Hello @ justwise and co I kindly seek your advice on this issue. For a child born outside wedlock and but lives with her dad who is married due to the death of her biological mother. How does the dad go about processing her documents as part of the dependents going with his legally married wife to study in the UK?

Please note she bears the father's name also.

Is your name on the child birth cert as the father?

Do you have a copy of the death cert of the mother?

If the child is yours...and you have proof of it...this is no problem at all.

In the UK it's common to have children from other partners

You can travel with her but do you have death certificate of the mother? If such certificate is issued in Nigeria

I guess if she died at the hospital it will be a different case.

Go ahead and apply and explain in her application that her mother is late but that you could not get the death certificate as she died in the village and not at the hospital.

Thanks for your advice, my wife is currently applying as a student and intends to name the kids I had with her and my daughter as dependents. So just trying to play safe incase questions arise as per why my wife's name is not on her birth certificate.

Good day
I read through the thread and it’s very insightful. Thank you all for your contributions... please I have some questions and I am very open to your opinions before I begin the uk study process...

I have a biological sister and her family living and working in the UK since 2016.
Currently another of my sibling got admission to study in the Uk and he will be going with his wife as his dependent (they have submitted their visa application) my question is this;

I’m thinking of going for a degree in the Uk though I’ve got plans for Canada but the border restriction is frustrating.....

1) considering that I have 2 siblings in the Uk, if I apply for a study visa, my spouse will be accompanying me (the same thing my sibling is doing) Do you think it would raise a red flag for the visa officer? Won’t there be issues like insufficient ties to home country?

2) I’ve had 1 Uk visa denial on basis of insufficient funds. Will it pose as a problem?

Thank you very much, anticipating your response

In Nigeria, you can get death certificate from NPC but they usually prefer a certificate from the hospital. Any government hospital will give you that especially if you have her obituary announcement poster.

You will also need to go to the gender affairs office and confirm if you are in the clear. Just to be sure.

Hi everyone, if you have been refused a student visa to the UK before based on credibility as a student and proof of funds, can you still apply again and get a visa? Thanks.

Trading can be regarded as business, i'm sure many foreign students do it and making sure they don't get caught. Basically you need to be careful how you go about it else you will be breaking your student visa rules
OK thanks
