Your parents are wealthy. Every body's parents are not wealthy, some parents cannot even feed their own children, some children never see their father for weeks. Some children go hungry for days. It wasn't because your parents were wealthy. You just weren't enticed like you said. There are so many wealthy kids in cults or gangs.

You don't know my parents. They are the best parents. I made the choice of becoming a gang member there was nothing my parents could have done to stop me.

Oga, there is no law in the country that says parents Should be punished for the offences committed by their children. The Bible expressedly abolished punishing parents for what their children do.

I disagree. Cultism is more of a parental and societal failure than a governmental failure. In my days cultism was restricted to higher institutions. It was an offshoot of fraternity. Now cultism has seeped into the secondary schools and the streets. In ikorodu here almost every youth whether in school or not is a member of one cult group or the other. And what's the aims and objectives of these cult gangs?

Very primitive and highly draconian laws we see in Lagos State these days under this "Pontius Governor". Cultism in Lagos is now the new pandemic but how is this line of thinking even remotely practicable?? How do you purnish the parents of an adult child who for whatsoever reasons decided to be a cultist? Are the parents thee ones who initiated the child into cultism? Are the parents the opolo eyed politician who recruits them every elections circle for rigging, intimidation and violence? The other time his government was selling off people's cars for traffic violations, when he could easily have the offenders fines heavily to get money for the government while purnishing the offenders at the same time without using executive cover to steal their property.


I guess if it's acceptable for parents of cultists to be jailed for their wards activities, godfathers of corruption politicians can as well be jailed together with their proteges, since the dins of the "sons" can now easily be transferred to the "father's"...?

You tried making a good point. But before a child turns a nuisance/terrorist to the society the father or mother should first hand him over to the police before they get them implicated.
I had someone who duped me of 150,000 naira. When I found out and threatened him of going to his village to arrest and destroy his widowed mother's little shop, he immediately transferred my money back to me.

Yea, you might think so.. If my father handed me to the police the first time, if gain freedom do you think i would be around my father after that? Do you know how many times i was handed to the police? How many times i was jailed? Do you know if my father even knew were i was? When you are in a gang you don't want your families to be associated with it.
