Why sending messages to someone's contacts, labeling the person a criminal. To make matter worse, they will still expect you to pay back the loan with the outrageous accrued daily interest.

To the best of my knowledge, this loan apps won't go about tarnishing your image, even when you miss the deadline.

They will first give you a call and give you additional time to pay up.

Your reaction to that call/additional time is what will determine what next they will do.


I have a friend who told me he took loan from one of this apps (Branch specifically). After missing his deadline, they gave him a call and he told them he didn't have the money yet. Then they told him he can be paying back small small and it's not compulsory he has everything at once.

He started paying back gradually, 1k, 2k, 5h till he paid back his loan. They Never disgraced him because of his reaction.

But many Nigerians have zero intention of paying back the money they borrowed.

That's how one was asking me how he can borrow 50k or 100k from this apps. He wants to borrow a reasonable amount because he does not want to pay back.

branch is one of the useless app out there , during endsars, i once took loan from them and carbon to clear some of my imported item and have been paying ahead , branch money remain 3k while carbon was 15k . branch send a reminder that i should pay, i contacted their support and told them i have cash but due to the ongoing crises i dont have anywhere to deposit the cash with me. but the lady replied me that i should find a way to deposit the money which i asked which bank is opening during the riot or what pos will risk their life ? he kept on saying i should look for family and friend that need cash. on the other hand carbon mail me that if i wouldnt be able to meet up i should let them know , fortunately i got someone to transfer to my account , i paid them and deleted their app straight even block their mail self.

Sometimes you won't even borrow, they won't disburse yet it will be reading that you have borrowed and must pay within 7-14 days. In rare cases, just an installation of the app can put you in a big mess, once they read your contacts, you're done for. Their staffs are I'll trained, rogues and louts. They themselves know you can't meet up with such ridiculous tenor and interest but you need they loan badly. They know you'll have no choice other than to collect it. Once you refuse to meet up with the deadline, they start their antics by ruining your image and that of your family. My question is why involve his family?

These guys go as far as impersonating barristers and lawyers just to make the situation look real. I blame android IS for not regulating them, you can never find such apps on IOS. I also blame the CBN for not regulating these loan sharks.

That's how some of them do. Sometimes you won't borrow but once they have your phone number from probably one of your contacts that borrowed, they'll start sending you texts to pay up an imaginary sum of money you have no idea where it came from. They'll even go as far as creating account with your phone number and tell you to log in with so so number and password. Once you log in, you're finished. They'll steal your contacts and start blasting them with messages that you're on the run with company money

Get it clear: You can't BORROW money from somebody and choose not to pay back. Shoot ke, even if you blast bazooka they will catch up with you. By the time they finish with you, you would have paid double or more of the principal to the lender, police, civil defence, lawyer, even area boys. And you will end up being the motherfvcker.

Fact is, the loan wasn't forced on you - rather, with widely open eyes you sign for it. The only way out of this terrible mess is to adopt an interest-free system where you pay back what you actually borrowed.

once you click allow from the app once they ask for permission to your contacts,they automatically have access to it even if u add a new contact, delete or edit. Once your google contact automatically sync on your phone,it also syncs over there.

I have never used this App and I hope I will never do. Anything I see,that's what I spend. Even if it's to drink garri and sleep in peace, knowing I owe no MFs,is good by me.
Credit/loan is good,and many entrepreneurs won't be where they are today if not for loan. But make sure you are borrowing to make more money.
