it could be hacked and manipulated..... This is Nigeria... All you need is people Nin and voters card number and you vote online enmasse
of course Nin is necessary. But we're scared at the rate at which millions of our neighboring countries now have access to our Nin, due to voting. Northern government & APC has done the worst.. Pantami

Is that not why they are asking you to join politics and contest for public office to drive out the old men?

Sometimes I wonder what the lazy Nigerian youths want?

Is it to camp out on social media, rant, and bark like bingo instead of doing the hard work to come together, to strategize, to seek credible youths to back, support, and sponsor for elected office to change things?

...but of course, the only thing Nigerian youths know how to do is make noise and bark like lazy parrots on social media, they have zero ideas, zero solutions, just noise.
Do you mean youth should take over power in a country where anyone can be rigged in without considering vote and there's nothing the populace can do ?

But Twitter Facebook et all was what put those in power, in power.

It's a shame that most people cannot think for themselves. Whatever N authority figure says is sacrosanct because they hve outsourced their thinking!

Great point... Twitter, Facebook won't bring about any change, only those in power can do that

We can't do without comparing.

We were almost better than South Korea, Malaysia and China in the 50s and early 60s. Can you boast of same today?

How many creative youth did Buhari appoint into cabinet during his first democratic regime?

Have you heard where the now developed countries were calling on their youths to join politics before their could pregress.

People like Nehru of India and the man from Singapore were in their old agies when they used their leadership skill to design a new course for a prosperous future for their country.

Nigerian leaders are more interested in oppressive and complacent gestures while the politicians keep looking for the next election thereby creating mushroom policies that die when they're still in their respective office.

Would you say you're proud of where we presently are among the league of Nations? Where are visions 2010, 2020?

NGpatriot:

To start with, Nigeria is not developed countries and your realities and challenges are not the same so where is the sense in the baseless comparisons.?

The so-called developed societies worked on their societies and fine-tune their democracies for hundreds of years, they did not get there overnight or in 60 years. Work on your own unique Nigerian situations and realities.

All they asked you to do is join politics, participate and have a say per how to run your own life and manage your own future, but you are sitting here lamenting and telling stories about developed societies.

They have TECH billionaires in the US, but they also have smart, brilliant and competent young politicians casting, senatorial and congressional votes to influence public policies and programs and the last time I checked, we have brilliant TECH minds in Nigeria, 2 Nigerian youths just sold Paystack for $200 Million, Nigeria is the Number one TECH country in Africa and they don't sit all day on Twitter talking meaningless rubbish or barking like bingo all day against the government that they are too lazy to participate in or to influence to better their own lives.?

The comments in here shows the mindset of Nigerian youths and how shallow they are. The VP is telling them the truth but see how they perceive it? After 2023, many of them will still complain. Actions speak louder than words. Most of Nigerian youths are empty barrel.

Thank you Prof for stating the obvious, let him that have ears hear.
As in most of their comment dey pain me aswear ....
They'll rather rant on social media than partake in politics (either by voting or joining a political party).
How will d country get better if all we do is complain.
Their is a popular saying dat most voters are not on social media (I'm starting to think its true).

SOCIAL MEDIA ARE VEHICLES TO ACHIEVING A UTOPIAN STANDARD GURU IN POLITICS.

SOCIAL MEDIA IS A DEMOCRATIC AND UNASSAILABLE PUBLIC INFORMATION REPORTING CONTROL SYSTEM

PARTY POLITICS ARE DANGEROUSLY COMPETITIVE, ASSAILABLE, COSTLY AND ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE TO CULT INFLUENCE.

Did you vote for Sowore or really any youth in the last election?

1) Sowore is not a youth
2) Even if other youths fail, a youth can still succeed.

3)You don't have to start your political career by winning the presidential election.

4) You can wield political powers without necessarily occupying an elective position.

Youths join politics when entry form alone is #30m or above? How many youths have seen #1m before? Only God can save this country.

My brother, but the youths can buy flashy cars and flaunt them on Instagram. They build mansions for themselves and their parents and show them off on social media. They go on holiday to exotic destinations and show off the pictures on social media. Many of them are people of means.

1) Yahaya Bello will be the same age as Sowore when he contested and he is being pushed as a youth candidate. Previously anyone who wanted to be president had to be 40 to contest, now 35.

2) That is why I asked if you voted for a youth, obviously you went with an old cargo who has been part of the problems of Nigeria since 1966.

3) Youths can start at any point they please as it is allowed by law. The question is will you vote for them? Clearly not based on the litany of excuses you are giving.

4) Like what exactly? What power would a youth have without being elected and given the authority to change laws? Such "power" is completely worthless in the Nigerian system.

If you live in Nigeria, you should know that politics here is a dirty game.It is not who we want that wins but rather, who "they" want!

Do American politicians use cultists to attack their opposition supporters?
Do they shed blood on election day like Nigeria?
Do they have to belong to one occult group or the other to be able to win elections?
Do they go to shrine seeking diabolic means of empowerment?

If you are close to politicians, you'd understand.Even if it is local government level.
