Good morning to you all. Please I need your candid opinion on this issue, my ivf doctor said they do recomend preventive cerclage at 12weeks for their patients. I don't have any issue with my cervix at all ,so I'm just thinking if its even necessary. Did any of you do any preventive cerclage or your doctor recommend it after ivf even when you u have no issue with d cervix. Pls mamas , I need response.

If you have experienced miscarriage in the past around second trimester, then u may need it.

If u are carrying twins/triplet, u may need it.

Seek a second opinion. May Almighty God keep you and the babies.

I meant inserting the estradiol ie the progynova vaginally it absorbs better and increases the endometrial lining faster

Thank you mama @ nnennachiji for the explanation. God will answer our prayers and make us mother of children in Jesus' name. Amen.

its a dicey one, we were in same boat with twins, ivf hospital insisted on cerclage, google and a few other docs, said its not necessary as it was a first preggy, and no history of first trimester miscarriage...............i did more googling and decided not to go ahead with the cerclage. babies got to due date window without issue and refused to come out, na im doc asked out to select date grin grin grin grin.

nb: we were on vasoprin 80mg from bfp to 1 wk b4 edd grin, easy peasy preggy, no ms, no nothing

Its not compulsory don't let anyone fool you. For surrogates it's compulsory because they want the baby's arrival to be timed but for the real parents and if 1 baby it's not compulsory if all parameters are ok. You still have a long time b4 delivery so you can always get a second opinion. Drs advise CS because they believe its safer for those who have waited. If u are young, in good shape, baby is ok don't see why you shd be forced to use CS if you don't want to. Always get a second opinion from another specialist. Abi have u paid delivery in advance wt ivf fee? If answer is no, no answer am just do ur antenatal jeje n waka when time reach cheesy
My time d clinic my company referred me to South Shore refused CS sef. Dr Alabi said since everythg is okay I don't need CS. Na me run cos I wasn't ready for pushing things when Georges already gave me date to see my babies @37wks lolzzzz, so it depends on what you want. If u believe u dont need CS n second n 3 Rd opinion confirms same, Babe pray about it and ask God to take d lead. U fit even offload sef naturally before the CS date so don't allow anythg worry you at this time. U don't need it. One love
kai this your reply got me in tears. I am 30 years old, so far so good everthing thing seem so good from the scan. Placenta has formed and its posterior. I will yeild to your advice. God bless you Blendy!

Wow! Thanks to all that responded to my question. I went to see another Dr yesterday and he suggested preventative cerclage before I even talk. May God lead me

Preventive cerclage not really necessary
I did it with my successful transfer because I had a second trimester miscarriage at 21 weeks which was naturally conceived
So I did it to prevent another occurrence
I insisted on it , was not required of me
I didn’t want another loss since for cervical incompetence diagnosis it’s three second trimester miscarriages
I didn’t want that diagnosis even though I continued to check my cervix and it didn’t shorten throughout pregnancy
It’s really not necessary if you have not experienced a loss

it was the seminar he held for us before the procedure, i am just 4months gone. But he is saying all IVF pregnancies must use CS. I am just concerned if it is compulsory to use CS for delivery, when there is no pregnancy complications.

I don’t think it’s right for him to say all ivf conception must be cs
I think he is trying to play safe because of all the money spent
A lot of people have delivered vaginally after conceiving with ivf
Unless there is an indication for cs
It shouldn’t be routine

Hello mamas, I'm here again. I'll be going for hysteroscopy next week.

Please those that have done it before, what should I be expecting? How uncomfortable is it?
Thank you

Update:
I went for the hysteroscopy last week, i was placed on general anaesthetic i think, because I woke up 2 hours later.

They removed the fibroid in my uterus, which they showed my hubby. I have an uncomfortable pipe i have to carry around for a week before its removed.

The cramp is so much, omg.

Now they are saying before i begin my ivf procedure, i have to come for another hysteroscopy re check in two months time to be sure all is well, which i will be paying an additional 200k plus.

I didnt know it will take this turn, its more than I bargained for. I tried to use another clinic and i was told i will do all the pretest and hysteroscopy because they can only use their results.

Sighs, this journey is crazy, I have no idea what to do at this point. Lord have mercy

Thank God the fibriod has been removed. Just stick with your clinic.

IVF most times doesn't go how we plan it financially.

Noting beautiful comes easy.

All the best sis.

Good day everyone,

What is the best IVF clinic in Nigeria, irrespective of price? My cousin has suffered repeated losses, including still birth a couple of years ago.

I will strongly advise you do it if you are carrying multiple and/or if you really want to tread the path of caution. We were carrying multiple and we didnt want to take any risk ( having waited for 10years), so we did it with joy at week 11. Money didnt mean anything to us and i thank God it ended in praise. Kindly seek a second opinion if you are not convinced.

Hello mamas. I just did hysteroscopy, and a lady told me now that based on her experience, she will advice i wait for 3 months before trying to conceive, because it can result to uterineadhesion.

I want to ask pls, is there any mama here that has done hysteroscopy too but has a different view? Pls eppp!

Our doctor didn't say to wait, but i also would like to hear from someone that has been in this boat.

Doctor only said, i should come back in two months do they can check if its properly healed, then my ivf procedure can begin, but i on the other hand wanted to be trying naturally, and the lady says its a bad idea.

Thank you so much.

I’m embarking on my ivf journey but fluid (hydrosalpinx) was detected in my tube with multiple cyst but my dr gave me the option of doing open surgery to remove the affected tube before my IVF procedure as it increases the chances. Anyone with similar experience?

I had it. I've removed mine. I'm presently on my 2 weeks wait after embryo transfer.

Hydrosalphinx is not embryo friendly. The fluid flows back to the uterus and kill the embryo. Your doctor is right about removing the affected tube before IVF. Just go with your doctors advise.

With all other factors ok,you should get pregnant with the ivf procedure.
