Exactly!! These mods pushing all manners of fake news to the front page for traffic revenue should be careful before putting nairaland in trouble. They should have a robust system to find fake news and register the platforms like igberetv that regularly push news from their platforms here . Some of them are working with the IPOB terrorists and Boko Haram terrorists.

You are all over the place. Talked about IPOB, terrorists now it's fake news and nairaland. The people doing you are wicked sha, a full grown man behaving like this because of 30k stipend. You will be alright last last

Nairaland is of Nigeria and if the government found it a tool for the disruption of our progress then they can also ban it.

Nigeria is one and anyone who wants it's own country can go and join Mali or chad

So why is Buhari banning twitter?
well they haven't really been working well with his government, the bad part was jack himself came out openly to say he will support the endsars movement financially.......I guess Noone told him that as a business man you don't come out against the ruling administration of Nigeria....even if you want to support, go ahead and do it not that you come out and be talking anyhow.....anyway I'm sure after one week and millions of dollars in lost revenue he will send okonjie to AsoRock to help him beg.

If he had obeyed their rules his tweets would not have been taken down.

I will still go on and use my VPN because no illiterates jangbaweeds smoking fellows can prevent me from doing so.

Don't shift goal post

Boko Haram, IsIS remains designated Terrorist Organization worldwide because they fit the international parameters for been Terrorists.

Buhari who himself is a Terrorist affiliated to Boko Haram has no parameters to certify Ipob as Terrorists

Ipob are in every part of the world carrying out their activities yet not designated as Terrorists

Read it slowly

This is because their terrorism is taking place in more than one nation. International terrorists tag doesn't mean countries don't have their internal terrorists in place. IPOB terrorists will be labelled as international terrorists the moment they become like Boko Haram terrorists attacking and terrorising Nigeria, Chad , Niger and Cameroon at the same time . Your national sovereign interests can be threatened by terrorists without going outside your country. Before you start another wrong logic, remember that your IPOB terrorists leader is a fugitive from the law and no matter how long he runs, he will still face his case. All the audio and tweets from him calling for the burning down of Lagos, killing of our uniformed officers and the subsequent actions taken at his instructions are being documented as well.
This is not like the case of the highly revered Ikemba who returned and was pardoned after 15 years, his own case is terrorism and he has built up enough evidences against himself like this. All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose.visit www.freestuffsng.com for latest freestuffs in Nigeria.God bless Nigeria.

But Nigeria is a country that has every right to ban Twitter.

Besides, you’ve misinformed people in your earlier post that it can’t be Ban. You should edit it. Every countries around the world has right and can surely ban any social app!

You may like to take this to the bank.

It takes a lot of resources to ban a single media network in a country. You may have to invite professional hackers to do so, and by way of doing this, your government could be exposing the country to evil hackers who may undermine the country integrity.

The worst that could happen is for all social media to be banned or all internet networks to be disconnected. This in the long run will affect businesses, digital currencies, bank transactions and so on. Then, we will be removed from the global village scheme of things and all back in the 4th century when the world was still flat, not spherical and/or moving around the moon.

You are supposed to be the smart one but you don't know an announcement is made before any action is to be taken. How do you expect the ban to take effect in a few hours? It's meant to be systematic not something you turn on and off.

If an announcement is made before an action is taken, then it should read: "FGN to suspend....
Not FGN suspends. The news depicts an action that is already taken when it says "the federal government has suspended indefinitely...
May be I didn't read it well?

This is how Bitcoin ban happened and the likes

Knowing how the government agents have been so personal about Twitter especially in this government that has a thing for "hate speech"
Exactly. I think the headline and content of this news are in time travel.
A better reportage should have been: "Federal government (conclude plans) to suspend Twitter indefinitely.

Number 1, kanu came to Nigeria he was taken and granted bail by this junta judiary.

Yet this same junta came with soldiers to kill him, he had to leave since law isn't respected.

Now what is terrorism?

Terrorism is an idealogy, you don't have to go abroad or be local.

You can be in Kano plotting to destroy USA, they would label you Terrorists from there end after meeting parameters of threat

What is Ipob idealogy?

Ipob is a seccession group wanting out, is this legitimate yes

Did they express this internally in Nigeria Yes

Is that terrorism No, seccession is never terrorism

Does Ipob express their activities abroad Yes

Does it qualify as terrorism No

Buhari and his gang of 40 thieves would love such a situation. Those men are dark and dense at the same time.

But they have all failed and history will not be kind to them and their children even to the 4th generation, except those who renounce the evil of their parents.

For those of us who NEVER use Twatter, Farcebook, Instacrap or Tik Tacky, the banning of ANY such gossip platforms is of ZERO importance.

I have never had the slightest interest in seeing pictures of what people had for lunch, nor reading descriptions of their love life, their bowel movements, or their imaginary vacations.

Social media is for weak people who suffer from inferiority complexes that compel them to constantly seek attention and spread gossip.

Wole Soyinka is probably laughing his asz off right now because the Nobel Laureate HATES social media and the whole culture of pathetic buffoonery associated with it.

For anyone weeping because they will no longer get to see daily pictures of Mrs. Kayanshian's 300-pound buttocks and plastic udders, please accept my deepest condolences, but also take my word for it that life can indeed continue in the absence of social media gossip websites.
