Thugs are a daily reality of Lagos. It was not the protests that brought them out. Those thugs were also at Ojota in 2012 drinking and smoking while the fuel subsidy was going on. The difference then was their paymasters were around to meet their every need which ordinary protesters may not be able to cater to everyday

Nigeria has been experiencing a jump in inflationary trends since 2016 but it's Endsars that happened for two weeks in 2020 that caused it. I guess Endsars has been affecting the economy before it actually happened. This is unbelievable that a youth can think like this.
