Nonsense comparison between Kano and Lagos... Whenever they say Lagos, it's the entire Lagos, because Lagos is a Megalopolis, but when they say Kano, they mean the Kano City which comprises only 6 out of the 44 LGAs in the State. Those outside LGAs are by far more populated than the Metropolitan LGAs multiple times... Besides, Lagos is to a large extent populated by outsiders, both from other States and neighboring Countries, while Kano is not. The earlier Yorubas get this into their skull the better for them.

theTranslator: They don't need to mention it, Lagos is a Megalopolis we all know that, while other States mentioned are not. Besides, if you calculate the quoted Lagos population against the Landmass, you'll arrive at a population density similar to that of Lagos, anything short of that will give you an unrealistic population density. |

Siwisheswereesh:Only Lagos, (that's the island) is 15 million, not the whole state and you think Onitsha is not up to 6 million. Keep deceiving yourself with NBS and NPC figures. In 2006, Bola Tinubu conducted a census and found 21 million people in Lagos while NPC figure puts Lagos state at 9 million. The same figure says Aba is about 200k. 5 Likes 1 Share |

SouthEastFacts: Onitsha can be more populated than Kano city agreed, but you should refer to my earlier comment, that Kano city comprises only 6 out of the 44 LGAs, with each of the remaining 38 LGAs boasting of a population relatively close to those at the Metropolis... Urban LGAs, that's where our strength lies... Visit and tour Kano, you'd understand better. |

YOu just said Maiduguri is accommodating most of Borno's population because of the insurgency leading to the build-up of the city and yet you are saying the stat is false. stop confusing yourself dude. oginnite:NPC stats are falsified. The stat here is from international organisation that has nothing to gain falsifying the data. oginnite:The stat said, Abuja and you are you still asking questions. |

theTranslator: If you don't understand what I wrote up there, why don't you consult Google? Nonetheless, let me come down a bit to your level. If you take a look at an average street in Lagos, it is roamed by fairly 50% men and 50% women, but that's not the case with Kano City.. Most of our women are indoors, that's why you have this illusion of a sparse Kano. By the time we ask all our women to also come out, you'd see the difference. Secondly, Lagos is inhabited mostly by outsiders, to the extent that some people are even laying claims om Lagos (Igbos). By the time every Lagos resident is asked to go back to his State, you'd see the difference. You and I know that Southerners from all walks of life view Lagos as a Paradise of some sort, and aspire to eventually relocate to Lagos, at some point in their lives. We equally have a substantial part of Lagos population as foreigners, both from neighboring Countries and other non-African States.... So coming from what I said above, if everyone would be asked to go back to his father's house, how many people do you think will remain in Lagos? |
