First, I made normal white pap at home.
For the colour, I have this zobo infusion I made for a long time seating in my refrigerator.
To make the zobo infusion, get zobo leaves, lightly rinse in running water to remove any debris/dust. Put in a container, add water and allow it sit for hours or days. Use this water as to mix the pap. You can store the remaining infusion in the fridge.

It's not bitter but kind of tart. However, it had the aroma abi na scent of Ribenna.
Wow! How nutritiously and colourfully creative!
Me likeyyy!
You came up with it?

Imagine so many herbs and flavours left unexplored....

Has anyone here eaten ofada rice before ?

I'm trying to buy some but they come in original and odor ofada. What does it means?

Bad odor or odor as in Jasmine rice ?

Akposy, cococandy, Mariangeles and all - please come help me understand.
Ofada rice makes sense; it's a specie of local rice just like Abakaliki rice, etc. The ones I do cook I buy them in the mall and they do come out well when cooked.

I don't seem to understand the part where u talked about it coming in "original and odor ofada", but ofada rice has a peculiar odor that is neither offensive nor bad. In fact the odor is one of the enticing features of the rice. The rice usually announces its presence anywhere tru it's peculiar scent.( I don't even know if referring to the aroma as odor, scent or smell is the right word to use sef)

See below picture of the one I cooked and posted here last time

They're not the same.
I don't know the English name for curry leave, but it belongs to the Basil and Scent leaf family.

Parsley on the other hand is an exotic herb. It looks morphologically similar to celery and cilantro.

I will take pics of the Celery and Parsley in my box garden and send later today

Yummy!
Cooking stew with Extra virgin olive oil is not an option for most of us in Nigeria. It's damn expensive. I bought a 100ml bottle for 800 naira. This same amount will get me 750ml of Golden Penny soy or groundnut oil. Anyway I bought the olive oil for making my cream and not for cooking

How do you use sugar to cook stew? How did the stew taste? I may try this

Thanks Boss I understand, though I don't add much when making stew.

Sugar helps to reduce acidic tastes, especially some tomato sauce..

Some of our women do say sometimes "The stew or Tomato sauce dey slap for mouth" cheesy pinch of sugar helps balance the equation.

Thank you so much BlueRay - it was advertised as - No odor 2lb 9.95 and Regular 2lb 15.95.
I will buy both as a trial. I'm always curious about different rice.

Your explanations helped because I'm so tired of brown and wild rice.

The original Ofada is very dark and has strong odour fa. When cooking one would feel nauseous. It is highly nutritious and Delish.

The one that has no strong odor is agric.it is kind of light.

In abeokuta here you will see different variants
