Edo State as it is today will not be a country of its own without crisis as some people are projecting. Eshan people don't believe in obaship because the oba is a Yoruba, he's being resented by other tribes in edo and preserved by the Nigeria system.

Nobody lords anything over the Esans, we do not roll like that in Edo. All the groups in Edo state, acknowledge the supremacy of the Oba, we are a very traditional state and don't need outsiders to tell us about our traditions and institutions. There will be no crisis in Edo state as there was none when we were Midwest region and Bendel state. Other regioins should face there issues and leave the Edo's alone.

Niger Delta "Igbo" Cant Give Biafra Direct Sea Access Because Of These Tribes

There is an Igbo obsession with the Atlantic Ocean almost to the point of neuroses. This has led to the forceful conscription of all peoples with moonlight fable links of their Igboid ancestry into Biafra, such as the still puzzled Esan people of Ubiaja in Edo State who suddendly woke up one day to discover they are Igbo.

The problem is even if for agreement sake all these Igbo claimed peoples were to agree (Impossibility) to be Biafra, Biafra still wont be an Atlantic Nation as none of these tribes seat on the Atlantic Ocean.

Take the case of Rivers State. In the unlikely event that the the less than 500,000 Ikweres allow themselves to be dragged into Biafra, the direct sea access will still be blocked by the below tribes that include Ogonis, Ijaws, Kalabaris who are all sitting right on the ocean and will never give up their land.

My advise to those seeking Biafra is to focus on the 5 state of South East to be taking serious.

There will be a Yoruba Nation.
Their will be 1 or 2 Niger Delta Nations.
There will be an Igbo Nation, it just wont be this Biafran hallucinations.

I did not even insinuate Edo is an entity of Igbo. However Igbo land extends into Edo State. The land of Igboakiri people (Igbanke) is Igbo land though found in Edo State.

Even the day amalgamation was signed in 1914, No single IGBO or eastern leader was present, we never ever wanted to be a part of it.

Actually, I expect Ibibios to be able to form a great nation. They have the right temperament for that. They gave Biafra some badass administrators like NU Akpan and of course Obong Efiong.
If Ibibios further join up with Efiks, Annangs and othe Akwa-Cross ethnic nationalities with whom they share certain similarities, the nation will be very attractive.
The only downside will be that Bakassi will be lost for good, as it will be easier to get with 10s of millions of Biafrans than just a few million Akwa-Cross people, but Bakassi is a small price to pay for ones self-determination.

No doubt Ibibios have more in common with Igbos than they do with Edo people, and even Ijoid people with whom they have common land borders, but still I don't see any obstacle if Akwa-cross people wish to join up with the Midwest to form a nation.
