Monthly pension allowance is paid to you every month upon retirement just as the way you receive your salary now. The new Pension law is the one that empowered FCMB pension for instance to deduct certain amount from your salary every month base on your level and save same for you upon retirement. Then gratuity is a certain amount like 12 million if you retire as a Director that you received upon retirement. Gratuity is now replace with the contributory Pension Scheme that is deducted from your salary monthly.
Thanks for your apt input.
To get it clear, no more gratuity.
As for the pension, i make my contribution now while in service, then upon retirement, i will be paid partly in percentage of my total contribution.
Is that it
If yes, at what percentage first on retirement and then the subsequent months that follow.......

Yes, you receive 70% upon retirement or 50% when you attain the age of 50 years then you receive the balance in the next 24 month( base on your Pension managers). The monthly Pension that you receive upon retirement comes from the State Government until death.

Hmmmmm, sound okay.
Do you mean that, if one attain the age of 50 and is still in service, he/she will receive 50% of total contributed?
Also, upon retirement, will you be paid from your remaining fund contributed by you alone or the state government(which is not making any now) will be the one paying then?
I would love to chat you up personally, if its okay by you.

thanks bro. But why do we still keep hearing pensioners complaining they're not being paid?
Is it that they have been paid their contributory pension from the pension companies they registered with but the government is not fulfilling its own part?

Majority of them were not part of the contributory Pension Scheme. What they complained about is their gratuity that the State Government stopped paying them since March 2012 which they are entitle to. Those that are part of the the Contributory Pension Scheme can approach their pension managers upon retirement or at the age of 50 for payment without stress.

. Let's be corrected, retireed civil servants are still
entitled to payment of gratuity aside refund of their contributory pension money n monthly payment of pension. It is just that the gratuity is a bulk of money running into millions depending on your grade level upon retirement n government delay in paying it. The last gratuity was paid by Ex Gov. Ameachi in 2012 or so n since Gov. Wike's coming to power, he has refused paying any retirees gratuity. No law or policy erasing payment of gratuity.

the bitter truth is Wike has Zero care and concern for human capacity development, worse of Teachers in the Civil service. Another shame is the so called NUT doing nothing regarding Minimum wage nor gratuity .....

In my LGA Etche, they said we should contribute 1k but along the line they did not finish with one school because of network. While some people are complaining about 1k. And I heard yesterday night that it was on hold.
Re: Rivers State Teachers Recruitment 2012 by NonnieMarthins(f): 1:54pm On Jun 17, 2021
Hmmmmm Etche LGA, they like to exploit teachers. Every time this kind of thing comes up, fiaaaam! They are already collecting money. Nobody should attack me cos I know what I am saying, if you do still, na your wahala.
Every time photocopy all your credentials and submit.
Chaaaiiii! Ariri.
Every time come to Okehi, every time this person say or that person say ...... mtcheeew

Since I came back to ObioAkpor LGA, I haven't given any head or anybody a dime for one thing or another, no plenty photocopy this or that except for the filings I did when I took my transfer.

Anyways! Teachers are great, no controversy at all.
God bless us all as we are making great impact.
