Greater part of Northern States are empty vast dry land. Most of these areas are prone to desert encroachment which is one of the reasons Fulani herdsmen are migrating to South that have arable land.

The most deserted place in SE is livable or inhabitable compared to the state you mentioned.

Can you quantify, monetize the lives, dignity and food crops lost to herders down here? You see, when a goat is pushed to the wall, it will make an attempt at biting back! Where was everybody when the fulani herders were killing, maiming and kidnapping farmers in the South? Why the sudden uproar because the Igbos are fighting back?
