Good day all,
Great work y'all doing,I'm more than happy to be in this platform. I have questions, to which I need answers.
Firstly I applied for admission at U Calgary and haven't gotten admission yet so I decided to use the opportunity to prepare for visa application. I wanted to go ahead and prepare for the upfront medical but I'm thinking it's not the best idea, considering that I haven't been given admission.
Secondly, concerning the ties to home country, I'm aware that a current employment letter from ones company justifies the point buy in my case, I obtained a BSC biochemistry in 2019, served and started working a cashier which is not related to my degree obtained. I have resigned from the job but I feel this could raise a red flag for me because I wasn't working in the same line as my degree, plus now I'm jobless.

Please how do I go about this, how will I prove strong ties to my home country and should I go for the upfront medical without getting an admission letter.

Thanks fam

I need clarification regarding this, what if the re-entry won't be anytime close to the date of departure from Canada? Like after a semester, one returns to Canada.

Hello Shupy,

Nice work you doing. An entry will be granted but it entirely falls on the discretion of the CBSA officer.

Even IRCC has it as a sign board that you are allowed entry at one point doesn't necessitate that a re-entry will be granted.

In this COVID-19, until Canada official declares open its borders to foreigners completely, it is advised to follow the GoC COVID-19 containment instructions.

Good day @emmalextop

Your sponsor should have
First year fees+10,000cad+3,000cad for proof of funds in account..... depending on school fees the amount in naira varies only you can figure that out when you get the fees of the school in cad and multiply all with the black market dollar rate of 420naira to be on a safe side.

Yeah your chances are increased since you have a strong argument to return back to Nigeria..

Below are the list of documents for company

Sponsor 1 Documents (Company)

1. Letter of Sponsorship
2. Article of association and memorandum
3. CAC CERTIFICATE
4. Particulars of directors in the company
5. Tax Clearance Certificate
6. Company bank statements for the past six (6) months.
7. Board Resolution Letter stating that they are fully aware of this sponsorship and approve it.
8. Affidavit of Support
9. Business invoices

Hope this helps.

Yes, thanks for your response!

1) I have already paid a part payment of my tuition as also stated among one of the privileges of the scholarship, which is part payment before study and full payment at the inception of study.
And then, i have the tuition receipt from the school, that states my name, that the school has received the amount in my student account, it doesn't have the company name definitely, i hope this is fine!
2) The company is my sponsor, so there is no other sponsor since it is scholarship or can anybody add as sponsor again? I should include my dad?
3) I thought living expenses is just 10KCAD in my own account, why 3CAD?
4) Towards the application of my visa likely around ending August or early September for Jan 2022, the company will send me like 12kCAD for living expenses, accommodation, flight ticket and others, is it advisable to get the money by then(August ending) or it must be earlier backward like June/July, and if the company transferred the money in naira to my account, i think i have to provide a GIFT DEED right?
5) So far have seen just few persons under the sponsorship of their company or father's, my own is company's scholarship, hope my own case is not too rare oO, and hope it is real o? If you know so.
6) For the letter of sponsorhip now, i guess it's one person that will write it under the letter headed of the company, the chairman of the company right? Since it is his idea for empowerment in my state.
7) For the affidavit of support, what will be the template?
cool Please, what is particulars of directors, is board resolution letter not okay?

Hello AlexisHazel,

For the medicals, hold on till you are ready to apply or gain admission.

To increase your chances, the brief experience should be considered as a voluntary experience related to your graduate studies.

As a young graduate, not tracing any interest or extra activities done to your previous study and prospect study won't be a smooth ride for your application.

You should consider volunteering for a coy offering services that relates to your studies, and maybe a prospect job offer from the coy will walk an extent in demonstrating your employability in your country.

A job offer, inheritance, member of an organization or a sport team, board director or shareholder of a coy, family, (prospect) investment (plan), etc. are good ties demonstration.

Good day guys and gurus in the house. I am a first time poster. I have really learnt alot from this platform and want to say a big thank you to all the contributors.

To my issue, please consider my application and timeline and offer your take on my chances.

I applied for PGD in Human Resource Management at Niagara College.

Applied on March 19, Biometrics completed March 22. Upfront medical updated to pass on April 12. Eligibility review commenced on April 13.

Proof of funds- I paid for the full one year program at 17K CAD and attached the tuition receipt. I Showed about 4.4 M naira in account which was about 14,333 CAD at the time of application. I am married but will be travelling alone so I can use spouse as home ties. I have no kids at the moment. I provided all NSE documents upfront.

I also attached a property document gifted to me from my mother and some share certificates.

I wanted to know from the gurus in the house what they think about my proof of funds. Is it enough to get a study permit. I am self sponsored and I only tendered my own account. I have not gotten a decision yet but wanted to get an idea from this platform whether my funds are enough from the vast experience of the gurus in this platform. Thank you.

What course and program are u applying for?
While you are waiting for your admission it wouldn’t hurt to try other schools also.
As for the medicals calm down first. Instead work on a killer sop because being jobless and having no career progression is not only a red flag. it’s green, purple, indigo and orange.

Good morning people. I need the gurus to help take a look at this scenario;
Here's someone who has been working as an internal Auditor with a Federal Government agency for the last 10 years. Holds ND Accounting (2004), BSc accounting (2008), Msc Policy Analysis (2016), ANAN certificate (2016). Married with 3 kids. The proposed course of study is Masters in Organizational Management in Canada. The main reason for this choice of course is in preparation for managerial position at the place of work. How convincing could this reason be?
Frank opinions please.....

Hello Zocken,

Depending on how you are connecting your reasons and the purpose it aims at, Policy Analysis is tandem and can be a progression of Organizational Management.

You have to do some extra work in your conviction and justification of intent. Remember, the receiver is looking out for reasonableness.

Is this a good since as it change since Thursday and no other update up till now.

Please I need your contribution

Hello Victory1989,

Since eligibility has begun, the MER will come. For NSE, not everybody will receive the request.

The NSE commercial from IRCC is a success and they are gradually imposing some strict measures in assessing the NSE stream as per meeting the requirements.

Good day everyone, please the gurus in the house, at my place of work you need 3years to been given a study leave, but I would be two years this October. Since it would be difficult to get the study leave approval letter, what can I use as a substitute. Thank you

Hello Jblogs38,

As long as you have applied, you should relax and have the outcome play out as it is. If you demonstrate that your spouse is self-sufficient and financially gainful, your POF of funds is okay.

However, if your employment and economic justification are not convincing and if the grounds on which your economic justification was established lacks adequate and/or sufficient evidence, then the "personal asset and financial status reason lurk around." This is the hottest reason this season.

Allow the officer to advise you on the outcome of your application before you begin to worry about asking such a question.

Hello Kudiratu28,

Get the Employment Letter of Introduction to refer you as a permanent employee of the coy and that you have maintained a good relationship with the coy and that you are up or been considered for promotion.

It boils down to the tone and suitability (of the purpose). Include all the necessary evidence demonstrating your employment.

...

For those whose employment is of low wages or salaries, it will be advised not to forget to demonstrate "employability" and "available opportunities" (current employment situation in the home country and/or CoR).

Q: My CGPA is low; can I get scholarships in Canada?

A: Of course Yes because getting scholarship isn’t based on academic achievement only i.e we have non-grade sensitive scholarships but leadership potential and abilities’ as well.

Funding are available to students for study in Canada so we provided links to different kinds of scholarship available to study in Canada inside the guide.

Most of these are available at the graduate level, but there are some secondary school and undergraduate entrance scholarship available, particularly through individual institutions.

You should apply early to the educational institution of choice, to ensure that you are considered for entrance scholarships and awards.

Based on what I’ve just shown you, can you begin to see why it makes good sense not to wait any longer?

Faster Permanent Residence Pathway for International Student:

1) International Post graduate student in British Columbia become eligible for PR with no prior Job experience

2) In Ontario, they have a program called the OINP Masters graduate stream for people who completed their master’s degree and have lived in Ontario for 1 year. They don't need to show work experience and they don't even need a job offer to apply.

3) In Saskatchewan, there is a program that allow you to apply for PR having lived and schooled for 1 year

Most Provinces has soft spot for International Student to Become Permanent Resident Faster

Yes,its nursing, which has always been my childhood dream. I am a graduate of geology. But I grew up with a nurse and showed proofs and explanations why I will like to pursue this dream.

Your gcms note looks good and promising for an approval, but for the refusal. When was the gcms requested? Maybe some issue came up after the initial request.
However, going by this gcms, you have no reason to be refused, except that the course you choose is so competitive in Canada, plus you SOP perhaps did not do the needed justice.

Get another gcms for 2nd opinion, then reapply with focus on the initial course you did do in the early years, bearing your end goal in mind.

I wish you all the best.....it will end in praise for all hopefuls.
