I believe you can sort this issue within the family either through reconciliation or Divorce.

All these advisers cannot help you o. I never see where a judge hears from A and proceeding to judgment without B stating their own part. Your hubby is not here to tell us his own side of the story.

Go on a family meeting and if it's not resolved, file for divorce.. guyman dy flex hm life.

No sane man will abandoned his lovely wife and not put a call through for 4 months.
Deep down in you heart, you know what's is happening between you both.
All this back and forth trying to seek adevice from peeps who dont know what really transpired between you both wont work.

You were both married,I believe his parents are aware he married you.
So you want to tell me none of your own family have put a call through to your hubby or you will say they don't have his number? You dad,mum or siblings!
Your husband's family all denied you?Common now!!!!
There is more to your story...Your last conversation with me,reflect more on it..
From your story,he was already a student before he married you,he came to naija, got married to you and went back to Canada, then suddenly ghosted you...Just like that.
You claim to have his supervisor's number, how did you get it?How man diasporan will their superior number to relatives back home.
Now call the supervisor and ask about your hubby from him.You dragging this story too much.
Sincerely,I am tired of reading your story here.Make a move and know where you stand.

Other option, look for someone matured here, send the person your hubby's number. The person will reach out to him and hear his side of the story.
You did not mention if you have kids yet.If it happen you dont have yet, return his bride price, divorce him and move on.
You cant be dying in silence while the dude is living his dream life.

Please, enough of your comment here, make move, take action. This thread has been derailed enough.

Some of my message might be harsh, but the truth is always bitter!!!!

Let me say it again,no man that love you will not reach out to you for 4 months, kojo!.
You said he told you to remove his pictures from facebook or so.The writing is on the wall there.Very very bold.
We were very good, all up till this year, if something had transpired between us would I come to Nairaland to be seeking for advice? I waited for 4months before I came here when a friend advised me to seek opinions on Nairaland, he gave me his supervisor number by himself and some other details which I could use this trying period. When I say family members are not saying anything, the last time I spoke to them which was yesterday they told me to move down to their house( family house), that I should not be worried or overthink anything that my husband is fine, I should just relax. Same thing they told my family but I do relax without been agitated. I won’t do anything bad to him, I just want to see the limit I can push him to make him talk and know what’s in dark, even if it’s a divorce. How do you file a divorce with someone that in incommunicado? Family members will now say I am not a virtuous wife( African mentality) they might even say I have someone I want to runaway with. The only thing his family have been screaming in my ears is to be patient and yesterday they told me to move my load and come and live with them.

He is very much alive, I think he is in a relationship with someone over there and trying to kick me out of the way painful but that’s the honest truth probably because of papers or money I really can’t fathom. But I know I will pull through

That's just pure wickedness, please stay strong, get back your single self and start living life again. If you do decide to move on please involve the elders in your family. They have to go to his family and traditionally put an end to the nonsense ( if there is anything like that) then you can find a way to legally separate from him.

When he knows he would go AWOL I wonder why he came home to tie you down in a loveless heartless marriage.

Hi guys, please I need some information.
In trying to hedge against Naira inflation by putting money in a foreign account, I am thinking of opening a savings account here in Canada as I am currently visiting.
Based on your experience, which of the banks would you recommend I go for in terms of zero service charge, tax and easy access outside Canada?
Although I plan calling the top banks for enquires, just wanna be double sure.
I will really appreciate a response, thanks.
@blackbuddy @maternal
Hi, if it’s not late, you can easily open an account with BMO. I opened one in 2019 when I was visiting unless they have changed. Just work into any BMO branch

This is totally dependent on the VO that would handle your case. While some vo might be generous some have no joy (because you folks presented the opportunity to them).

Find an immigration lawyer or wait for a year before you apply.

In fact once she get to Canada, let her look for an immigration lawyer and narrate to them. They would advice accordingly.

PS: She shouldn’t have said no. There are other things/people she could have used as home ties. In fact , once a married person is applying for study visa, the expectation most of the vo’s have is that their family will join them. I am sure she would have still gotten the visa even if she says you guys are coming with her.

quote author=folla post=102684852]Hello good people

Please I have a question that requires an urgent clarification.

My wife newly received a study visa approval, and myself and the children wish to travel to Canada as soon as possible. In fact, we plan to put in the application by next week. She is still in Nigeria and planning to travel in August for the fall intake. I plan to apply for SOWP, while the children will apply for study visas.

Meanwhile, in filling the family information form, she had indicated that no family member would accompany her to Canada. She had stated thus in order to use me and the children as home ties.

Now the question is: if the rest family members now apply to join her in Canada, would IRCC not consider this as amounting to misrepresentation? Could IRCC use the information in her family information form against us?

Do we have people here who had stated similar thing in their family information form, yet still got SOWP for the spouse and study visas for children?

Lekiboboe, Justmellow, Frankrobbn, and people who had gone through the process such as ILoveDLord, Schonebaby, jaybaby2017, please how did you tackle the issue raised below?

Thank you for helping out.

Yes you can join your wife
What dat question imply is that you are not going together on same trip
But nothing stop you from coming later
All she needs to do is apply for you after she has settled down, and gotten SIN, Home address and study permit proper those are the documents required to apply for you

Just be patient and allow her go alone first and you join later.

Hello Guys,

As an international student just going to Canada, what's the best way to pay for things with the $100 monthly restrictions on Mastercards ?

For example, the hotel qurantine which is the first 3 days after you land, the average cost is about $900, what is the easiest way someone can pay for this ?

Barter is not an option because their exchange rate is ridiculous.

I am just trying to figure out the easiest way to make payment from a Nigerian bank account.

Also, does anybody know a legitimate place in Lagos where someone can change physical cash to CAD or USD ?

For the 3 days mandatory quarantine, it can be paid for with cash, depending on the hotel.

It appears that the long-term plans your husband and his family had/has for you were made without involving you and your family. From all you have said and especially the above, I believe you are meant to be his Nigerian wife who will be based here, living with and for his family... to have his Nigerian/tribe/home children and perhaps live happily ever after.

If this is what you want, then move in with them and wait to hear from your husband whenever he reaches out to you. If this is not the life you have planned for yourself, then meet with your family first to discuss and determine the next steps. Definitely, if organized, they will want to meet with your husband's family, discuss, give deadlines, and go through all the works...Be prepared for it all. Eventually, more details will be revealed to you and you know the final decision to make concerning your future.

You have received all the information you need from NaiCanadians here. Life may be difficult here a bit but it is not terrible that you will be treated this way.

All I know is that you should choose what is best for YOU. Marriage is not meant to be lived like this. Mutual decisions should be reached. You cannot be raised by your parents to adulthood only to become foolish because of a man and what either his family or society thinks about you. Choose YOU FIRST! If it is your will to be a home wife, no problem so long as you find joy in it but if it is not, you came to this work with one name, one heart, and one brain....choose YOU FIRST!

To the men here who are sending her away, can't you just waka pass? Have her posts disturbed the flow of other conversations regarding living in Canada. Please have some empathy. Just pray that none of your loved females will ever be in such a forlorn situation where strangers would be their next best counsellors.

Amaka your responses amaze me. Do you want to pursue the issue or not? Answer that question cos the only thing I’ve seen you do here is counter each advice. Sis make a decision and stand by it.

If you want to pray and wait and move in with your “in-laws” to be answering “our wife” of a man who has ghosted you, then do it.

If you choose to deal with it because you’re somebody’s child and your emotions are toyed with, you have also been provided with a plethora of approaches to fight back.

I empathize with you but serve him instant karma and own it with your chest.

I have tried my best to water down exactly what I wanted to say but sis you can chose to be a glorified help for your in-laws or Bleep shit up and leave.

Good day @Alchemist01

If you have been given your visa you are entitled to buy 4000usd from the bank at normal rate and they stamp it to your passport you can either choose to collect cash or have it deposited to your dorm account.

Hope this helps.

Hello House, I’m glad I searched this thread out from google. It seems the majority here have passed through copr stage at least, and perhaps can offer some advice & encouragement because my tired is getting tired undecided
Tomorrow will make it four weeks my passport got to ircc through Accra VAC & up till now no word or update on our express entry profile beyond PPR letter. I’ve sent Accra HC a mail but no response. My spouse who’s inland has called but the agent didn’t have much info. We are CEC and our CPC is Edmonton.
I thought passport stamping doesn’t take this long. Or could something be wrong somewhere? We followed all due processes after PPR. embarassed

Update!
Accra returned my passport on Friday without the stamp undecided

Now, Ircc has given me instructions to send my passport again. Question is, can I send it to Abuja VAC instead? I learnt the passport will go to Nairobi VO. Reason why I’m considering Abuja is that I have not been able to get hold of who’d help me pay in Ghana cedis to Accra VAC.

Pls I’d like to know if the VO I send my passport to matters since I’ve already used Accra before

As Ontario prepares for the roadmap to reopening, the Nigeria High Commission, Ottawa is restructuring its stages of reopening to the public.

We expect to start the passport renewal session with urgent cases such as –

1. Students and workers whose study and work permits have expired.

2. Applicants currently out of status due to lack of a valid Nigerian passport.

To certify the validity of your claim, kindly provide the Mission with proof of the expiration by emailing your documents to-.

The Nigeria High Commission, Ottawa, is STILL CLOSED.

We will announce the resumption date shortly on the website and our social media platforms. We are here to serve you.

Another option is to send to Cairo VO through VFS Cairo. You can contact them here for more info: info.caneg@vfshelpline.com

The problem would still be payment though - you need to figure out how to pay VFS fees in their currency. When I sent mine, the fees were paid through an international wire transfer from an account in the US.

Do you mean I can just walk into any bank, show them my visa and they will help me change 4000USD at normal bank rate ?

Hello house,
Good evening. Please i have a slight challenge. I just got an email from IRCC asking to renew my medicals as it expires in August and i am traveling to canada next month. My questions are:
1. I travel in July, do i still need to do it before leaving?
2. If i renew it, would it affect my visa already issued, and the whole process?
3. How long will it take for IRCC to receive it and update it.
4. What happens if i travel without renewing it?

I am so confused and i'll really appreciate all the help and advice i can get
