You guys stole their language and culture while migrating to core Igbo states.

Surely you should be intelligent enough to know a smaller group of people can't evolve a proto-language over the larger nucleus, simple maths and common sense should tell you that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts in the context of language evolution from a larger group of people relative to the subgroups.

Founded by Benin people but along the line igbos came and dominated them that's why their language changed to something similar to igbo. The igbo who came to ika then where not organized, they simply came for hunting, biz, farming or some who were barnished from their village in igboland. Benin kept their culture because they were organized coming from an organized society like Benin kingdom eg kingship, dressing and other traditions. The same thing happened in Bonny , they are ijaw but along the line igbos dominated them like the aro people , ndoki people and other igbo slave who did not have anywhere to go after the end of slave trade.

Then that means you dont speak Igbo, the Ika language is a dialect of Igbo. Nobody in Edo can understand Ika, but all Igbos understand Ika.

Oga its a capital lie

Benin understand little or more than Igbo when it comes to ika words

I have lived in obazagbon, otobaye and it environs in orhionmwon LGA

The language is a mixture of both edo words and possibly some Igbo element

The possibility for ika people to speak Benin is easier than Esan even

All ika people that have met as friend speak benin even when I was in Aliamen, boji boji owa, agbor ta and Agbobi the people understand Benin and speak it as if they have no other tongue

I will be going to Agbobi the first week of next month for the burial of my friends dad named Okoro Aiyudubie who also speak Benin

For me I think the ika people Edo blood

My friend nobody said the entire ika indegene are from Benin but the king has always been the focus

Since the king is the embodiment of his people then it's easy to said that the people are Benin

I do not Understand Ika language as a full blooded Igbo, born and raised in Igbo land, If you understand their language maybe you share blood with them and have NO right to speak for igbos

Then that means that your grasp of Igbo is very bad. The first time I went to Agbor's main market, I understood what they said, although I had to listen more attentively because some of their words have different intonation. I understand Ika even more than I understand Abakiliki dialect. The video below is a girl speaking Ika language, every Igbo man will understand what the girl is saying, but no Edo or Bini man can understand her

People always have the ability to learn other language apart from theirs.

The process is not natural.

..that is because they learnt about kingship from Benin and came with it..
A typical igbo don't believe in a kingship
The original people may have ignored him not knowing he will have such power in future....
Permit me to say that less than 5% of them came from Benin if possible.....
They came from Benin but their personal names, village names etc says otherwise, how come?

Lol, that's their business. They can believe whatever they want to believe or even join Bini to form a country if they want, nobody cares! The Enuani part where Asaba falls is more important and their allegiance to the great Igbo race is not in question.

Igbo nation is too large to bother about some confused clans like ikwerre or ika, they're disposable abeg grin grin
