I'm referring to those that did biometrics after 15th, although I feel it's the same thing because it stated that both medicals and biometrics.
I surely understand the statement written by IRCC. They don't need anyone's Medicals to start processing the application. Medical assessment is among the last thing IRCC do. But because, when people get Medical Request, it take them up to 4weeks, from booking to IRCC updating, to complete. So, IRCC post is just to encourage Upfront Medicals and remove delays. Those that sent their Application with Biometrics before May 15, and are fast enough to do their Upfront Medicals before request will surely get decision by August 6

Hello Ekulu77

Unlike Ireland where the officer is very interested in the origin-trace from where the fees were paid, Canada doesn't follow such visa processing rule.

Feel free to forward the receipt.

Best of Luck

Don't be angry please, I am not saying this to make you sad, just for you to take actions.

Active review nowadays is a generic response, I have been getting active review response since April, I have ordered 2 gcms notes with blank eligibility review in May and this June. I kept on sending webforms pointing to the fact I found on my gcms notes. Eligibility just truly started a week ago for March 19 application. You can check your gcms note if there's something on your eligibility, then you are good to go.

Please, how did you order your GCMS notes?

Hi, I'm in the same shoes as yours. Applied May 14th.
Mine is even worse, because there is no option of deferment for me. It's either fall this year or I would have to forfeit the admission and reapply next year.

My assurance was in the may 15th deadline to get a response by Aug 6th, but now that they said biometrics too should have been done before May 15th and I did mine 28th I don't know again.......
I'm just still believing God and I have faith that nothing is impossible with Him.

I’m hoping by July we get a response

IELTS being waived for you as a Nigerian will be dependent on if you schooled in English in Nigeria within the last two years or so. Different schools have different policies or if you can establish that the language of instructions in your school is English, this often comes with am official letter from your school stating this but I'm sure you won't have issues with fanshawe college or university of Ottawa with your cotonou degree.
With your international relations you can still study in Canada

Hi,

All your plans are feasible and seem realistic. Your siblings in Canada and having a family of your own are not limitations. These can actually be good factors if well leveraged. I think you should focus on getting a tight application for your admission in first.

The process is like a full time job on its own so I say get cracking on that aspect and leave the visa worries for now. You will cross the bridge when its time for that. For now, make the decision about what course/school/research focus and get a supervisor etc to aid your admission.

BTW, I am assuming you have a masters degree and some research experience often documented by research publication(s) since you are applying for PhD. These - in addition to a good research proposal and available supervision - will improve success of your application and potential funding. You can study for free (or almost for free since there is nothing free afterall when you consider the opportunity costs of statying in school instead of making money working) at PhD level. You just need to have a competitive profile and get your application well packaged.

I suggest you see other posts about preparing for PhD applications (including my own personal experience shared in part 18) and from the GURUS in the house on this aspect, for some insights.

Best of luck in the journey ahead.

Ire oh!

Pls house,hw do I get my ibtc pension account statement k

Hi, I know a number of persons who have gotten approved with just funding letter. I personally got full funding and my visa was approved, though I added my personal statement showing around 1.6M to cover for travel expenses and my first 1 month in Canada.

My advice is that someone closely related to you like your dad or mum or sibling should come as a supporting sponsor in the eventuality of let say delayed payment. This person mustn’t be super rich, since your tuition payment and core living expenses are cast in stone. Usually, one won’t be refused based on insufficient funds (having been refused before with full funding), one will most likely get this financial status and personal asset story, and that’s why it is just good to add some personal funds or funds from very very close relatives.

That being said, your application will most likely be approved. Don’t get too worried, just pray a good VO reviews your application.

Best of luck and it will end in praise![/quote]

Good evening everyone, please can you advice on applying for visa for 2 toddler kids alongside ones study permit application. What are the chances of getting all three applications approved? In my case too hubby will be the sponsor and won't be coming. thanks
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by Akannitommy: 9:09pm On Jun 22, 2021
What are the ages of the kids (because google & dem oyinbo say "toddlers" na pikin wey be btw 1 - 2 years old)? Children under 4 years old cannot apply for study permit - only visiting. Our common advice here is for the principal applicant to apply first for themselve, travel to resume study, before trying to add family. But there have been a few exceptions who applied with family and got approved. Generally, the chances of visa success for family going with student is very low but not impossible.

Akannitommy:
@afomon12 and @ikemummy

Congrats on your admissions and funding. I also wish you both and others still waiting a positive outcome in your applications.

From personal experience and those I know on this paltform as well as offline, it is best to always include your own bank account statements in addition to the school funding. For instance, I had less than N50,000 in my account when I submitted my application with full funding (for 4-years). However, that didn't stop me from generating MBS for the naira and for a virtually empty dorm account too to show as POF. I requested my GCMS note two months after arriving in Canada to get a sense of how the processing went. It was a 78-page document. NB: When I submitted application for SP in August 2020, NSE was not yet in effect then.

For the person who is married and already submitted the application with school funding only, (27k CAD is not addequate per the new NSE rule). This is where you could have used you own personal bank statement to make up the difference. Note that you also have a family and the VO will likely adjudged your application with an eye on what your family will survive on while you are away. So if you want to send additional document, I suggest you add a LOE that shows breakdown of your costs for the first year and your funding plans. Show how your family will cope financially while you are away even if this is just showing that your spouse has a job/business to support in your absence. March application date also seems a bit mature so I would request GCSM notes now.

For the single applicant, I think you did a good job but could always be better. If you have no qualms with submitting your own bank statement for one year, I think it is okay to do so. Although it would have been best if this was done originally.

All in all, both applications are promising.

Thanks Akannitommy for the enlightenment. Can l use my wife's confectionary business to show she has a job to support herself with while I am away.

Definitely, you can. If she uses her own personal or company bank account to run the business, feel free to add it and indicate in your LOE/SOP (under the home ties/family support section) what those document(s) are for.

I will say apply for visiting for the youngest along with your own study permit and then prepare to provide a plan/explanation for taking care of the kid while you are studying - paid creche etc. - in your application.

Does one still need COVID test despite getting vaccination
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by elenewton1: 9:49pm On Jun 22, 2021
Yes, pre and post arrival.
Full vaccination eliminates the 14-day quarantine (which includes the 3-day hotel quarantine).

Good evening people,

What happens when someone gets a new passport after PPR? Do you raise a webform informing them of the new passport so they recognize the passport details once you send to VFS?

Thanks!
