Is this a joke
it's a sarcasm meant to show you how foolish and dumb Nigerians are once they hear the phrase "man of God"

But your inability to grasp it calls your intelligence into question

Your friend is working for the Lord

He is sowing seed into God`s kingdom, and will reap later.

Like you said, the pastor is investing in the church, which is God`s house.

He will reap the gains one day.

This must be sarcasm but poorly written

I got closer to God. The pastor was the nearest man I have ever seen to God. I left the company for abroad and was wishing I continued.

Men like that are rare nowadays....it's pretty sad

It’s very unfortunate that most Nigerian pastors that has companies are running their companies like gods. 3 out of 5 pastors don’t usually treat their workers well.

A friend who works in a telecom servicing company owned by a G.O of a church in Lagos has had his life stagnated because the pastor has refused to pay them going to 4months now. The worst part is that he doesn’t deem it fit to explain to them why he can’t pay.
Can you believe that a man with 3 kids would trek kilometers to work and can’t even feed his children while the GM & MD (Both of them are pastors o!) keeps buying expensive cars and building his gigantic church?

He just recently laid the foundation for his school meanwhile he owes his workers salaries going to 4months by the end of may.

So, what’s your experience? Is it good or bad?
expose him on the Internet

They are not rare. It depends on what you are looking for in a church.

There are two angles to this post and I don't understand either.
One is why your friend has not stopped working there. Salary being owed and the person continued staying on the job is because the person hopes or expects a big payday in the future. Your friend's continued slavery is stopping him from getting other opportunities.
2ndly, you and a lot of Nigerians needs to stop seeing thing from a religious lens. The MD owing salary has nothing to do with his pastoring. He is owing because he is an insensitive person, if indeed all the cars and church building angle is true. If he wasn't a pastor, he will still owe. He isn't owing because he's a pastor.

Don't spin the story to win sympathy. What is the company into? Are they making money to cover all expenses? Can't he asks the CEO why they aren't being paid, if the books are in green?

Asking for other peoples experience would not solve your friends troubles, which points to the entire story being HS.

Ask your friend to provide the church name. The name of the company. All these "confidential sources" story are always Ine kind. Let people help ask the CEO online and directly why salary isn't paid for 4 months.

Some of you are really becoming ridiculous. Did it ever occur to you that a thread like this should have been an opportunity to testify of the integrity, honesty, graciousness and kindness of pastors? That you are scared it will be an opportunity to bash pastors is an admittance that modern Nigerian pastors have become a bad testimony to Christianity.

I actually was looking forward to testimony after testimony of how pastors have shown great examples of what it truly means to be a Christian but instead, it is disappointing comments like yours that I see. We need a real revival and repentance in the Nigerian church and may God purge His own

Someone I know did an engineering job for a church, they have refused to pay him, for like more than a month now, the pastors under the G.O is just drinbbeling him with one story or the other, some pastors don't like to pay their workers well and on time, they can be the worse to work with or work for.

Haven't worked for, but I've done business with many pastors. I don't do chitchats or pleasantries. Strictly professional. I call them by their names, not pastor or daddy. Once they get comfortable around you, e don be

I once worked for one back in 2019. Both the woman and the man were pastors. The pay was was very low and sometimes it will be half of your total salary.

One thing I noticed was that whenever they want to introduce a bad policy, they start with biblical verses and then give a flimsy reason for the decision. You cant fight it because what can you do when your coworkers has been brainwashed grin

Well when I look back now I understand why they couldn't pay or slashed salaries. The school was being constructed with different loans. They had to pay back so there is no way they won't cheat the workers if at all they intend to meet up with the loan requirements

The loan they're paying back is no excuse to break God's law about paying your workers their due wages.

Go and check, there's no business plan for that project. You may even discover that there's no professional engaged on that business or project to help them in sorting out the loan repayment strategy and at the same time continue to meet up with the obligation of paying salaries.

May God forgive us of ignorance in the body of Christ!

Not paying salaries regularly

Always have this entitlement of saying thank you sir after being paid salary of January in April
.
Always want a low budget expensis like expecting one to use 3k hotel in places like Benin/warri, instead of flight to Abuja, employee will use bus

All employee should always go by what he said, no objection

He doesn't know how to call to check on staffs even when I had accident that almost claimed my life, he only visited me once cos he need to coalate my report with others, and when one other staff had partial stroke till date he didn't visit him
