was immediately given a new NIN slip that bears my new name. I was also asked to provide an affidavit of name change which I did at another office in NIS. It was quite easy for me because I had someone that helped me who only referred me to the appropriate places .
I hope this helps.

Yes. They already given Sponsorship letter and gift deed. And it was all notorized. But didn't include that board resolution, so thinking of adding it now. Hope it not to be NOTORIZED

No need to NOTORIZE board resolution.

Hello Opeoyek,

It is only advised if you and/or your spouse (accompanying) have the financial capacity, reliable source of funds, and good socioeconomic (home) ties.

Other than this, not advised.

Best of Luck

Thank you sir

My own concern is somewhat related and preferably want a practical example

What if the main applicant is fully funded
(35k+)and got NSE request. How will I demonstrate financial strenght on the my bank statement or the upload section that I can cover for both of us in the first year.

In addition to this @childgodly, kindly make two colored copy of the Data Page of your International Passport.
klintino:

You need to go with the following:
1. Biometric Instruction Letter
2. International Passport
3. Photocopy of the Data Page of your International Passport
4. Biometric Appointment Letter

Hello Jojo257,

It is not always asked and if does, it is triggered by the discretion of the CBSA officer and this may not be the case for others.

If asked and you haven't, but have the deposit payment receipt, boldly enlighten the officer of the DLI's tuition payment instruction and present the available evidence.

If there is none (a receipt of payment or otherwise), simply state that you were instructed to make payment upon class resumption or your sponsor will make the payment from your home country before class resumption.

n.b. the questions or things being asked at the POE do not follow a generic transcript and could take between 1min – 3mins, more or less) followed with warm, charming, calm, and friendly smiles.

Best of Luck

Thank you

Hello everyone,

I am putting together my Canadian study permit application and I would like to know

I actually don't have any volunteer experience during my study gap

What advice would you give for someone like me who didn't do much during their study gap?

Thank You

Hello KejiA,

The remaining 11 days of quarantine can be done in a shared apartment (with available spaces) and with no presence of vulnerable persons like children or elderlies.

Even if there are children or elderly, you should not share a room, toilet, and even utensils; and if you must walk around, you must have a facemask on.

Best of Luck
Okay, thank you so much.

So I did my upfront medicals on the 19th that's last week Wednesday, on Friday 21st IOM called that the results will be uploaded that day. I have been busy and not able to upload the e-medical form. I tried uploading this night only to see update of medical passed without uploading the form IOM gave me.

I have medicals appointment with IOM on 3rd June at 8am. I've been monitoring the vfs booking platform for biometrics to get appointment for same 3rd June or a day before or after. Getting an excuse to leave work to travel as far as Lagos has been a tricky one.

Do you think I can still achieve doing biometrics same day with medicals?

Hello EPICUnleashed,

Note that this advice is not limited to the following documents. However, it boils down to the nature of the organization and how well organized it is. You can show:

• Membership certificate/card

• ID card

• Photos when on mission outreach

• Awards

• Training/Volunteering certificate(s)

• Welcoming or acceptance email correspondence received upon becoming a member or as the case may be (preferably non-commercial email)

• Newspaper or publications on articles of your active participation/services in the name of the organizational outreaches or missions

• Organization web page where you are recognized as a bona fide member, etc

• Printed program copy, brochure, pamphlet, flyer, etc having you as host or participating host/member or being recognized

• A screenshot of the organizational social media page(s) recognizing you either by image upload or by appreciating your contributions by your full name acknowledgment

• ...etc. Please, kindly Follow GCMSWriters on Instagram/Twitter for rich Canada immigration updates and others.

Best of Luck

Thank you for your response and I have also followed GCMSWriters on Twitter as well.

Yes you can achieve both same day. Biometrics normally doesn’t take much time. Mine was concluded in less than an hour and I went straight for medicals same day.

Guys, please my eligibility review started 2 weeks after I submitted my application in February ( I used NSE).
My biometrics and medicals have not been updated on my profile as “complete” and “passed” respectively, even after raising webforms.
Please note that I have a PR application so I did my biometrics and medicals last year already with no issues.
Should I be worried or is this normal? Also I was getting a lot of ghost updates for a while, but now, nothing. Any views?

I don't know about Lagos cos I did both biometric and medicals in Abuja.
For biometric, you should be done in an hour but for medicals I got there around 8:20 am for 8 o'clock appointment and finished around 2:30pm.

My application is more than 2 months now. Eligibility hasn't started.

Maybe I should just double my own worries , if being worried can get it fixed cheesy
