Yeah, Seun also owned Nairalist. He was trying to build a separate forum for jobs, matchmaking and the likes. But I guess he decided to close it down and focus on just Nairaland. Men! I met one girl via Nairalist...sweet memories wink

Yea you are right, Seun owned nairalist. I'm curious, where's the girl now? cheesy

I lost admission this 2018.
I can't even remember what I was looking for online when I stumbled on that medical students and aspirants thread....I just loved reading the comments there and I quickly registered on this site

During my university days. One cone-head roommate of mine was always on nairaland. He knows a lot. And any time we engage in argument he always wins and most time he would tell me "go check nairaland" grin then I started visiting nairaland as a guest and started winning arguments because of the knowledge I obtain here.

The good days before Nairaland became a place where people show tribalism, hate, and most importantly- their stupidity.

How can I forget those that force us to see the evils of the present leadership of Nigeria as good.

Through my elder brother. I saw him going through the forum on his phone n asked about it.

He mentioned "Nairaland n told me how interesting d site is. I googled it on my phone n got intrigued by it.

Since then, I have been stuck but didn't register on time cos I was always wondering how I could do that until my eyes stumbled on "join Nairaland"one fateful evening.

I join in 2016, doing a search on goggle i was redirected to nl, i joined 2 week later my first comment on Nairaland i was attacked with insult because my comment lacked punctuation, that shit hit me bad i almost deactivated, but the search became more interesting i ignored the bad vibes...

Since then i have been on Nairaland, i would have been a guru on politics thread but most people there are just high defined political, zombies, so i succumbed to only culture and romance thread....

I know many who my annoying comment have drawn them being a guest to a registered full time member all because they wanted to attack my opinon on a particular issue..

Nairaland is fun...

It was in 2014, I just entered the university newly then, they were this two guys in my lodge( AY and Roland) who knew how to savage and give very comic answers to everything around them, they were top notch when it comes to any topic of argument and always updated on everything happening in the world, so out of curiosity and wanting to be like them. The funny thing is that Roland and AY doesn’t see eye to eye as they are always yabbing each other’s region, Roland na Delta and Ay na Ekiti, they was dz funny sentence used to referred to Ay’s Origin( open deification republic) he was also called AFONJIA: so out of curiosity and wanted to know things like both of them, I went to Roland and asked then he asked for my phone and just typed NairaLand on my browser, from that moment till now, the is no day I don’t visit this forum like 10x, whenever am angry, I just go to comments to laugh out my anger, kudos to every member of Nairaland, most times we disagree to agree, and we should learn to at times respect ppl opinions, all fingers are not equal, am a teacher right now, and I make sure my students go through Nairaland every evening as some of its topic are part of my class work every day. Respect to Slawomirr, Righteousness, Ebukahades (YNWA) and all the others who are against secession and believe in one Nigeria, E go better.

The name NAIRALAND got me.
Twas in 2007 when some folks were criticizing the Nigeria movie company "NOLLYWOOD" that they should at least coin something like nairaland. I was awed by the name and had to check it out. I liked the name but never surf it for a second time.

In 2019, I was in a barbershop when a fellow customer-in-waiting was periodically laughing like a hynae. He'd burst laughing once in awhile and I wondered why such a grown-up would laugh out so loud like that.
Shortly, the guy showed us some comments and emojis and funny pictures. I couldn't helped but joined in the laughter.

When I got home, i checked nairaland. And then in the nite I continued. I can't 4get d first day I read some topics. I laughed my eyes out almost all thru the nite over comments.

My gain
When I joined nairaland, I was nursing social anxiety & depression. I had lost virtually everything to armed robbers who visited me in my house and I was down mentally. So, nairaland comments and some stupeed argument and experience and analysis and views and monikers such as lalasticlala, false prophet, etc. Aswertogod, this forum has helped my mental state a lot. I don't know how to laugh or joke or mess around due to personal belief cum training but this forum has enhanved all those emotions. I wish I had joined nl before 2019. I love Nigerian youths. You guys are d best: they are always broke but happy, crazy but fun, wreck less but smart & intelligent. I can't describe y'all.

I don't think we can have Nigerians kind of human beings anywhere in the world.
