And some people still believe in one Nigeria.

Anyway, Lagos has never been a good place to live.

Looks politically motivated..
Obvious this was a hatchet job..
There are significantly worse cities to live in..

Now if you say.. National capital, even with that, it doesn't quite make the list.

A little disappointed in The Economist:-- expected a better researched article... might have to thrash them as I did Forbes list

.
major cities, not every city.

You're so damn right i hate to admit it. Take a million slum dwelling Africans to live for 20yrs in Geneva and at the end of the experiment that world class city will be turned into a shithole.Or if you take 340m poorest Africans to live in USA and you ship out all US citizens to Africa then after 60yrs you'll see those same Africans now want back migration having ruined the USA. Its their (or should i say our) mindset that is sick.

For one, Maiduguri is one of the most protected cities in the world at the moment. That doesn't mean I am rating her in anyway.

Notwithstanding, if you have stayed in other cities, you will feel the need to agree with the stat. Lagos is a heavily messed up city. I mean heavily messed.

LMAO.....I trust my people, we will quickly accept the faux data without using our brain. Do you know how many cities we have in the world? Over 10,000, without cranking my medula too much, let's delve into Syria, some cities in India, Palestine, Haiti, even without leaving Africa, you would blame yourself for relocating to Nairobi or a city in Mali.

Here's another list by Forbes that will surprise you: https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurabegleybloom/2021/02/24/survey-ranks-the-worlds-best-and-worst-cities-to-live-the-us-did-surprisingly-well/?sh=2fc6d7da3ca8 , knowledge is power my people......Don't let these muthafudgers kill us with depression grin grin

Nope! It cannot (certainly not since Ghaddafi’s demise)…
But nonetheless it’s supposed to be a “liveability” (not infrastructural) index!

Well said….
Independent thought and inquiry is not the strongest suit of many colonized Nigerians/Africans.

Unfortunately, because most of what passes for ‘education’ in Nigeria starts with the phrase “repeat-after-me”….
Most supposedly educated Nigerians merely cram/memorize and regurgitate any and every drivel that is served up.

But that's a different criteria used there bcoz these cities have large expat communities. They rate poorly due to high cost of living that's why you see Hong Kong,Seoul ,Paris ,Rome ,Nairobi and Cublin rating poorly. The survey was done exclusively using expats living in these places unlike one for Lagos that used indices measuring quality of life for all residents rich and poor.

I still love Lagos regardless of it being ranked as the second least livable city. The smell, the heat, the dust, the endless traffic jams; the agberos with kush-darkened lips and bloodshot eyes; the cacophony of blaring car horns, screaming bus conductors howling at passengers, music from woofers blasting at a high pitch...all make Lagos what it is - a unique city unlike any other in Nigeria. I love Lasgidi die! On a serious note, the problems of Lagos are multi-layered, some can be fixed by the government such as the provision of better infrastructures like roads, affordable housing, drainages, landscaping; provision of waste bins especially in places of businesses such as markets, malls etc. How can ordinary residents contribute to make Lasgidi a better city? Cleanliness! Some Nigerians are not particularly concerned about hygiene, and this is evident in the way kids and grown adults litter their environments with total disregard for cleanliness. If everyone makes conscientious efforts to clean their environments, and litter less, Lagos would be looking attractive.
Finally, all of us for Ikoyi, V/I, Lekki, Banana Island, Eko Atlantic, this shameful ranking reach everybody ooo!

Use your brain.

If the best in your class failed to measure up in an international competition and crashed second to the last. Who gave you the audacity to mention the names of his colleagues he is better than in that competition.

Our best is second worst. Maiduguri and other states in Nigeria should then be seen as jungles.

But they're right. It's stressful living here. With all the money generated in taxes , the rate of development is not commensurate. Its like at the speed of a snail. Such is expected when you have a thug turned leader who doesn't know anything else than breed thugs and acquire private jets.

I've been to virtually all the best livable cities mentioned , except Auckland, Melbourne and Brisbane. No single person owns a private jets in Geneve. The cities of Veyvey, Montreal, Lusan, etc in Switzerland are far better than our Lagos. We can achieve these statuses too provided we can produce a leader who could block all the channels through which Jalaban and his cohorts pilfer our resources

What do you expect when one person can own the money meant for up to 6 states put together? Where do you think that will place the rest of the populace? Thats the problem

Sometimes I blame the people for voting bad leaders, but then you have to blame the bad leaders for not educating the people...

What's special about ur time? Isn't it d same time u used in making these bogus claims below?

"In the report it tagged Lagos unsafe security wise.
Me and you as Nigerians know Lagos is the safest city in Nigeria or one of the safest but the report has 'tagged Lagos unsafe' because Nigeria as a whole is a blood pit.

By hard work, countlessly we have seen the efforts of the LASG and it's goal to make the city a Dubai, so it's unfair on their efforts after seeing a report like this."

Did u consult Google before u arrived at ur conclusions? Meanwhile,

Pls answer d following questions:

1. Which "hardwork" are u referring to?

2. How does d rest of d country being a shithole make Lagos suffer & prevent it from being appreciated?

3. Can u negate d information provided in d report?

The real question is: Tell me what are the achievements of home-based players in CAN, WAFU, ACL etc. that shows they are worthy as the main base for selection to represent Nigeria instead of the foreign-based players.
