The IELTS test costs approximately ₦75.000 in Nigeria. The price is consistent across British Council test centers for the IELTS Academic and General Training exams.

Have you registered for IELTS or you're planning to do so?

Are you having issues with preparation?

Do you desire to have a very high score in your first attempt?

If yes, I've got a solution you'll love.

And I'm willing to share it with you if you

Thanks to everyone for the congratulatory messages, I truly appreciate y’all!! The wait wasn’t easy but we thank God for his faithfulness! I got the two emails during prayers this morning! Please never doubt God cause at some point, I began to have some doubts. Only this morning when I woke up did I regain some faith again, just before I got my PPR.
This is such a wonderful birthday gift as my birthday is later this month and God just perfected everything!

LONG POST ALERT!!
My journey (Omo my talk fit plenty small)
I started this journey around May 2020. I wanted to go for a Masters in Accounting and finance at the University of Toronto which was what delayed me till this point. They needed a special CPA assessment for international students which included a WES ICAP evaluation. I paid for all and I carried out the assessment. The assessment was to only to know whether you are qualified to apply based on your degree/transcript. Due to our failed educational system in Nigeria, I couldn’t get course outlines for each course I did from 100L to 400L from my school which the U of T required for the assessment thereby making me unable to apply. This whole period took about 3/4 months before I knew I couldn’t even apply to start with. I went on to apply to Simon Fraser and University of Windsor. Simon Fraser answered me fast but their fees are over $50k plus they needed GMAT for me to gain admission. They sent mails every month for a while asking for my GMAT score in other to gain admission. I didn’t have the time to take GMAT because I was preparing for my ACCA exams and besides, the fees were outrageous so I just ignored Simon Fraser as well. Windsor was my bus stop. I applied and it took about 3 months before they gave me my admission for Winter 2021. I had to defer till summer/spring due to the unavailability of time to prepare documents for study permit.
As at December 2020, all my documents were ready except medicals and IELTS. I booked dates for medicals and IELTS for January 2021. I did both of them and got results sharply. Due to some issues, I had to wait until February before I submitted my full application with my NSE documents. I got an application confirmation on that day and another update a day after. I didn’t do biometrics because I had applied for a visiting visa in the past so IRCC applied the same biometrics to my application.
Omo the wait was long! I got a fantastic job offer during this period o and the confusion began; whether or not to forget everything about traveling and commit to working at a top investment bank for two years. I said in my mind my God doesn’t do unfinished business. I even had to start my first semester here from Nigeria and it was a bit tough but God did it. God doesn’t do half work. I kept on refreshing my mail for dayssssssss without updates. Finally, June 2, 2021 during NLP prayers, I got two updates successively. Mind you, powerful fasting and prayers had been going on personally during this period o. I am even currently fasting! Finally oooo my people, I got PPR. My application wasn’t perfect as there were lump sums left unexplained in my sponsor’s statements but God was faithful! To show you how God works and to give hope to some people, we transferred some funds to my Dad’s statements just a day or two before we did the mbs for the two accounts, although the account have solid history and they are quite buoyant.

Before I forget, about a month or two ago, I contacted the parliament members in Windsor and they really helped as they contacted ircc on my behalf and also sent their correspondence to me. That was how I knew my application was being handled in Nairobi. For about 10 days now, I had sent emails and webforms to Nairobi informing them that I already commenced classes and I pleaded with them to speed up my application process. I also ordered my GCMS notes on May 17 but I guess I won’t be needing that anymore lol. All in all, I received the favour of God guys.
Thanks to all the gurus in the house for always responding to all our questions and concerns (Justmellow, Frankrobbn, Lekkiboboe) and everybody else, may God continue to uplift you guys.
@Teenie19 and marcelonwa, I dey wait for una PPRs too plus everybody else waiting for PPR, God will favour us all by his Grace.

TIMELINE:
Application submission: February 4, 2021.
Application in process: February 5, 2021.
I don remember when exactly my eligibility review started/when my medicals turned to passed.
Didn’t get NSE request as I submitted all documents upfront.
Contacted Kusmierczyk Irek, a member of parliament on April 13, 2021. Got a reply that same day and was told to fill some forms. They didn’t get back to me until May 4, when they sent the correspondence with the visa office in Nairobi. This reply was quite detailed and different from the usual generic replies we always get.
I started sending emails and webforms to Nairobi from May 17, 2021 (the same day I ordered for my GCMS notes). I got some generic responses about my application being under active review and all of that but I didn’t stop sending webforms.

BVL: June 2, 2021; 7:28am
PPR: June 2, 2021; 7:32am

Goodluck to everyone waiting for PPR once again and to those that were delayed, please do not give up as God will definitely crown your efforts with success.

Cheers.

To get your transcript at hand... Give your school a traveling agent email address that u have assess to or create an email address eg.. Westerntravelsandtore@gmail.com .. ensure u put down the password while creating.

You mean after I gave them the email address. I have to print it out myself?

What if I now gained admission and they want me to send the real copy?

Did you note his key word? He said "struggle to get" not that "they dont get !" .

bollybeejay:

I personally do not go by this subscription, your school doesn't have anything to do with your study permit application as long as the school is a dli approved by IRCC,I have seen many applicants gotten study permit with NBCC, NSCC and the likes, the most important is putting up a very good study permit application.
It will end in praise

Quite ke, its really worrisome. Its so difficult to sleep, I think about it in my dream state sef. Let's be hopeful, they updated on IRCC site that they are concluding applications between 21st and 28th of February. Even though they don't really follow this time table but im certain my phone will beep with good news between this week and next week. No negative feedback is permitted.

Hi Winta. The way I got my own personal copy of my transcript was through my school’s portal (I just downloaded it)
Now, after you’ve been given admission, the international university would required a copy of your transcript to be sent to them directly from your uni. This can be done either through email or courier (by your school) depending on whatever method the international university requires.

When I submitted my application I didn't submit my account statement using mbs, because I didn't know about it,I just make use of the old method ,through bank statement I generated from my online account and reference letter from my bank.my question is this ,can I still resend the account statement using mbs or it doesnt need that again.

You mean when you gained admission or when you are applying? Because when applying you are not sure if the admission will be granted or not. So, I don't know how sending to the school direct will work. When the admission is not yet granted. Because I don't want double payment to collect the transcript. Is only the student copy I need now for application and when I gain an admision. I can now address the transcript direct to the school. Unfortunately, my school don't give students access to student portal.

Hello everyone, please I have some questions I will like answer and clarity to. I will like to send my in-law (wifey younger brother) who is my ward to study in Canada. I want to know if he will be able to file for my family to move to Canada after graduation. I am also looking at sending my younger brother also. But I can only afford to sponsor one person at this time. Between the both of them, who will be able to help us move in future to Canada? Thank you

Hi Everyone,

I have been a silent reader all along and this post is on behalf of my wife.

She applied for Canadian study visa on 18/02/2021 and since then the waiting game started. This morning, she opened her mail and coincidentally, 2 emails dropped from IRCC within the space of about 3 minutes. Could it be the good news we all have been waiting for? The emails stated that there were messages to be checked in the profile.

We summoned the courage to check her profile and lo and behold, it was an approval! Both PPR and BvL came at about the same time. We thank God Almighty for the success.

A lot happened in-between the time of the application and PPR. She had sent several webforms seeking to know status of the application. IRCC always responded with the generic emails, starting with "under active review" and then later to "in process". Yet we kept faith alive. She also had to migrate her international passport into a new one, just because her old passport would expire early next year, whereas she will be going for a 2-year program. When she obtained the new passport (this process took about 6 weeks), she notified IRCC by webform. She had to also defer her admission from Summer to Fall of 2021 and she notified IRCC by webform.

Her timeline is as follows:

- Upfront Medical: 7/12/2020 at QLife
- Applied: 18/02/2021
- Biometrics Request: 19/02/2021
- Biometrics done: 24/02/2021
- Medical Updated to Passed: 26/02/2021
-PPR and BvL: 3/06/2021

Her supporting documents are as follows:

Academic qualifications:

1) Offer and Letter of Admission for MSc Program at TRU, Canada.

3) Transcripts for 2nd degree in Nigeria
4) IELTS Result
5) WAEC Result

6) NYSC Certificate

She is 39 years old and has 3 kids between 6-10. She was very anxious because of her age and also because she is seeking for a 2nd masters program. We weren't sure what IRCC would say to these.

The kids did not apply with her. They will apply for study permits as soon as her PP is stamped. I hope I am not leaving out any important info.

Nairaland has been a blessing to me and my family. Many thanks for the selfless service rendered by all the gurus on this thread. These efforts will return to you in blessings. I wish all study visa hopefuls, success. We shall all be congratulated at the end. The journey was tortuous, but she could not have given up. Please don't give up!

I do hope that this post has given fresh hope to someone on the journey. That is the essence.

With God all things are possible!!!

Congratulations to your wife and you.

Thank you
Both of them will only be able to migrate their own immediate family i.e wife and kids. Even that is not guaranteed.
