This yellowish flame reeks of fossil.

Supposing this 'invention' is solar powered as claimed, the end product will be burning bright bluish flame, not the yellowish-soot-ladden flame as seen in the picture.

This is worse than a mediocre invention, its a daylight fraud. People all over the world view this site, we shouldn't be celebrating fraud in this country (UAR)

Both sides of the ongoing argument are rather hilarious.

You can use the solar pv cells to generate electricity, then use the electricity to power an electrolyser to produce hydrogen and oxygen from water, then burn the hydrogen. You can also choose some other chemical to electrolyse.

Down side is 1. Cumulative energy efficiency will be very low, less tha 10%. But since we have sun light abundantly, it's not wastage economically, but just high capital equipment cost to cook

Downside 2. The real danger, is that hydrogen is explosive. Not something you play with in domestic environment.

Am still suspicious of that flame though, it burns more like a hydrocarbon.

solar dy say...nt gas! Abi na gas slove nw?

Young Man, if it's solar, there won't be any flame, yellow, blue, black, white, invisible, etc. There won't be any flame.

now let me school you...

The electricity from a solar panel can be used to create heat to start a fire. A resistive heating element like a cigarette lighter, toaster or stove element could be used.

However, a photovoltaic solar panel is about 10–15% efficient. Using the solar heat directly through a magnifying lens is much smaller, cheaper and efficient (more like 80%) depending on the surface being heated.

Now let me give u example...

PV panels can cause fires if installed improperly, just as anything electrical can, by creating a spark.

One dey even use Google to debate me...

Later Una go dey shout quota system up and down!!!

But na una be the real quota system products!!

Total bullcrap you wrote there.
You can't sustain an open flame without chemical fuel burning in air. In fact a flame is a chemical reaction zone, giving off light photons.

What he had there is a gas burner using venturi mixer.
His box either is producing a gas from solar energy or he is hiding a can of lpg or lighter fluid in the box.

To produce gas, option include electrolysis, or some sort of stored chemical release. In the later case, he will be using a primary fuel and solar as secondary energy source.

Either way, the efficiency from converting a primary energy in form of electricity to flame and heat is woeful and has no future.

You showed us a gas cooker disguised as solar cooker, so your own solar cooker flares from a single wire or hose ABI how, or your solar converts air into gas which explains the hose or just like cigarette lighter, the solar only sparks fire to the gas.

Aboki no go kill us with stupidity.
If you showed us a hot plate, I would have said well done.

I'm very surprised that most people in this part of the world still don't believe that solar power can ignite fire!!

So most Nigerians dont even know anything about solar thermal energy?

This explain why Africa is backward!!

Well you could generate fire by focusing the solar rays to a combustible location using concave mirrors but it wouldn't even make sense for cooking.
combustible location like what. Firewood? Still tells u that solar alone can only produce heat not flare

The electricity that the solar would generate that can break down( hydrogen and oxygen I guess you are talking about water) would be huge because of the bond between hydrogen and oxygen,
The cost of the product would be over expensive
Why would I use this long process when there is the least 200 kerosene

Secondary school chemistry teaches us characteristics of flame once it's yellowish it's basically from incomplete combustion of carbon so that device is fraud

Law of energy conservation in physics assures you can convert anything to any other thing as long as they are energy.
We do not normally do it, cause every conversation comes with losses. It does not make sense to convert electricity to chemical flames at low efficiency, seeing that electricity to heat- using Constantine wire has one of the highest efficiencies known.

Yes, I think the device is fraudulent.

But so you know, the electricity you need to break down water bonds in electrolysis is not huge, as little as 2.2 volts will electrolyse water, afterall it's the inverse thing that happens in your car and phone batteries, just that they use other kinds of electrolyte.

I did a lot of electrolysis as a kid. In fact, one time, I thought I had burnt my nostrils from breathing in chlorine from electrolysis of NaCl solution. The only hard thing is getting electrodes that will not react. Graphite rods in finger batteries.

Google says 1.23v for water.

Dude,

Do you know how many FULL-SIZE solar panels you will need to drive enough current through resistance wire to produce enough heat to cook?

The worst part of it is,

Solar energy doesn't BURN like a kerosene stove.

Anyway, lemme assume I'm wrong, and you're right (you ain't!!!).

I hope yiu will update us on the development of this "Aboki tech", including when it goes to mass production and where we can buy the cooker.

Tenkiu.
