To be honest I don’t know what you are talking about, but thanks for the essay.
Maybe I need to make myself clear. The original reply to mamatukwas post was “Me and my team dey watch you ooo” which was written playfully with no bad intentions. My aim is to pass the message that this forum doesn’t have a face as we don’t know who is reading and monitoring what we put on here.
These gbas gbos is not necessary walahi.

Sincerely speaking, that was what I thought too. I thought you were only trying to suggest some subtlety.

I have said the same thing severally.
And that guy’s ‘crime’ was because he disagreed with the mod of this page.
ralphjeans post and link was very helpful. I applied and received a mail in the post 3 days ago, exempting me from paying Tv licence.
The Ralph guy offered sound legal advice. Yet he was banned because the moderator preferred door closing rather than simple legal means to get Tv licence exempt.
And that was enough for a ban.

Someone provided 100% legal panacea for Tv licence, he was banned. And yet we blame Buhari, Lai Mohamed and AGF Malami for banning Twitter in Nigeria.
SMH

Was he banned because of that altercation?
If he was that's hugely unfair. I normally waka pass the dramas here, but as I remember it, his advice in the Tv license thing was sound.

Finally someone here get me. Phew!!

The same Mamatukwas, i have never said anything or post anything when she sort her BDC things instead I have advise few on Nairaland to do transactions with her as she is legit.
Instead all I got is all the unnecessary gbas gbos while I was trying to subtly pass my message on.
Anyways it worked as someone earlier posted a link that can help anyone bringing in food for personal use. Which I hope will help us just as the TV license info helped.

Hello, I stumbled on your post and thought to give a sincere advice as a current PGCE student in UK. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO STUDY PGCE SECONDARY ENGLISH, IT IS HARD TO GET A JOB.
I have colleagues in Secondary English really scouting for jobs. Like you said that department is saturated. You may look at PGCE primary instead, if you want settlement.
PS. I study secondary mathematics and already got a job for September.

Oga or madam you are part of the problem we talked about recently. "pull down syndrome ". That is why Nigerians cannot collectively rise and be great together. You only been in UK barely 5 mins you are here forming Olokpa of Nairaland.

Aunty Priti Patel quietly signed a deal with India and Britain to agrees to accept more students and talented young immigrants into Uk in exchange for increased deportations ..... imagine this nonsense. Why is India special, most people if they catch you here illegally they deport you straight. Why does Indian have to have this special agreement. You can be sure the first part of taking in thousands will happen and the later part will be radio silence. But its their quiet way of raising their people

Secondly they quietly added occupation chefs in visa categories so that once they graduate and no job. They can quietly package themselves with visa for 5 years as a chef in an Indian restaurant. At least after 5 years it ILR for them that way they get to stay here.

Left right they are quietly putting policies to favour them and their strength will become in their numbers. Sadiq Khan it going to be hard to unseat him even as he doing rubbish here.... because of numbers of voters .

These are few examples...instead what do we have here. Mamatukwas minding her lane, never posted anything illegal apart from making me salivate with her mention of fish, egusi but you are forming officer of Nairaland

Welldone and continue watching .....
When I read his initial post, I didn't think it had any malice or intent to pull down her business. I didn't also think he accused her of illegal dealings. What I understood was him giving insider information that we should all be careful when importing things as the government is planning to scrutinise it more. That is what I understood.

This group and drama.

Oga Justwise, kindly unban Ralphjean. Not sure he warranted that long ban
If he was banned as a result of the TV license thing then that is wrong. My major problem with the mod here is the penchant to ban dissenting voices even if they have not committed an offense. Justwise please unban him. We need as many people as possible to make this thread lively and informative.

How come i haven't banned everyone that disagrees with me here? How come he is the only person that got banned? Calling me a criminal for not opening door to TV lience people? I have no class for not reporting that i don't streaming live program?

How many of you here have i banned?

Have i ever banned you before but we have disagreed on many issues.

How many of you here have i ever banned? Even when we don't agree on the same issue?

Don't i have the right to give my opinion on issue without receiving insults from someone?

Don't streaming any live program and i don't want to pay for something i don't use but i still get called a criminal.

Point out a single person i banned here that did nothing wrong, just one, mention the person's ID and i will pull out the post.

Nah, English exists as a common lingua franca to hopefully help us communicate clearly. That way the chances of ‘misreading’ a situation becomes quite slim. There is NO way I could have surmised from and I quote:

‘My Team and I are watching’ #Justsaying’ in response to a perfectly normal post that it was meant to be anything positive.

This thread exists to educate, inform, encourage (I hope), if you want to do so, do so. If anyone sends out wrong information and you know better, state it clearly so we can all learn. The poster missed a golden opportunity to educate us on aspects of food import that we may have benefited from. Telling us you are ‘Watching’ is supposed to help me how please?

Furthermore, if myself or anyone else who responded misunderstood the poster, there was AMPLE opportunity to clear it up quickly yesterday. But no.

I’ve sha promised someone I respect to drop the matter so I’m dropping it. Apologies accepted if the poster truly didn’t mean it. Cheers.

If we have to wield the big stick every time someone insults us, we all will become tyrants, dictators, authoritarians, autocrats, Buhari, Idi Amin, Hitler, among other names.

Stop banning people for just calling you names. It’s abuse of power and an infringement on their freedom of expression - simple. What you did is not any different from what Buhari did with Twitter. He felt disrespected and banned Twitter, while you also felt disrespected and banned that fellow! Stop it, it’s beneath you and unbecoming of a gatekeeper.

You have to be more tolerant. “Insulting” you is not an offence. Come on, man! It’s a free world. Is name calling a ban-able offence on Nairaland? If so, Buhari is a saint compared to the rulers of this forum. Sigh sad

Thanks for educating me on that. I must admit I never read the rules - not worth my time. However, if that’s the case, I move to expunge and repeal Rule 2 from the Nairaland constitution, since it’s the season of constitution amendments in Nigeria.

Any seconders? grin

Because that’s the hallmark of a dictator? What that means is that if you had the power to kill or throw people in jail for just insulting you, you’d do it. What that further means is that you are no different from Generals Buhari and Abacha, Messrs Kim Jong-un, Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, amongst other notorious human rights abusers living and dead!

Justwise, you are being untruthful here.
Some of us followed that argument very carefully.
That guy NEVER called you a criminal.
If I recall correctly, and I am sure I recall correctly. The guy said not paying Tv licence is a criminal offense in the uk. Which is very true.

I dare you to unban him, then bring back all his posts that you deleted, and show us exactly where he insulated you.
